Tamsin Brown THE Rincon de la Victoria Town Hall has organised a series of commemorative events in celebration of the 187th anniversary of the constitution of the first town council of the municipality, which was based in Benagalbon. The mayor, Francisco Salado, said: “On August 28 of 1835, the first town council was established, a milestone given the circumstances of the time. After years of being located in various different places, it was permanently moved to Rincon de la Victoria in 1950.” The programme of events will begin on Saturday, August 27, with the unveiling of a commemorative mosaic near the church square. On August 28, the patio of the town hall will host an institutional act in which the mayor will give a speech in memory of the moment when Benagalbon was separated from Mo‐ clinejo and the town council was formed. The courtyard of the town hall will also host an ex‐ hibition of old images of the municipality until Mon‐ day September 5.
