Bearing inserts for harsh environments Situation A major aggregate producer was experiencing regular failures of the housed bearing units on their stone conveyors. Ingress of dust and dirt, as well as impacts to the seals was identified as the route cause of failure.
Solution
The heavy-duty zinc-plated shield provides protection against impacts, and the internal triple lip seal provides excellent resistance to the ingress of contamination. As a lubricated for life bearing, the customer no longer needed to consider relubrication intervals, particularly beneficial where access to bearings was difficult.

A NTN/SNR AGR insert was supplied to replace the existing bearing insert, providing enhanced sealing for such an aggressive environments along with a more robust shield against flying debris.
