your neighbourhood businesses, shop, and contribute back to your local community who has, in no doubt, been struggling significantly during this unexpected crisis. Now you can also return to your favourite
bar and soak up the rays of sunshine on its terrace, meet up with friends, have a laugh and have a drink to celebrate your reunion. Despite having these new, more relaxed, measures we should be extremely
respectful of the regulations in place. We h a v e c o m e a long way as a society to jeopardise our newfound freedom, and more importantly, the safety of those around us. Enjoy the new now,

Phase 1 vs Phase 2 MOST of Spain is currently in Phase 1 of the de-escalation plan, however, some areas such as La Gomera or El Hierro are currently in Phase 2. Seeing as regulations are constantly changing under new decrees, it is important to know the difference on what you are allowed to do within your phase and what you cannot do. Neither in Phase 1 or Phase 2 can you leave the province, mobility between provinces is still prohibited and is expected to recommence at a later date. In Phase 1 family and friends can hold reunions at homes, within the
same province, of up to 10 people. These meetings should not include any vulnerable risk groups. Funerals and wakes will also be allowed for a limited number of people, 15 if its open-air and 10 if it’s in a closed space. Shops up to 400sqm can open, however capacity will be capped at 30 per cent and social distancing of 2m should be upheld. There will be preferential hours for customers over the age of 65. Street markets will commence with a quarter of its usual stalls and capacity will be capped at 30 per cent. Also, in Phase 1 is the re-opening of bars and restaurants’ terraces which is capped at 50 per cent. Phase 2 will be quite similar to Phase 1, the main difference being that it will accommodate for more people by increasing maximum capacities. Places of worship and shops will amplify their capacity from 30 per cent to 50 per cent. Restaurants and bars with over 70sqm will begin serving clients inside

Theatres and cinemas will also reopen at 30 per cent capacity. The newest regulation to be announced under this phase is the reopening of swimming pools and beaches, which will also be controlled. Pools will be capped at 30 per cent capacity and beaches will have to ensure a two-metre distance between indi-
viduals. The maximum number of people allowed at the beach as a group is 15, unless these all live together. It is important to note that with these added freedoms comes an added sense of responsibility which we as citizens of a community must uphold. If sanitary conditions worsen or populations act irresponsibly then there is a possibility of being either held back in the same phase or even demoted to the previous phase.
Garrucha market back GARRUCHA’S weekly street market with its colourful stalls selling fruit and veg and all kinds of food products is back for the first time since the State of Alarm came into force, but the hustle and bustle is missing. Strict health safety measures aimed at preventing coronavirus infection mean the market location has been switched from the town’s streets to the much more spacious Virgen del Carmen esplanade next to the fishing port. This allows the stalls to be set out in the regulation distances, shoppers to practise social distancing and police and Guardia Civil to ensure there are no more than 125 people at the market at any one time.

First taste of Freedom LOCKDOWN de-escalation Phase one on the Costa Almeria: local residents talk to EWN about differences to their lives under Spain’s preliminary move towards the ‘new normal.’ With Almeria now into the second week under Phase one of the lockdown de-escalation and looking forward to entering Phase two next week, EWN talked to local people about the differences to their lives under the preliminary move towards the ‘new normal.’ “Phase one is absolutely an advance,” commented Francisca Andreu, owner of Mojacar’s Neptuno Restaurante y Eventos. The beachfront Neptuno has extensive terraces and has had a good number of customers and an “excellent” weekend, she reported. “There are less people than usual, but it’s possible to survive in this phase.” “People are coming in,” says Charles Alman, owner of Sundance Spas in Mojacar. “Just last week we sold two spas.” Charles said there were significantly more people this week than last, but said he will not be going to a bar for the

The switch to Phase one has not made much of a difference to Albox Insurance as they have been able to work much as normal throughout the lockdown. “Everything can be comfortably done by phone or over the internet, although there are some people who prefer to come into the office in person,” the company’s Glenn Unwin explained. Glenn says he’s seen a greater sense of optimism over the last week or so.
Lucky to be alive A DRIVER is lucky to be alive after his vehicle crashed through a wall and plummeted four metres off a bridge in the village of Rioja. A Guardia Civil patrol was quickly on the scene after a call came through reporting the accident. They found the 41-year-old motorist im-
mobile and semi-conscious in his car, which had ended up trapped between trees. The officers immediately called out the emergency medical services and the fire brigade to carefully get the driver out of the vehicle and into an ambulance so he could be rushed to the Torrecardenas hospital in Almeria City.
Collection box thief cuffed POLICE have cuffed a thief who had been nicking the contents of Almeria City church collection boxes. The San Isidro Labrador church priest alerted the authorities to the robberies in mid-April after he was woken up one night by noises from inside the place of worship. When he went to check out where it was coming from he caught sight of someone jumping over a wall with the metal donation box which had been attached to the church door.
SUSPECT: Police reported the 49year-old had been arrested on 18 previous occasions. Witness descriptions led investigators to identity the 49-year-old suspect, who police said had carried out two similar thefts: one from the Santiago church and from the Virgen del Mar sanctuary in the same month. It also turned out he has a lengthy criminal record, and had been detained
by police on 18 previous occasions. One time he was caught red-handed during a break-in at the Almeria Municipal Music School after he forced open an exterior shutter. Police officers found him crouched inside and carrying two stolen mobile phones.
“People can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” he said. The easing of restrictions under Phase one had been an “enormous leap” forward for the PAWS-PATAS animal shelter, reports the animal charity’s PR and fundraising coordinator Chrissie Cremore “During the past two months there has been a ‘skeleton staff’ rota looking after the cats and dogs, which has been exhausting and stressful.” Volunteers have now been allowed to return, which is a “massive saviour,”
THE coronavirus crisis has left the dig on the Mojacar ‘La Vieja’ site without archaeologists for this summer. The council reported that what would have been the third excavation campaign on the site of the old Mojacar settlement has been cancelled. “The current situation prevents us from carrying out this activity this year,” the local authority said.
Chrissie said, especially with many kittens, puppies and dogs being abandoned at the shelter over the past week. Staff have also been allowed to open the outlets in Mojacar, Turre and Las Buganvillas and accept much needed donations, and to get them prepared for opening to the public. Chris and Lenke Tyler have opened up the terrace to their Restaurante Los Conteros. Both self-employed, they are running everything on their own and working seven days a week. Chris reported only about 30 per cent of normal customer numbers. He put this down partly to people being stuck in the UK, but also believes a good number are still “nervous about going out. “We’ve written off summer,” Chris commented, yet he remains upbeat about the future, and hopes business will be “where we were in March by September. “There are lots of things against us, but we’re still very positive and we’re going to survive this.”

Lions say thank you THE Vera and District Lions have thanked everyone making generous donations to the club to support its work helping the needy. “The last couple of months have been strange for all of us and many people have suffered badly,” Vera Lions President Sheena Selkirk pointed out. Vera Lions has made it its mission to help as many people who need assistance with food and daily living costs as it can. The club is supporting the Vera and Turre food banks with financial and food donations on a regular basis. It has also been assisting the Red Cross and local council-led food supply programmes by making financial donations totalling over €4,500 so far. This funding has supported programmes operating in Mojacar, Antas, Cuevas del Almanzora, Zurgena, Arboleas, Albox, Olula del Rio and other areas of the Almanzora Valley. “Your donations have helped us to do this and we are extremely grateful,” Sheena stressed. Market reopening step towards normality “JUST one more small, but important step towards a return to day-to-day normality for Mojacar,” was how the local council described the reappearance of the village’s weekly street market. The return of the Mojacar market made it onto popular regional TV show ‘Andalucia Directo.’ A team from Andalucia-wide channel Canal Sur interviewed local Public Safety councillor Maria Luisa Perez when they went along to find out how the first day of the market in the new coronavirus world was shaping up. Held as usual in the village’s Plaza del Rey Alabez, the market now has to strictly adhere to government guidelines and safety measures. For the time being stalls selling items like clothing and accessories are not permitted.

Down and out robbed A 46-YEAR-OLD man is under arrest for beating up and robbing a down-andout in Almeria City of all his possessions. Police detained JHV less than 24 hours after the attack in the early hours of the morning in an area close to the Mediterranean games stadium, where the homeless victim had bed-
ded down for the night. The attacker surprised the down-and-out, kicking and punching him all over his body. He then took off with the victim’s belongings, including his wallet and medication. Witness descriptions of the violent robber helped lead to the quick arrest, police said.

Beach Crime rate drops measures THERE are not too many positives to come from the coronavirus crisis, but the enforced lockdown would appear to have led to less crime in Almeria. Interior Ministry figures show the provincial crime rate dropped by 13.3 per cent in the first quarter of the year, although the State of Alarm only came into force mid-March. In Almeria City delinquency over the three-month period was down 12.3 per cent, in El Ejido 12.5 per cent, by 12.2 per cent in Roquetas de Mar, while in Nijar crime rates plummeted by a massive 32.9 per cent. The number of sexual offences decreased by 22 per cent, and there were 30 per cent less property breakins. The Guardia said the organisation had managed to bring over 126 immigrants in just two days. The boats they used lacked any kind of safety measures and had on board too many people, among them children, pregnant women and one person with a disability. According to the Guardia the now dismantled organisation had a very similar structure to those identified in other groups dedicated to people trafficking
between the North African nation and Spain. The branch based in Oran and nearby areas lured Algerians with the offer of making the sea crossing in return for cash. The Almeria Province branch was responsible for receiving the boats reaching the shore on beaches in Nijar, Carboneras and Mojacar. The immigrants were then transferred to other parts of Spain or other EU countries. The Guardia seized nine boasts used by the gang, four out on the high seas and five along the coast.
MOJACAR Council’s economic and social aid plan for helping the municipality recover from the impact of the coronavirus lockdown includes a special section dedicated to tourism and beach areas. The ‘Mojacar Contigo’ plan features a focus on promotion and on the reinforcement of hygienic-sanitary measures. There will be increased cleaning and disinfection of beach toilet modules, firstaid areas and showers, along with the installation of hydroalcoholic gel dispensers in toilet blocks. The Local Police will be reinforced to ensure compliance with rules and social distancing on the beaches, and there will be new information posters on the regulations for beaches and communal areas. Hygienic-sanitary measures will also be stepped up on the municipality’s public bus service.

Love seats debut ALBOX Council has unveiled what might seem a curious addition to the town’s streets in the ‘new normal’ age of social distancing, so-called ‘love seats.’ Designed so two people sitting are looking at each other, the council’s aim with the initiative is to encourage face-to-face conversation and better social relationships between local residents. The original idea for the seating dates back to before the coronavirus crisis however.
Albox mayor Francisco Torrecillas told Spanish press he’d seen them on a trip to Mexico, liked them, and thought Albox could have the same, not only as a way of encouraging communication in person, but because there is a romantic touch to the concept too. For now 10 of the seats have been installed in various locations around the town, with plans for more in the future, depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Not only that, it turned out the electricity was being used to provide the necessary power to keep a marihuana plantation inside the property going. Under Phase 1, if your ITV has expired you can make a booking at the closest centre. You must arrive with necessary protective gear such as face masks and gloves, as well as ensuring you have a pre-booked appointment. The government has given individuals a 30-day extension to their ITV if it expired during lockdown, as well as an additional 15-day grace
period for each week that has passed in quarantine. Therefore, to work out how long before you must renew your ITV simply add 30 days to the expiry date, along with 15 additional days of every week in quarantine. For example, if your ITV expired in Week 1 of quarantine, from March 14 to 20 then you have 30 days to renew alongside an additional 15 days. If it expired in Week 2 of quarantine, from March 21 to 27, then you have 30 days to renew alongside an additional 30 days. Week 3 March 28 to April 3 would be 30 days to renew and an additional 45 days.

Motoring Hack A NEW hoax is circulating on the internet under the guise of Spain’s General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) telling people via an email that they have been fined for a motoring offence. Hackers are now using the fake notification to con users to sharing their private details like bank accounts by clicking on a link. The DGT has advised that it does not use emails to notify drivers about fines nor does it use the kind of very blunt language that has been observed in the malicious mailing, which at first glance looks realistic. When the fake email is sent, the unsuspecting motorist sees the message with the subject ‘Pay your Fine.’ The actual email details where and when the offence was allegedly committed, and then he or she

Spain’s borders stay closed
NO ENTRY: Travel ban extended. THE countr y has announced that it is extending a travel ban to all non-essential visitors through to June 15, which matches the European Union policy to do the same. The new government order pushes past the original cut-off date of May 24, and also goes way past the current period of Spain’s State of Alarm
emergency measures. A government source said that “restrictions are likely to remain in place no matter how important tourism is for the Spanish economy.” Only Spanish nationals and non-Spaniards with official residencia documents that prove Spain is where they live are allowed in via flights, sea journeys and land border
crossings. There are some limited exceptions including special category workers and diplomats. Land borders with France and Portugal were closed to most people since the State of Alarm was implemented in midMarch to fight the coronavirus pandemic, pushing the economy to a near stand-still and hitting its key tourist sector hard.

Laid off LOW cost air carrier Ryanair is sacking yet more workers in Spain and the UK following April’s announcement of thousands of redundancies. Two hundred and fifty office staff are to go from the company’s offices in Madrid and Stansted, in addition to Dublin and Wroclaw. The job cuts will come from a mixture of sackings, voluntary redundancies, and non-renewal of fixed-term contracts. The fresh blow comes as Ryanair said in April that it would be laying
off up to 3,000 staff. Darren Hughes, People Director for Ryanair said: “This is a very painful time for Ryanair, our crews and our people supporting operations from our Dublin, Stansted, Madrid and Wroclaw offices.” The carrier says that it plans to operate around 40 per cent of its regular services across all of its scheduled routes from July 1. That bold statement made earlier in the week takes no account of what measures will be taken on reopening European borders.

Digital tax DIGITAL SERVICE: Introduced by the government.
OFFICIALS all across the world are now trying to grapple with ways to try and tax companies such as Facebook and even Google. Spain’s own government have just approved a digital services tax. This is coming after a very similar move came from the US. The levy is going to place a total tax rate of
3 per cent on earnings that come from online ads and any deals that might be brokered on digital platforms. The budget minister who is Maria Jesus Montero has stated that the tax is not going to come into place until December and that this is going to allow the organisation for Economic Corporation and Development to come to
an agreement on a separate global tax.
Sharks spotted A MORE than eightmetre long shark has appeared cruising around just 400 metres or so from a beach in Polopos on Granada’s Costa Tropical. Saturday’s sighting of the basking shark in front of the La Mamola beach follows reports at the beginning of the month of a much smaller one, around three metres, in front of a beach in Calahonda just down the coast towards Motril. The Guardia Civil said that while this species of shark, the second largest in the world, is not known to attack man, its Maritime Service advises the public not to get too close to the creature in boats or kayaks.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had intended to push Congress for a 30-day extension of the State of Alarm to ‘cover until the end of the de-escalation.’ However, Sánchez has not received the back up he had hoped for and has had to settle for another 15 days, which is the period for which the State of Alarm has been extended since it was decreed on March 14. Sánchez explained that, since it is a “completely different phase,” it will have modifications towards the “institutional de-escalation.” For this, he was negotiating with the Catalonia and Basque parties for their votes of agreement, but has been

EVEN though there are some indus tries that have benefited from the Covid19 pandemic such as suppli ers of plastic sheets for safety screens, even they are suffering. According to the British Plastics Federation, some firms aren’t likely to be able to supply the necessary acrylics until the end of July and as more shops and offices open, so the demand just keeps increasing. As organisations like Uber and mini cab firms are now trialling the addition of screens in their cars, the supply situation can only get worse.

Spanish car industry facing problems IT would appear that one of the first major losses of industrial pro duction in Spain will come in the vehicle production industry. Japanese newspaper Nikkei sug gests that when it reveals its latest results on May 28, Nissan will an nounce the closure of its lossmak ing factory in Barcelona and the transfer of production to France. Last year the Spanish arm pro duced some 55,000 commercial ve hicles and small lorries but has been working to only a small per centage of capacity for some time. Concurrent to this, the French

LEGALLY SPEAKING Can they block use of pool? In our community we have several different forms of action against the nonpayers of community fees, such as not allowing them to vote at the AGM. My questions are: 1. Is it legal to disable the electronic key to the pool and garden area for nonpaying owners? 2. The short answers to YOU AND THE LAW your questions are: IN SPAIN 1. No, it is not ‘legal’ to block access to the swimming pool for nonpayers. 2. Yes, it can be made ‘legal’ by amending the original statutes of the community to include the prohibition of pool access. 3. No, the Property Registry will not reject the amendment. All of the above depends on court decisions and not laws. This is why I put ‘legal’ between quotation marks. One court has ruled that pool access can be prohibited if it is written in the statutes. And, yes, you can amend your statutes by a unanimous vote. This is highly unlikely.

Another large loan THE Spanish construction compa ny OHL has entered into an agree ment with a number of banks to borrow €140 million in order to protect its liquidity. As is becoming more common with large loans, a condition was that it should be substantially guaranteed by the Official Credit Institute (ICO) which is an arm of Spain’s government and it has ac cepted a 70 per cent risk. The loan is due to be repaid the end of October 2021 by which time the company expects busi ness to return to normal.

LEAPY LEE SAYS IT OTHERS THINK IT NUMBERS seem to be at the top of the priority list among the politicians and media these days. Numbers of deaths here, numbers of cases there, percentages of victims from this area, how the UK numbers compare with other countries. The whole sorry debacle is beginning to resemble some macabre international lottery competition. As I write this, I have a half an eye on SKY news and, lo and behold, the announcer is giving out more numbers, namely the number of deaths in care homes. Well of course these particular sums truly are shocking. We are all terribly saddened by the number of elderly patients succumbing to this awful disease. But why are we so surprised at the high death toll among the most vulnerable in our society? After all is this not the whole point? It is a proven fact that those who live in care homes are far less likely to survive this

awful virus than others who are younger and more healthy. I have found myself in a quite a few care homes over the years and have been surprised (or not!) that the homes depict-
ed on the media always seem to show highly efficient modern units, all computerised, with pristine environments and facilities, run by highly efficient and articulate staff. ‘The only reason for
the high rate of deaths in these establishments,’ spout many of those desperately striving to gain political points, ‘is the government’s failure to provide enough PPE equipment.’ But it’s not the only reason is it? Having experienced the heartbreak of two beloved parents, who finally had to be moved to care homes, I can assure you that they are not all as wonderful as the media would like us to believe. There are thousands of these lucrative private care homes scattered throughout the country, and quite a number that I have experienced are a positive disgrace. While vainly searching for somewhere to place my dear Dad and later my Mum, I was appalled by the conditions in a whole host of these places. Many of them stank of urine. I saw others that were grubby and badly run by completely incompetent staff. Not a few
were run by immigrants, mainly from Pakistan, who, after taking advantage of government schemes to buy large houses, had brought all their relatives over to live in half of the house, while the ‘residents’ lived in the other half and were often tended by some of these relatives who had no qualifications whatsoever. The speed that this virus could have run rampant through these poorly run establishments doesn’t bear thinking about PPE equipment or not. No I truly am fed up with the way the media tries to twist the news to suit their political leanings or merely to pick up ratings by the promotion of sensationalism. Ah well. Go safe everyone. Other People’s Opinions Are None of Your Business WITH what is going on in the world right now, everyone seems to have an opinion. Having an opinion about anything is completely natural. It’s a part of life! But ask yourself a question. How is your opinion affecting others? Is your opinion kind? Is your opinion factual? Does your opinion need to be shared? Does your opinion spread love or fear? Everyone in the world has feelings. You can never take a feeling away from others but you can respect it. You can also respect other people’s opinions but you do not have to let it run your life or assist you in making or changing your decisions. Seven years ago, I told friends
and family that we were moving to Spain. We weren’t financially secure, we had two young children and nine suitcases with no guarantee of work! Some supported our decisions, others didn’t! We were told we were crazy, we were told we would be back within a year, we were told it wouldn’t work. These were people’s opinions. Their opinions were generated from their own fear. If we had listened to those opinions, there is a strong case that we would still to this day, be plodding along and existing. Our children would never have experienced a different culture and learned a new language at such a young age. We knew these people cared for us, but we knew
what WE wanted to do. We respected their opinion, thanked them for their input, blessed and released any form of negativity and continued with our plan. That plan has been the making of our family’s lives! People will have an opinion, no matter what you say or do. People will judge no matter what decisions you make in life. People will react to your decisions through their own experiences, thoughts and feelings, but that doesn’t make it right for you. Today is the day that you tell yourself; Other people’s opinions are none of my business. I will live my life, my way with my choices. I will fear the fear and do it anyway. Yo u might hide away at home not wanting to speak to anyone. Or you may reach out to friends, unloading your worries on to t h e m . N e i t h e r a p p ro a c h i s wrong! Whichever way you go, it may be difficult to understand those who act differently than you do when they’re feeling fragile. Here’s why you might be inclined to reach out or hideaway. Reaching Out When a thousand worries weigh on your brain, sometimes the only way to relieve pressure is by letting off steam. Perhaps you invite your bestie over for a takeaway, a sad movie, and a long cry. Or maybe you rant, unloading all of your worries on your mum. You might even type a long email to a trusted friend, laying bare all your worries. Talking through your fragile feelings with a trusted friend or loved one works much like talk therapy, discussing your anxieties helps you sort out your true feelings. But letting off too much steam isn’t healthy, either. If your venting comes out as rage, or you’re thinking obsessively over an idea or choice, your health may be at risk - so make sure your venting remains constructive. How to help someone who reaches out If your friend is going through a difficult time, offer a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. Ignore
the temptation to offer advice now isn’t the time for multitasking with some Candy Crush or Facebook. But if you suspect their troubles run deeper, encourage them to seek professional help, speak to a doctor. Hiding away Hiding out under the covers can seem like the only option when you’re feeling sad. Besides, every time you step out into society, it feels like taking a risk. Will you cry in public? Will you say yet another stupid thing that worsens your bad mood? In certain situations, wallowing is acceptable - give yourself time to heal after something bad happens. There’s no shame in an extended break from the big scary world. The more you fold in on yourself, the more difficult it becomes to reach out for help from a friend or a therapist. How to help someone that just wants to h i d e away If you’re worried about a friend who h a s dropped off the face of the planet, tread carefully. Not everyone is receptive to a suggestion that might be dealing with a condition like depression. Waiting for them to reach out may be the best strategy. But if you haven’t heard from them in a while, consider sending a message. Let them know you care and want to talk to them. Don’t push the issue, but leave an opening for further communication. FREEDOM FIGHTER DEAR Euro Weekly News, Please don’t take away my one hour in the evening for exercise! I am in remission from lung cancer, and very vulnerable, and the 7-8pm hour to take a walk safely and get some fresh air is a saviour for me, after nearly eight weeks of not leaving the house at all, I do enjoy my evening walk, knowing there will not be 100s of people out walking and putting my health at risk! At 8pm when I make my way home there are literally 100s of people and lunatics racing past on bikes, and not adhering to social distancing rules, and it would be very unsafe for me to walk amongst all these people. I may be over 70, but one hour in the evening to walk is not too much to ask, surely? I am over 70, but just as important as every other member of society! And I wait all day for 7pm to come, so I can go out for some fresh air. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE AWAY THE LITTLE BIT OF FREEDOM YOU HAVE GIVEN ME!!!!!! Normal people have a choice of eight hours in which to take their exercise, children have a choice of seven hours, and over 70’s have a choice of just
OUR VIEW Soft touch DESPITE becoming the worst-hit country in Europe, Boris Johnson seems to be enjoying the peak of his popularity curve. Italy and the UK are the two European nations most badly affected by Covid-19. Italians, who constitute a sizeable community in the UK, are heartbroken that the British people are suffering the same fate as their home country. Some have taken to social media to chastise the ‘reluctance’ and ‘naivety’ of the PM when it came to containing the pandemic, despite having watched the Covid-19 hell unfold in Italy. When a lockdown was eventually enforced in the UK, many Italians couldn’t understand why people in Britain were allowed to jog, go for a walk or simply leave home without showing papers to the police. When Britain recently became the country with the worst coronavirus death toll in Europe, many Italians grieved in shock. To others, it was only to be expected given the UK’s relaxed lockdown. Italians are now leaving the UK in droves to go back to their home country, according to the Italian embassy in London. The initially soft Covid-19 approach of the UK government generated a great deal of fear among Italians, and they decided it made more sense to leave. Just like the Brits, Italians are enormously proud of their healthcare system, which, not surprisingly, was mentioned by Johnson as an example of an excellent healthcare system unable to cope with the waves of victims from the pandemic. Of course, every country has made its own mistakes against this invisible enemy. Italy made huge ones. Yet many in Italy are still wondering why the UK didn’t act immediately against the virus after the immense suffering in southern Europe. This has now generated a sort of general scepticism and distrust toward the British authorities among Italian citizens.

Pleasure in power Dear Euro Weekly News, I hope I am wrong. It is my feeling that Bill Gates knows that this pandemic was just a trial run to see who obeys the lockdown and who didn’t. How long people stayed in their homes before they rebelled. What ages were involved and what types of people? How effective was their control of the media and use of AI to remove videos that were against the status quo? The next pandemic will probably be very soon as they will not want the countries affected to recover economically. It will probably be a mutated version of CV and they will seed it in areas where it will spread the fastest and kill the most people. This time what the virus does not kill, food shortages will. The fact that Bill Gates is already warning us as he did the last time that another pandemic is on the cards it will happen because he will make sure it does. This psychopath takes pleasure in his power to create fear and panic on a greater level than Stalin, Mao and Hitler especially as he will be responsible for its release. But this time the vaccine will magically appear and will be ready with some form of microchip or identity system ready to inject the world population for the coming One World Government. Washington officials were “furious” to learn UK police had put an international wanted notice out for Anne Sacoolas, the American woman charged over 19-year-old Harry’s death last year, the Mail on Sunday reports.

last year. Anne Sacoolas, 42, the wife of a US intelligence official based at RAF Croughton, claimed diplomatic immunity after the crash and was able to return to her home country. She was charged with causing death by dangerous driving in December, but an extradition request submitted by the Home Office was rejected by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in January, a decision the State Department has since described as “final.”

the EU compromised. According to the Mail on Sunday, if no compromise is reached at the next meeting between the two sides at the end of May, then the indications were that Britain would simply walk away and leave without a deal.

ITALIANS angry over the lack of help from the EU during the Coronavirus Crisis are demanding a vote to leave the block. Italy was the first country in Europe to be placed on strict lockdown as it struggled to cope with the spread of Covid19. Its European neighbours largely looked on and did nothing to help relieve the burden. Months later as the lockdown is slowly lifted and Italians begin to tentatively venture out, there is growing concern over the economic impact of the crisis. The discontent among Italians has given way to rising support for the idea of an independent Italy outside of the EU. A survey of 1,000 Italians carried out in April by Tecne showed 42 per cent would like to see their country break ties with Brussels. This marked a jump from 26 per cent in November 2018.
