KITCHEN DESIGN OVER £100K NOMINATION FOR THIS CREEKSIDE KITCHEN PROJECT IN TEDDINGTON The kitchen was designed with its setting closely in mind. Oriented to make the most of the creekside views, where the family spend much of their time paddleboarding together. Inside, the materials echo the connection to the water, chosen and finished to reflect the ripples and gentle movement of the creek beyond the glass. Every sightline was considered to draw the outside in, creating a space that feels rooted in its surroundings. If the project resonates with you, we would be grateful for your vote.

VENETIAN PLASTER COOKER HOOD
PILL SHAPE BREAKFAST BAR
Each cabinet door is cut from the same length of oak, sequenced so the grain flows continuously from one panel to the next.
A sculptural, Venetian plaster hood forms the room's architectural focal point, with its soft texture, achieved with a specialist technique.
Rather than reading as individual doors, the run of tall units feels like a single, uninterrupted surface; considered craftsmanship in every detail.
Floating shelves either side keep the elevation open and light, balancing the hood's presence without closing in the space around it.
The pill-shaped worktop and curved, fluted oak leg soften the room's architectural lines, representing the gentle movement of the water beyond the window. It preserves the uninterrupted creek views from every seat, without blocking the sightline when entering the room.

In just six years, Et Lorem has built a strong reputation, supported by a comprehensive project portfolio from its team of kitchen experts, two design studios, a range of satellite stores, multiple industry award wins, and leadership roles following the appointment of CEO, Jamie Harding, as Education Director, and a member of the board at the Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA).

Now moving into its next chapter, Et Lorem is evolving the way it operates, closing the doors to its Reading studio as it creates a more focused model for how its teams collaborate, deliver projects and welcome clients. Jamie says, “When we opened our first independent retail space in Reading in 2021, the traditional showroom still played an important role in how clients explored kitchen design. Since then, the way people discover, research and make decisions about their homes has evolved considerably. Today, clients often come to us having already spent time gathering ideas through platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest. They have a much clearer sense of the look, atmosphere and feeling they want to create, and they are looking to us to interpret those ideas in a way that responds to their home and the way they live.
That shift has changed what we believe a design studio needs to be. Rather than trying to display every possible kitchen style, material or finish, we want our spaces to inspire conversation, encourage creativity and give clients the opportunity to experience the quality and detail of what we do. Our Beaconsfield studio reflects that more considered approach, alongside the increasingly collaborative way we work with interior designers, architects and other design professionals. Reading has played an incredibly important part in the Et Lorem story and our growth over the past six years but today, it no longer serves our needs. As we close the doors to the Reading studio, we are also moving our Head Office and Project Management teams to Winnersh Triangle, creating a dedicated base for the operational and delivery side of the business while our Beaconsfield studio continues to provide the creative environment in which we meet and work with our clients. This is a natural evolution of Et Lorem and of the way our clients now want to work with us. We are taking everything we have learnt from Reading forward as we continue to shape the next chapter of the business.”
STEPPING INTO THE FUTURE WITH ET LOREM Continuing to look ahead, Et Lorem is building on the momentum of its first six years, evolving its spaces and the way its teams work to support the next stage of the business. In identifying a change in customer behaviour following continued growth across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and the Home Counties, Beaconsfield will become Et Lorem’s flagship design studio from September 2026. Et Lorem’s decision to leave the Reading studio is part of a strategic move towards a more flexible, experience-led approach to luxury kitchen design. Jamie explains, “We want to lead by example. Our decision to streamline the business marks the beginning of a new chapter for Et Lorem, and the next stage for our brand within the luxury design space.”

SPOTLIGHT BLENDING MODERN LUXURY WITH CLASSIC DESIGN ELEMENTS IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE THOUGHTFUL DESIGN In Gerrards Cross, Et Lorem designed a bespoke in-frame kitchen for a detached family home, blending modern luxury with classic architectural detail. Hand-painted cabinetry in a deep green hue sits alongside warm walnut accents and a full-height marble-effect splashback in soft gold and honey tones. At its heart, a generous island offers a central cook zone and relaxed dining for four, finished with brass hardware that catches the light. A kitchen shaped by how this family lives.
DESIGNED WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH BY JADE JONES “With a strong personal connection to the client, this kitchen is made truly special by our unique design concept and trademark attention to detail," says designer Jade Jones. The client originally pictured light grey cabinets with a dark blue island. Jade suggested something different: dark shaker-style cabinetry paired with real wood accents, for a signature blend of contrast and texture. "As soon as they saw the display, they loved the new concept," Jade adds. The finished kitchen carries that shift throughout — rich cabinetry, walnut detailing, and brass hardware with a distinct knurled finish, tying the space together into something considered and entirely tailored to the way this family lives.
