Escuela Americana is an exceptional international private bilingual school offering premier education from Pre-Kinder 3 through 12th grade. We are dedicated to providing our students with the foundation for a lifelong journey of connecting experiences, creating meaning, and exploring challenges to become agents of positive change.

AUTHENTIC LEARNING

Students at EA learn in a supportive and academically rigorous environment. Escuela Americana values both tradition and innovation, offering a strong foundation in STEAM education supported by Smart Labs and a LEED-registered FabLab.

Each student’s education is personalized through a robust support system. With access to authentic learning experiences, global perspectives, and a flexible curriculum, students are empowered to discover their strengths and achieve their goals.

THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM

(PK3 - PK4)

PK3 and PK4 follow the Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive, research-based approach that emphasizes hands-on exploration, discovery, and intentional teaching. This curriculum supports the whole child’s development—cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical—through meaningful experiences tailored to individual learning styles.

The Creative Curriculum promotes:

• Development of self-regulation, curiosity, and problemsolving skills.

• Goal setting and fostering a strong sense of well-being.

• Language-rich environments that encourage communication and vocabulary growth.

• Social skills through cooperative play and respectful interactions.

• Physical development with activities that build coordination and motor skills.

Our educators carefully observe each child to plan individualized learning experiences that encourage creativity and confidence in a nurturing and joyful environment.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (GRADES K - 5)

Our Elementary program builds on foundational skills with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning through the Workshop Model. This model fosters student engagement by combining focused mini-lessons, active practice, and reflective collaboration, encouraging independence and critical thinking.

We follow the AERO (American Education Reaches Out) standards, ensuring a rigorous and internationally benchmarked curriculum across all subjects. This framework helps students meet clear, high academic expectations aligned with global best practices.

Key program features include:

• Strong focus on reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.

• Integration of arts, STEAM, and physical education to develop well-rounded learners.

• Development of executive functioning skills such as organization, goal-setting, and time management.

• Personalized instruction in small classes to support diverse learning needs.

• Standards-Based Grading that provides clear feedback and promotes mastery and a growth mindset.

This approach prepares students not only academically but also socially and emotionally for the challenges of Middle School and beyond.

LIVING OUR VALUES THE HOUSE COLOR PROGRAM

Our Elementary House Color Program brings students together across grades to build community, teamwork, and school spirit.

Each House is named and designed around our core values— Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Kindness—encouraging students to live these principles daily. Through friendly competitions, collaborative projects, and service activities, children learn the importance of belonging, leadership, and supporting one another, creating a positive and inclusive environment that reflects the heart of our school culture.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

(GRADES 6 TO 8)

Middle School is a time for exploration, curiosity, and growth. Our program supports students as they transition into adolescence, offering a rigorous curriculum paired with guidance in executive functioning and social-emotional development.

Students learn to manage time, plan ahead, collaborate effectively, and reflect on their learning. Integrated interdisciplinary units and project-based learning foster critical thinking and real-world connections.

Middle School students also have access to international opportunities such as our Washington, D.C. leadership trip and participation in the Coded Experience program, which foster global awareness, digital fluency, and personal growth.

HIGH SCHOOL

(GRADES 9 TO 12)

Our High School program prepares students for top universities around the world. Students engage in advanced coursework, including Advanced Placement (AP) Courses and One Schoolhouse Online Courses.

With personalized college counseling starting in Grade 9, students develop academic plans aligned with their strengths, interests, and aspirations. They take ownership of their learning and prepare to lead with confidence in a global society.

EA also offers numerous leadership opportunities through student-led clubs, community service programs, Model United Nations, honor societies, student government, and Minimester—a unique week-long experience where students explore diverse interests, engage in interdisciplinary projects, or participate in service-learning opportunities. These experiences build character, initiative, collaboration, and a sense of civic responsibility.

DEVELOPING EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING SKILLS

From Elementary through High School, EA prioritizes the development of executive functioning skills. Students learn to organize tasks, manage their time, self-monitor, and adapt strategies for learning.

Through reflective practices, mentoring, and structured independence, students gain the tools needed to thrive academically and personally.

STEAM EDUCATION

EA is a national leader in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Students gain real-world problem-solving experience starting in Pre-Kinder 3 and continuing through High School.

Our state-of-the-art STEAM Labs and Fabrication Lab allow students to explore, invent, and innovate using cutting-edge tools and technologies.

EXPLORING IMAGINATION

The Arts are essential to the development of the whole child. Visual and Performing Arts provide students with a platform to unleash their creativity and express their unique perspectives. By engaging in artistic activities, students learn to think outside the box, explore new ideas, and express themselves in meaningful ways.

Starting in Pre-Kinder 3, students have numerous opportunities to participate in the Arts: curricular music, dance, drama, visual arts classes, band and choir, musicals, art exhibits, drama productions, talent shows, and more.

ATHLETICS: AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

We believe that a well-rounded education includes physical development and teamwork. Our Athletics Program offers a wide range of sports, ensuring every student finds their passion. With top-notch facilities and experienced coaches, we foster sportsmanship, discipline, and a healthy competitive spirit. At EA, our athletes thrive on and off the field.

Sports offered include: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Wall Climbing, Ping Pong, Chess, and Weight Training.

COUNSELING PROGRAM

Our comprehensive Counseling Program supports students’ academic, emotional, and social development. A team of seven counselors works across all school divisions to guide students through challenges and transitions.

We integrate RULER, an evidence-based emotional intelligence program developed at Yale University, helping students recognize and manage emotions, build empathy, and foster positive relationships.

COLLEGE COUNSELING

In partnership with Blue Ivy Coaching, EA provides individualized college counseling from Grade 9 onward. Students receive expert guidance in choosing the right-fit university and navigating the application process. With support from dedicated international advisors, our students are equipped to pursue their post-secondary goals with confidence.
