Summer is prime time for eating sun-soaked, fresh off-the-vine fruits and veggies! With crisp produce at its peak flavor and availability, campers prepare dishes featuring vibrant flavors and creative preparation styles under the guidance of a Vetri Community Partnership educator. This exciting week features gardenfresh ingredients that are grown in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey regions, as well as lots of cool food for warm weather. Campers will also get plenty of practice mastering knife skills, kitchen safety, various cooking techniques and team collaboration. Featured ingredients include peaches, melons, berries, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, beets and more.

Spend a week of your summer learning how to master the sweet, aromatic and warm recipes for Fall! Working with ingredients that are grown in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey regions, campers discover the cozy flavors and sweet tastes of autumn! Under the guidance of a Vetri Community Partnership educator, campers produce
a variety of delicious and hearty recipes each day while getting plenty of practice mastering knife skills, kitchen safety, various cooking techniques and team collaboration. With an emphasis on the creative use of fall-focused spices and the fusion of seasonal flavors, featured ingredients will include pears, apples, corn, sweet potatoes, figs and more.

“Patrick grew up cooking with his grandfather, so when ESF offered Vetri Chef Academy for the first time, we immediately enrolled him. It was one of those programs that really empowers kids to learn culinary skills and techniques, like how to properly prepare foods, safely chop ingredients, and sauté vegetables. He learned multiple new recipes every day—foods like gumbo, jambalaya, soft pretzels, pizza, and cheesecake (his favorite ESF Vetri recipe). The camp sparked something in him and cooking has become his passion.”

In this exciting program, campers gain a hands-on introduction to design thinking, programming and project-based learning. An immersive environment inspires learning, exploration, creativity and fun. Campers design and build their own projects through a variety of collaborative games, innovative activities and cutting-edge technology programs. Perfect for young campers who want to develop skills in technology, design and teamwork.

FIRST STEPS ROBOTICS
Your child’s path to discovering robotics starts here! In this interactive program, campers explore the world of robotics, visual coding and creativity using Ozobots and Dash & Dot! Campers learn programming, design thinking and problem-solving while working in teams to code their robots’ behaviors, dream up new adventures and engage in self-guided missions! No prior experience is required. Hardware: Ozobots, Dash & Dot, Tablets (iPads).
What is code and what can we build with it? Campers spend the week learning about the fundamentals of coding by developing logic games and puzzles with BSD Online. With absolutely no prior experience required, campers jump right in to writing real code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript®) using industry standard software and best practices. Over the course of the week, they are introduced to new programming concepts and fundamentals while creating unique projects with realworld applications.

JUNIOR MINECRAFT® AND ROBLOX®
This program fuses together two of the most popular gaming platforms in the world to offer campers the gaming experience of a lifetime! Campers embark on a virtual adventure as they exercise their creativity in an atmosphere centered on “world building” and interaction. Campers learn about environment and game construction using Minecraft and Roblox® while using drag-and-drop visual tools to imagine, design, build, and play in their custom game creations. No prior experience is required.

Turn camp into a tech lab while exploring the exciting world of robotics! Scratch® coding camp provides campers with a great introduction to computer programming. Using Scratch®, an educational application created by the MIT Media Lab, campers learn the basics of software development in a sophisticated yet easy-to-learn environment. Imagination and creativity come to life as campers photograph elements of camp life and collaborate with their team to create short-form multimedia projects. No experience necessary.

In this exciting camp, Minecraft® enthusiasts have the opportunity to customize their game further than ever before! MakeCode® allows players to exercise complete control over Minecraft®’s many systems while providing them with experience in writing real code, using dragand-drop tools to add and change features.

eSPORTS FOR THE GAMER
Campers have the opportunity to go “beyond the game” in ESF’s first eSports camp! eSports or “electronic sports” is one of the fastest growing industries
in the world and there is much more to it than simply playing a game. On this exciting journey, gamers and their teams enhance their critical thinking and communication skills through collaboration and the development of strategic tactics. Using the exciting game platform – NBA 2K19®, a basketball simulation video game, teams optimize their overall skill level, develop training routines, execute strategic plans and develop professional level playbooks! As a culminating event, campers will compete against gamers from other ESF camp locations through this online gaming environment. Will your team be the last one standing?

INDIE GAME DEVELOPER IN ROBLOX®
Learn what it takes to produce a real video game in this introduction to programming and game design. Using the massively popular Roblox® gaming platform, campers use drag-and-drop tools, the LUA programming language and a healthy dose of creativity to develop real, functioning games. At the end of this course, campers will release their games on the Roblox® website, allowing their friends to download and play their creations.

VIRTUAL REALITY: DESIGNING 3D WORLDS AND EXPERIENCES
In this camp, the adventurous and courageous will discover VR and utilize its unique features to create custom 3D environments and dive into amazing, immersive experiences. Using the HTC Vive virtual reality headset and a variety of cutting-edge tools, campers will explore strange new worlds and design their own virtual spaces to move through.

MAKE A SPLASH AT THE POOL!
Swimming is one of the most exciting parts of the camp day. Under the guidance and watchful eye of our American Red Cross certified lifeguards and instructors, campers develop life skills too valuable to measure while learning how to swim confidently in a safe and fun environment. We maintain a low staff to camper ratio.
We develop swimmers utilizing the latest teaching techniques and coaching methods. Beginning with water safety skills and basic fundamentals, we then move on to progressive stroke development and refinement of techniques. Our well-established program is designed to be compatible with the unique and ever-changing abilities and skill levels of each camper.

There are two great ways to extend your camp day. Attend Club OT, our flexible, before and aftercare program. Enroll in private enrichment lessons in swimming, sports and academic tutoring. Try one or try them both!

Extend your camp day by using ESF’s Club OT program, on a weekly or a drop-in basis. Start your day as early as 7:30am and stay as late as 6:00pm. Club OT campers are divided into groups by age and will enjoy NEW and ENHANCED activities including sports, games, crafts, book club, drama, and more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments are provided.

Our “Save Your Cart” feature allows you to start your enrollment selections, save them, share them with family and friends, and then finish enrollment at a later time. Once your enrollment is complete, you will receive a confirmation email and an order receipt. If you are an alumni family, we encourage you to use the same email address you used to enroll last camp season. The portal will give you access to 1) your camper’s enrollment, 2) add lunches, 3) pay balances and/or 4) complete any online supplemental camp forms required before the start of camp.
PAYMENTS
A 15% deposit will be due at the time of enrollment. The balance of tuition is due by June 1 or June 15, 2019 (depending on the monthly payment option selected at time of registration). Registrations after June 15, 2019, will be required to be paid in full at time of enrollment.

HEALTH HISTORY RECORD
For the health and safety of all campers, no child will be allowed to attend camp without a completed ESF Health History Record on file.
LIMITED ENROLLMENT
To maintain a low camper to staff ratio and to ensure a quality experience for your child, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
CANCELLATIONS & CREDIT POLICY
If you need to cancel your child’s enrollment, you must notify us in writing by April 1, 2019. Full cancellations made on or prior to this date are subject to a $100 fee, per child, and a registration fee of $50 per family. If cancellation is made after April 1 through May 1, 2019, we will issue you a credit for all tuition fees paid, valid through the following calendar year. Your credit is transferable to any family member and may be used for any ESF program. Please Note: no refunds or credits will be given out after May 2, 2019 regardless of your registration date, vacation, or illness. Changes in enrolled weeks are based on availability. Effective June 1, 2019 a $25.00 transfer fee will be applied for enrollment changes made once camp starts.
