For many children, the courtroom can be a confusing and intimidating place. When abuse or neglect brings a family into the justice system, children often struggle to be heard. That’s where CASA Monroe steps in — providing a consistent, compassionate voice for children who need it most.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) was founded in 1977 in Seattle, Washington, when a judge recognized the need for trained volunteers dedicated to representing the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. Since then, the CASA movement has grown into a nationwide network of programs, each committed to giving vulnerable children a voice, stability, and a better chance for a positive future. CASA Monroe began serving Monroe County, Tennessee, in 2007 and now advocates for approximately 200 children each year, helping ensure they are seen, heard, and supported throughout the court process.
Our Mission: Advocacy, Support, and Hope
At the heart of CASA Monroe’s work is a simple but powerful mission: to provide trained and dedicated volunteer advocates who represent the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are involved in the court system. These volunteers walk alongside children as they navigate the court process, ensuring their needs, hopes, and rights are heard and considered.
Every child deserves a safe, stable, and permanent home — and CASA Monroe’s advocates work tirelessly to help make that a reality. By building trusting relationships and collaborating with social workers, attorneys, judges, and families, CASA volunteers help guide children toward brighter futures.
Who We Are
CASA Monroe is powered by compassionate staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners who believe every child deserves a voice. Together, we work to provide thoughtful advocacy and meaningful support so each child we serve experiences stability, care, and hope for the future.
How You Can Help: Volunteer and Support
Volunteers are the backbone of CASA Monroe. Becoming a CASA Volunteer Advocate is one of the most impactful ways to make a difference:
1. Application and background check. 2. 5 weeks of comprehensive volunteer

training – Next training starts on February 3, 2026. Call 423-442-2750 if you’re interested!
3. Case assignment and ongoing support. Once trained, volunteers are matched with a child’s case and begin representing that child in court, ensuring their voice isn’t lost in the legal process. Through ongoing communication, investigation, and advocacy, CASA volunteers become vital allies to children who would otherwise go unheard.
Not able to volunteer directly? You can still support CASA Monroe through donations, event participation, sponsorships, or spreading awareness within your community. Every contribution — big or small — helps CASA Monroe continue its mission.
Join Us for These Exciting Community Events
CASA Monroe’s mission is substantially supported by community partnerships and fundraising events that bring people together for awareness, fun, and compassion. Two events that highlight both community spirit and fundraising impact are the Superhero 5K in April and the CASA Monroe Rodeo in September.
Superhero 5K — April 25, 2026
CASA Monroe’s Superhero 5K invites the community to come together for a fun, family-friendly event supporting abused and neglected children. Participants of
all ages are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes — because it often takes a hero to change a child’s story. Feel free to bring your furry friends along to enjoy the race with you!
The race takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in downtown Madisonville and is open to runners and walkers of all levels. With activities, refreshments, and a lively finish-line atmosphere, the Superhero 5K raises awareness for Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month while supporting CASA Monroe’s advocacy efforts across Monroe County. To register visit: www.casamonroe.org.
CASA Monroe Rodeo — September 11 & 12
The CASA Monroe Rodeo returns September 11 & 12, 2026, for an exciting weekend of professional rodeo action, family fun, and community pride. Hosted at Legacy Horse Ranch at Rarity Bay in Vonore, the rodeo features bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, live entertainment, great food, and activities for all ages.
Recognized as one of the area’s Top New Rodeos in 2024 and named an IPRA (International Pro-Rodeo Association) Top 5 Outdoor Rodeo in 2025, this event combines thrilling entertainment with meaningful impact. Proceeds support CASA Monroe’s
advocacy programs, ensuring children who have experienced abuse or neglect have a dedicated voice during court proceedings.
For those looking for an elevated experience, the rodeo offers a special VIP package, which includes premium parking, seating, exclusive hospitality, food & drink, and behind-the-scenes access, making it a unique way to enjoy the action while supporting CASA Monroe’s mission.
Families
Beyond the Courtroom
CASA Monroe’s impact extends beyond courtroom advocacy. As a certified Child Passenger Safety Fitting Station, CASA Monroe educates parents and caregivers on the importance of child passenger safety. Parents and caregivers receive individualized, hands-on support from a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, who checks each child’s car seat for proper fit and installation while providing education to promote safe travel.
In addition, CASA Monroe offers free parenting classes that equip caregivers with practical tools to support positive parenting, strengthen families, and promote safe, stable home environments. These classes also provide education on important topics, including opioid awareness and prevention, helping caregivers navigate challenges that can impact children’s safety and well-being. Together, these services reflect CASA Monroe’s commitment to supporting children and families throughout the community.
A Community United for Children CASA Monroe continues to grow — thanks to community support, generous partners, and dedicated volunteer advocates. Together, with events like the Superhero 5K and CASA Monroe Rodeo, we raise not only funds but awareness for the hundreds of children affected by abuse and neglect.
From the courtroom to the racecourse, from the arena to everyday life, CASA Monroe strives to ensure that every child has a safe, nurturing, and permanent home — and that their voice is never left unheard.

Love. That seems to be the
and so on. And, of course, most in this area definitely love the Vols!
We love people. We love our friends and our family; those who truly make our lives worthwhile. There are those we love unconditionally; and those who love and accept us – despite our faults.
There’s romantic love; the love we show to that extra special someone that rocks our world and whom we just can’t live without – our sweetheart, our significant other, our beloved. This tends to be the traditional focus of Valentine’s Day.
And, the highest love of all is Agape love. The Greek word agape is used for God’s love toward us and for the love that we should display toward one another. Some call this “charity” – as described in 1 Corinthians 13; some call it sacrificial love. I love this East Tennessee area. I love the mountains, the trees, and the GREEN (well, it’ll be back soon)! We are blessed with scenic beauty, and (usually) mild weather. We have recreational opportunities with hiking trails in the parks and Smokies, fishing, boating and water sports on our many lakes and beautiful country drives. However, what stands out to me even more, is the people. The people who, on a daily basis, quietly and unassumingly serve one another. Tennessee truly deserves to be called the Volunteer State; there are so many who have made helping others - serving others - a way of life. It’s just what you do. I believe that is how we show love to our neighbor.
Dear children, let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18 ESV
So, during this challenging month with winter weather still lingering and cloudy days more the norm than sunshine, we have a bright spot to celebrate - Valentine’s Day. However you choose to show your love, I know your Valentine will appreciate any plans you took the time to make happen or any special gift you chose just for him or her.
May your Valentine’s Day be filled with joy and happiness in spite of all that is going on in the world. So, from all of us at East Tennessee’s Mountain Views, we wish all of you a very Happy Valentine’s Day and many blessings of your own.

These are often cost effective and have minimal headrail requirements. Cellular shades are the most energy efficient by capturing heat in the cell pockets before it enters the room. These are applicable for almost any window, now even uniquely shaped windows can have f unctioning shades.
Sheer shadings (such as Silhouette, Pirouette, Banded Shades from Hunter Douglas ) are also an option that can provide both light fi ltering view through and privacy based on the tilt of the fabric vanes. These can also add an ethereal glow to a ro om.
Woven Woods or Fabric Roman Shades can add interest and texture to a window while also providing function. With attached linings, these c an also range from sheer to room darkening.

Although this space has featured the Tennessee Tarzan once before, his story goes way beyond being king of the pool halls. Mike Massey fought through a really tough childhood in Loudon, Tennessee and eventually put his hometown on the map by winning over 23 major pool titles, often featured on ESPN and being inducted into multiple Halls of Fame. After years of winning championships in every billiards category, Massey took it to another level as the most accomplished trick shot artist in the world. As a youngster Massey was gambling by the age of seven. He accepted a dollar from his father at an all night card game and in moments won $83 from the adults at the table. Mike told me his brother Larry Massey “is the greatest guy I’ve ever known.” When Mike had laid out of school 20 days one year, Larry gave him a bicycle on condition he’d improve class attendance; unfortunately, the bike put wind at his back, and Mike missed 40 days the next year. Still, Larry provided the example and aid needed to earn his little brother’s utmost

respect. Mike gives Larry credit for being there when he needed it most.
Their grandfather Dick Massey earned a reputation working on the Loudon courthouse addition a century ago, the first of many generations of Massey carpenters. He built the brick house Mike remembers beside “Massey’s Woods” on a hilltop in Loudon, where many kinfolks grew up. When word got back home from WWII that Mike’s dad had “gotten” the Purple Heart, father Dick expressed fear that Purple Heart might be a disease which could threaten his boy’s life.
Once retired from competitive billiards, Mike was pulled into the movie business as an advisor and actor in numerous movies, including Pool Hall Junkies with Christopher Walken, Rod Steiger and Chaz Palminteri. In The Baron and the Kid, he trained Johnny Cash on various pool shots performed in the film, served as technical advisor and played a supporting role himself. To me his greatest videos are the ones you can pull up on youtube featuring the entire bevy of phenomenal trick shots. Check out his amazing boot trick if you really want to be impressed.
After all the fame and honors touring over 45 countries, Mike Massey now spends his time back in Tennessee with a

new entertainment approach ... music. He shared with me a song he wrote based on his childhood in Loudon, when his family raised a rooster who thought he was a dog. He swears this rooster chased cars, which led to the bird’s tragic end. The resulting tune “No Chickens in Heaven” is a dandy. Mike has written, sung or produced almost 50 recordings to be enjoyed at ReverbNation.com.
Titles one would expect include “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Cues” and “Pool Hustler’s Dream,” but I really like those with a unique story like “The Avon Lady” and “Hometown Hobo.” With a preference for country
music, Mike performs at a venue regularly in Nashville, and most of his original pieces tell stories of faith, redemption and seeking a better way of life.

Most of us can picture the moment when memory loss became personal, real.
A neighbor forgets your name. A friend stops showing up. A loved one struggles to remember things that once came easily. Some may recognize changes in themselves. Those moments are unfolding every day in kitchens, living rooms, and doctors’ offices, often without much notice from the outside world.
In Loudon, Monroe, and surrounding counties, nearly one in 10 residents age 65 and older is living with dementia. Alzheimer’s disease ranks among the leading causes of death locally, and those numbers continue to rise as our communities age. But statistics only tell part of the story. Behind each diagnosis is a family adjusting to a new reality. Spouses become caregivers. Adult children juggle jobs, parenting, and round-the-clock supervision. Most provide care without formal training, often without enough sleep, and frequently without anyone asking how they are holding up. This year, more than 500,000 Tennesseans are expected to serve as unpaid caregivers—many carrying emotional and financial burdens quietly and alone.

For families in rural communities, the challenge is even greater. Memory-care options are limited. Private programs can be expensive, transportation may be difficult, and keeping a loved one safely
engaged at home can feel overwhelming. Caregivers often say they don’t need “time off”—they need help.
That is where Our PLACE comes in.
Since opening our doors in 2022, Our PLACE has served as this area’s only independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit memory day center, offering something many families didn’t know existed: a safe, structured place where adults with memory loss are welcomed, engaged, and treated with dignity. To date, Our PLACE has provided more than 70,000 hours of person-centered care. At the same time, and just as importantly, we provided 70,000 hours of respite for caregivers.
For some, those hours mean the chance to rest. For others, they mean time to work, run errands, or simply take a deep breath. For many families, that support has made the difference between continuing at home and seeking long-term care options outside the home.
A Name That Reflects the Heart of the Work - With that mission at the forefront, Our PLACE Adult Day Center is now known as Our PLACE Memory Day Center.
The care has always been specialized. The focus has always been memory loss. But the previous name didn’t always

make that clear to families searching for help. Adding “Memory” to the name helps caregivers and healthcare providers more quickly understand what Our PLACE offers—often during one of the most stressful moments of their lives.
What Remains the Same - While the name has changed, the heart of Our PLACE has not.
The center remains dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, person-centered day program for adults living with memory loss, while supporting caregivers with education, understanding, and resources. Families will continue to find the same compassionate care they trust. Community partners will continue to rely on Our PLACE as a vital local resource. Donors will continue to sustain a program that ensures no one is turned away because of an inability to pay.
Our PLACE Memory Day Center will continue offering day programs, caregiver support groups, and educational resources. Families have several options to help offset the $80 daily fee, including VA benefits, TennCare CHOICES, long-term care insurance, and scholarships made possible by generous community support.
For families wondering whether Our PLACE Memory Day Center might be right for them, the first step is simple: a conversation. Executive Director Sarah Martin, CDP, offers a free 30-minute consultation to answer questions and help families explore their options in a supportive, no-pressure setting.
Memory loss may change many things, but families should never have to face it alone.

One of the year’s top media events happens Feb. 8, when 100+ million viewers will tune in to Super Bowl LX, the season finale pitting the top two teams in pro football. To wild fanfare, the two entities will storm the field just before kickoff, bursting with confidence in their ability and winning strategy.

By this time, the athletes will have been at the venue for hours, readying themselves for competition. Pro athletes are legendary in achieving “the zone,” and all employ unique routines to prepare themselves psychologically. Some prefer quiet meditation; others loud music and physicality. Most utilize rituals of behavior, diet, or “lucky” charms.
These act as anchors, helping them tap into a state of focus, confidence and readiness. As thementalgame.me advises in “Insight And Tips On Mental Health and Performance” – “By repeating these rituals, you create consistency in your mental state, which can be crucial for performing at your best.”
While it may not be to the quirky level of pro athletes, each of us employs this anchor mentality. We all have unique habits we use to navigate our days.
Two other constants of pre-game preparation are pep talks and prayer. Pep talks –short motivational speeches – aim to focus the team and boost its collective confidence, energy and enthusiasm. In most high-level programs, teams also will kneel, grasp hands and pray together, with a focus on competing with heart and integrity, teamwork, safety and gratitude. Group prayer also allows players to connect and find support within each other, while imploring – and giving thanks – to the Almighty.
There are many life lessons to be learned via sports. Setting goals, imprinting fundamentals, repetition and fair play are important in any endeavor. And, if you are searching for a path to “get in the zone” each day, there is an entire book of pep talks and guidance available to you. It’s the Bible – the actual Word of God.
Psalm 119:105 tells us: “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a guide unto my path.” His Word won’t reveal every twist and turn ahead, but it is a lamp that provides enough light to walk forward with confidence in Jesus Chris – comforting you, shaping your thinking and pointing you toward the “zone” of redemptive strength and peace. Make Jesus Christ part of your daily pep talk. There is no better anchor in life.

February is a busy and wonderful month here at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church. On Tuesday the 17th at 5:00pm, we will be eating pancakes for dinner.
What does that have to do with Jesus? Well, it’s a long story.
The next day is Ash Wednesday. On that day, we have a special service at 5:00pm where I will make a cross of ashes on the forehead of all the people who gather. The ashes are a reminder to us to use the time we have wisely. We are made of dust and “to dust we shall return.” We don’t consider this a dreary reminder, because after all Adam was made out of dust too. God can do some pretty amazing things with dirt.
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season called Lent. Lent is 40 days long (not including Sundays which are always celebrations) and gives us time to prepare for the celebration of Easter on April 5th. What do we do for 40 days? The short answer: repent. We take a serious look at our lives, our discipleship, our habits, our treatment of

others, and what or who we have been leaving out of our lives. Then, we make an effort to turn away from sins and toward God. We know that God loves us and accepts us no matter what. We don’t do these Lenten things to earn God’s favor, but just as a way to love Him, to love each other, and to love ourselves. Sometimes people give up things up for Lent. Sometimes these are luxuries.
Sometimes people give up these luxuries so that they can have more to share with the needy. We take the money we were spending on things we don’t really need and give it away. There is something to be said for giving that comes not just out of our abundance but giving that we can “feel” the absence of. The absence of that comfort or luxury helps us connect with Christ who gave up not only luxury - but safety and his very life for the salvation of the world.
In certain times and places in the Church’s history, many people gave up animal products like meat, cheese, and butter. There was a problem: things like butter would spoil before the 40 days were up. Christians came up with a solution. The night before Ash Wednesday you eat up all your eggs and butter in a big feast so that they wouldn’t go to waste. You celebrate on what was called Shrove Tuesday (from the word which means to be forgiven) so that the next day you can give up some of those luxuries and focus on being a blessing to others. I told you pancakes had something to do with Jesus! Come and join us for our celebration, our solemn fast, and of course plan to join us for Holy Week and Easter.
Blessings, Pr. Phil

s spring arrives, we’re seeing one trend rise above the rest: matching sets.
Matching sets are no longer just about convenience... they’re a fashion statement that blends ease, confidence, and effortless polish. Spring is all about fresh starts, and there’s no better way to step into the season than with a look that feels both put-together and comfortable!
One of the things we love most about this trend is how easy it makes getting dressed. Our casual sets are perfect for travel days, weekend errands, or relaxed afternoons with friends. Soft fabrics, flattering fits, and thoughtful details mean you can stay comfortable without sacrificing style. Whether you’re heading out on a road trip or just enjoying a laid-back spring day, these sets move with you and look great all day long.
On the other end of the style spectrum, we’ve curated dressier matching sets that are ideal for spring weddings, showers, and special events. These pieces offer a chic alternative to traditional dresses, with coordinated tops and bottoms that feel modern and elevated. From flowy silhouettes to more tailored options, our dressy sets allow you to stand out while still feeling completely yourself.
Another reason matching sets are trending is their versatility. While they look amazing worn together, each piece can also be styled separately,

giving you multiple outfits from one purchase. Pair a set’s top with your favorite jeans or style the bottoms with a simple blouse for a whole new look. At The Lily Pad, we’re always thinking about how our customers can get the most out of their wardrobe, and matching sets truly deliver on that promise.
Spring fashion should feel fun, effortless, and inspiring—and that’s exactly what we strive to bring you at The Lily Pad. From casual, travel-ready sets to elegant options for life’s special moments, there truly is a style for everyone. At The Lily Pad, we’re proud to offer pieces that will help you feel confident and comfortable this season. We can’t wait for you to explore our collection and find the matching set that fits your spring perfectly!

he next absolute necessity to build a great golf swing is the address position. This can be overlooked, but would you believe that when playing professionals get off their game, it is usually in the basics and that can quite often come from the address position.
Let’s start from the feet up. Generally, your feet will be parallel to the target line and shoulder width apart. There are 2 bends that are crucial; the bowing or bending at the hips and a little bend in the knees. This is an athletic posture that should feel like you are set to dive into the lake or ready to take off in a race. Weight will be evenly distributed on the feet. The lead arm is straight, and the trailing arm is relaxed. The hands for a right-handed player are at the inside of the left thigh.
One thing I hear a lot from players after a poor shot is “I lifted my head” or “I didn’t keep my head still.” Let’s be very clear and put a different spin on that: If your head moved, it is because you lost your hip bend or your knee bend!!!!! Golf does not rely on hand/eye coordination. A repetitive swing is built around learning to stay in your posture as you move and rotate.

In Tennessee, we have 8-9 different species of hawks; one species is the red-shouldered hawk which can be found year-round.
Hawks of Tennessee can be hard to distinguish from each other. The red-shouldered hawk is easily mixed up with the red-tailed hawk, but one of the differences is actually found in their name. If you look at these red-shouldered hawk photos, you will see all the rusty coloring is mostly on their shoulders and down through their chest, whereas a red-tailed hawk will have more of “red” on top of their tails.
Most hawks usually like big open fields, but the red-shouldered hawk is a secretive raptor and avoids the more open areas and instead inhabits the woodlands along streams, river valleys, wet meadows, forested swamps, and damp woods. In the wintertime, the red-shouldered hawk likes to eat more warm-blooded animals rather than the summer where their meals usually consist more of cold-blooded animals.

February is a month of mixed sig-
nals. One day it’s warm enough to believe spring has sprung early; the next, you wake up to a dusting of snow. For gardeners, February is less about digging in the dirt and more about getting ready for the season ahead.
Tidy Up, Don’t Tear Up
If the weather cooperates and the ground isn’t saturated, February is a good time to clean up garden beds. Remove fallen branches and any obvious debris. This is not the moment for aggressive soil work! East Tennessee clay does not appreciate being handled when wet, and it will remember the insult all year. If the soil sticks to your boots, step away.
Leave perennial crowns, hollow stems, and ornamental grasses alone for now as they’re still offering protection to beneficial insects. You can trim them back later in March when new growth begins to show. Really tall stems can be cut back to 18”24”, but don’t shear them off at the ground. Not only are good bugs sleeping in there, but the coverage also protects the tender crown of growth at the base. Think editing, not erasing.
Pruning with Purpose
February is prime time for pruning many trees and shrubs while they’re dormant. Apples, peaches, blueberries, and
grape vines benefit from winter pruning to improve structure and air circulation. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches, and remember - you can always take more off later, but you can’t put it back on!
Roses - especially hybrid teas and floribundas - can also be pruned now. Use sharp pruners and aim for a vase shape 24”(ish) tall. Keep 5 or so main branches and take out anything growing toward the inside, crossing, or smaller than a pencil. If unsure, Google or YouTube how to do it.
Other summer blooming shrubs such as butterfly bushes, crape myrtles, panicle hydrangeas, gardenias, and Rose of Sharon can also be pruned now. Remember, no crape murder! You are performing surgery, so educate yourself and sharpen your tools.
Avoid pruning spring-flowering shrubs like azaleas, forsythia, and hydrangeas that bloom on old wood. Flower buds are already set, and cutting now sacrifices spring blooms. The internet can be your friendmake sure to look at instructions for Zones 6 and 7. Our northern and southern neighbors may have a different schedule.
Soil: Test Before You Treat
February is an excellent time to test your soil. A basic soil test will tell you pH levels and nutrient needs, helping you avoid the common mistake of adding fertilizer just because it feels productive. Many East Tennessee soils are naturally acidic, which
works well for blueberries and azaleas but may need adjustment for vegetables. Soil testing kits are available at your local UT Extension office, or get fancy ones online. Also, remember that the soil can vary in different parts of your yard! My backyard is acidic and my front yard is alkaline, so don’t assume it’s all the same.
Once you have results, you can plan amendments for spring. Lime, sulfur, compost, and organic matter all take time to work into the soil, so knowing what you need now puts you ahead.
Start Seeds - But Not a Jungle Seed catalogs are at their most persuasive in February, and restraint is a valuable gardening skill. Do you really need 400 tomato seeds? The average last frost date here falls around mid April, which means most warm-season vegetables like tomatoes and peppers should not be started indoors until late February or early March. Onions, leeks, and cool-season greens can be started now, as can flowers like petunias and snapdragons.
Planting your own seeds is very much trial and error. Keep in mind that local garden centers - not to be confused with big box stores - have a good selection of starter plants and folks that can explain how to grow them!
Plan with Realism (and Hope) February is when garden plans look

perfect on paper. Take advantage of that optimism, but temper it with realism. Remember how I suggested you track your successes and failures? Think about what did well and what didn’t, whether we’re talking about shrubs, perennials, annuals, vegetables, or herbs, and adjust accordingly. Watch the Weather, Protect the Plants Warm spells in February often coax bulbs and perennials into early growth. Some of my bulbs are already up and going! A severe, sudden cold snap can damage tender new shoots so cover vulnerable plants if temperatures drop. I use pinestraw or evergreen branches left over from Christmas to cover mine.
A Month of Preparation
February gardening is about patience and preparation. You’re laying the groundwork for the busy months ahead. Do the quiet work now: clean, prune, test, plan. Spring will arrive whether you’re ready or not, but it’s much more enjoyable when you are.

gifts on Christmas morning, one of the greatest treasures

we received were the words of our loved ones, and the laughter of our children and grandchildren.
Is there any more magical sound than the laughter of a child?
Unfortunately, for many of us, experiencing that treasure grows more and more difficult over time. Sometimes we don’t even notice until that treasure eludes us altogether. When we, or a spouse, parent, or grandparent experience hearing loss, it can come as a shock, and create a sense of separation we could never imagine before. One may compensate by turning up the volume on the television or asking loved ones to speak louder and clearer. A good friend or spouse may repeat what others say when in circumstances where background noise or mumbling may seem to be the culprit.
For some, it’s difficult to acknowledge they suffer from hearing loss, believing it’s an admission of advancing age or weakness. But denying that it is happening and refusing help from others comes with its own additional hardships, as untreated hearing loss can exacerbate loss of other senses, such as balance and cognitive function, making this period of transition in life all the more difficult.
While it’s true that most hearing loss occurs as we age, just as corrective lenses can overcome loss of 20/20 vision, so too hearing loss can be likewise addressed. And thanks to the technological advances in today’s hearing instruments, it’s possible for you, your friend, or family member to again lead full and active lives.
Have no fear. The new hearing aids we sell are not your grandma’s hearing aids! People will not even notice you’re wearing them. Participate once more in everyday conversation, confident that your ears won’t get you into trouble.
This last Christmas may have come with some disappointments if you found yourself realizing the difficulties of simply hearing the conversations of your family and friends, the laughter of the children around you, or the carols filled with holiday spirit. But instead of seeing this as a loss, think of it as a wakeup call - the nudge you needed to take action.
What comes next? Get yourself or your loved one in for a free hearing test and evaluation of your/their current hearing situation. Yes, it’s free, and it’s that easy. Experience the compassionate care that you will only find at Tellico Hearing Solutions. Remember, Robert is not only a Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, but he is also a hearing instrument wearer. Call us today and make this new year one you will remember. There is nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

Mornings are rarely calm. Between alarm clocks, coffee cups, and the rush to get out the door, even small frustrations can set the tone for the entire day. That’s why your closet—often overlooked and underappreciated—can quietly become the unsung hero of your morning routine when it’s designed with intention.
At The Tailored Closet of Knoxville, custom closets are designed around how you actually live, not how a builder assumed you might. Instead of wasted corners, overcrowded rods, and piles that never quite stay organized, a custom closet transforms your daily routine into something smoother, calmer, and more efficient.
Think about how much time you spend searching for the “right” outfit. A custom closet places everything exactly where it belongs—shirts at eye level, shoes neatly displayed, accessories within easy reach. Adjustable shelving, double hanging rods, and dedicated drawer space eliminate guesswork and cut down on decision fatigue. When your space works for you, getting dressed becomes quicker and far less stressful.
Lighting plays a bigger role than most homeowners realize. Poorly lit closets can make colors look off and details hard to see. Integrated lighting in a custom closet brightens the space evenly, helping you confidently choose what to wear without second-guessing. It’s a small detail that makes a noticeable difference when every minute counts.
Custom closets also adapt to your habits. Are you a grab-and-go dresser who prefers outfits preplanned for the week? Or someone who likes everything visible at once?
From valet rods and pullout hampers to jewelry drawers and shoe towers, each element is selected to support how you move through your morning— not force you to adapt to the space.
Beyond efficiency, there’s an emotional benefit. Starting your day in an organized, clutter-free en-

vironment creates a sense of control and calm before stepping into a busy world. Instead of beginning the morning frustrated by mess or limited space, you begin with clarity and confidence. A custom closet doesn’t shout for attention like a kitchen renovation or new flooring might. Instead, it quietly
supports you every single day. It’s there when you’re rushing to work, getting kids ready for school, or heading out for an evening event. That’s what makes it the true unsung hero of your morning routine—working behind the scenes to make life just a little easier, every day. If your mornings feel rushed or chaotic, your closet may be part of the problem—and the solution. A custom closet from The Tailored Closet of Knoxville is designed to simplify your routine, reduce stress, and help you start every day with confidence.
