Welcome to The Sharon® L. Morse Performing Arts Center! We are so grateful to re-open our doors after such a trying season. We invite you back to view the national and international performing art tours we host here for your entertainment. Much like the building’s namesake, my grandmother, Sharon L. Morse, we love all varieties of the performing arts here. It is in her memory that I, along with my amazing team of artists and arts administrators, strive to bring many different types of the highest quality entertainment here to The Sharon. Since opening in 2015, we hope we have established a relationship of trust; that any show at The Sharon will be a show worth seeing. Perhaps you find yourself here today to see a concert of one of your favorite musicians, or to take in the national tour of a Broadway show. Either way, we encourage you to consider trying out a new show that perhaps you haven’t heard of before, knowing that it has been intentionally curated by our team. We welcome you to The Sharon: a place for you to see an old favorite, but also a place to discover your new favorite. A NOTE FROM THE MAESTRO Dear Friends, This Sunday, Labor Day weekend, September 5th kicks off the beginning of The Villages® Philharmonic Orchestra's 18th season. I am honored and privileged to share the stage with this group of wonderful musicians that make up The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra. These incredibly talented musicians help make my job easy in honoring the vast repertoire of past and present composers. This week will be our Labor Day Concert and will feature many amazing and talented Artists including; Alfreda Gerald, Shari Beshers, Marcella Richardson, Clark Barrios, Norman Lee and Sean Christopher Stork. To open our September concert series, a select group of our musicians from The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra will treat you to a pre-concert performance in the lobby. In addition to Sunday's inaugural concert, there will be more exciting artists and concerts to come throughout The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra's 2021-2022 season. We have always appreciated the support and will continue to provide quality world-class concerts and artists for your enjoyment. GUEST ARTISTS CLARK BARRIOS The name Clark Barrios has become synonymous with a musical talent that is both universal and entertaining. Born in New Orleans and raised by his grandparents, young Clark's first musical exposure was through the recognition he achieved singing in the church choir at the tender age of 5. This recognition led to a Musical Scholarship at Loyola University. Recognizing that music and entertaining would become his life challenge, Clark began a musical quest which would ultimately bring happiness and joy to thousands of people in audiences and on stages across the country. Chasing a dream has led him from New Orleans to Atlanta to Las Vegas to Austin to Orlando twice and now to his home here in Central Florida. This gifted performer/singer is excited to share his vocal gifts with the audiences here in The Villages.

SHARI BESHERS Shari (Marien) Beshers from Davison and Torch Lake, MI, has been singing professionally since age 12. She started at well known venue Bavarian Inn at Frankenmuth, MI, performing during the summer season with a trio formed by Laurie LaCross Wright, guitarist/singer with Billboard Blues Charting Rusty Wright Band. At age 14, Shari auditioned to sing with Barnstorm, the house band at northern Michigan entertainment venue Brownwood at Torch Lake. Throughout her high school years she performed each summer along with fellow residents of The Villages, Rebecca Morse and Oscar Feliu, who she regards fondly as mentors respectively. She continued her career traveling throughout the southeast U.S. with members of the Brownwood band that became Torch, eventually making Atlanta, GA. her home. Shari was a member of Atlanta band The Rupert’s Orchestra, Band X, and formed The Ruckus. Shari studied music and photography at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, and is a photographer/multimedia designer. In recent years, she joined several other original Brownwood Michiganders in becoming a resident of The Villages, FL.

Her voice can be heard on national commercial jingles including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, General Motors, Ford, Nissan, Honda, McDonald’s, KFC, Church’s, Popeye’s, Hardee’s, Arby’s, Toyota, Motorola, Texas Pete Hot Sauce, The Georgia Lottery, Marriott, Dixie Crystals Sugar, TBS, The Cartoon Network, Space Ghost: Coast To Coast, and was a featured vocalist in Tyler Perry’s box office hit, Madea’s Witness Protection. She has also appeared on the NBC series The Detour, Game Of Silence, and more. Alfreda is a graduate of Mars Hill University, The Julliard School, Westminster Choir College, and the North Carolina School of the Arts, with degrees in Music Education and Opera Performance.

MARCELLA RICHARDSON Marcella Richardson started her singing career in northern Michigan, Torch Lake area, at a family restaurant called Brownwood. She went on to travel with a 10-piece show band that started from Brownwood called TORCH. She continued to travel the country performing and eventually formed her own groups with partners based out of Atlanta, GA. She has also done radio, TV jingles, and commercials. Eventually moving her business to The Villages, FL, in 2010 she started singing in The Pops and Holiday Concerts with The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra. Along with performing with The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, she studies and competes in ballroom dancing.

GUEST ARTISTS NORMAN LEE As a lifelong entertainer, Norman Lee has raised the bar, bringing a faith based presentation to a population striving to find substance in their daily lives. Based out of Central Florida, Norman has toured across the country for many years, performing on concert stages, charitable events and churches. He has appeared on numerous local and national television shows and his music has national radio air play. Norman has opened up for such acts as George Jones, Kenny Rogers, The Temptations, Lou Rawls, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Brenda Lee, Travis Tritt, Lori Morgan, Loretta Lynn, Marty Stuart, Ray Price, Juice Newton, The Judds and LeAnn Rimes. Norman Lee the singer songwriter is a charismatic performer whose music appeals to all ages. His music combines Praise and Worship, Contemporary Christian and Gospel into one spirit filled sound.

SEAN CHRISTOPHER STORK Sean Christopher Stork, lyric baritone, has been singing across the state of Florida since graduating from Florida State University in 2007, including regular engagements with Opera Tampa as well as First Coast Opera in St. Augustine, The Florida Lyric Opera in Tampa, and the Villages Philharmonic, Imperial Symphony, and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestras. A strong supporter of modern music, his original works have been recorded on two CDs by the Basilica Choir of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe. Mr. Stork is currently performing across the country with Diversita Opera Arts Company, Opera Tampa, The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra; Orlando Philharmonic; The Hudson Valley Chorale; Orlando Harmony; Orlando Exchange; the Dickens Carolers; and the Basilica Choir of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe.

LOBBY QUARTET ARTISTS ROY GARCIA The Venezuelan cellist Roy Garcia was born in Coro, Falcón state in 1972. He began his cello studies and music theory in The System of Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, (awarded with the Prince of Asturias award in 2008 and by UNESCO’s international musician price). From his hometown, he then moved to Caracas to continue his instrumental and chamber music studies at the Simón Bolivar Conservatory of Music. He finished his studies at the Higher Institute of Musical Studies in Venezuela. He has participated in master classes with the Maestros and Maestras: Alisa Weilerstein, Franz Helmerson, Philipe Müller. Phillipe Tribot, Viola Hofmeister, Adalverto Skocic, Tatiana Vajsilieva, Martin Making, Natalia Guttman, and Yo yo Ma. He has acted as a soloist under the baton of many Maestros in which they stand out: Gustavo Dudamel. Eduardo Rhan, Eduardo Marturet, acting with them in the most important concert halls in the country. His outstanding career as a musician has led him to obtain some decorations, among which the Order Jóse Félix Ribas stands out as the most important prize awarded to a young man by the president of the Republic of Venezuela at that time. In 2011, he was awarded man of the year in the cultural field and a Latin Grammy Award with the Simón Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. In 2019, he won an Emmy Juan to the MDCTV award in Florida. Previously, in his native country, he won the competition for the main cellist position in the cellist line of the Falcón Symphony Orchestra, Venezuela. Years later he went to the city of Caracas, Venezuela where he competed to serve as the main cellist in the acclaimed Simón Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. He repeatedly served as the main cellist of the cello line with the Orchestra. Through that the Orchestra, he had the opportunity to tour many countries of the world including: The United States, Abu Dhabi, Japan, China, Switzerland, England, Turkey, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Russia. Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and many others. He has performed under the direction of today’s most acclaimed orchestra directors such as: Claudio Abbado, Eduardo Mata, Zubin Mehta, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Daniel Barenboim, James Judd, Sir Simón Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, and many others. In his career he has ventured into rhe field of orchestra conducting by conducting several of the best orchestras in Venezuela. His pedagogical work stands out in the work done with the young Venezuelan cellists which whom he has collaborated in the System of Youth Orchestras 352-751-7799

LOBBY QUARTET ARTISTS and the Children of Venezuela. He he was Musical Director of the Latin American Academy of Cello, serving students from all over Latin America. His career pedagogy led him to teach master classes in countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, The United States, and Curacao, among others.

IMANUEL SANDOVAL GUALDRÓN Venezuelan violinist and musician, Imanuel David Sandoval Gualdrón, was born in Caracas Venezuela, December 19, 1983. His musical career began at an early age, when he became a part of the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela where he grew to become a pillar of the musical world in Venezuela. Having been a part of this prestigious symphony orchestra, he had the honor of directing the Venezuelan National Anthem for Dr. Rafael Caldera, then President of Venezuela. Since 2002, Imanuel has taught workshops and master classes to more than two thousand children and young adults through the prestigious Él Sistema, the national system of orchestras in Venezuela, Argentina, the United States, Scotland and Switzerland. He has shared the stage with more than 20 artists of international stature such as Yuja Wang, Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, among others. Through his work with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Maestro José Antonio Abreu, he has received numerous prizes and recognitions from distinguished international organizations such as UNICEF, Artists for Peace of UNESCO, and WQXR Gramophone Award. His musical gifts and talents have enabled Imanuel to serve as part of the jury with various orchestras in Venezuela and is currently a voting member of the Latin Grammy Recording Academy. In addition, Imanuel has been a part of more than 30 recording projects as member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. Throughout his musical career, Imanuel has represented Venezuela in more than 50 cities around the world, including the most prestigious of theater halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Golden Hall in Vienna and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles among others. In 2008, Imanuel received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Classical Album, for the album titled, Fiesta. Also that year he was bestowed the Prince of Asturias Award, together with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and renowned Maestro José Antonio Abreu. 10

LOBBY QUARTET ARTISTS In 2009, he was among the few selected to be a part of the Ibero-American Youth Orchestra, which landed him concert tours in select cities throughout Europe. Later in 2013, he was part of the orchestra accompanying Spanish artist Calle 13 at the Latin Grammy’s and in 2017 he received an award for Best Tropical Album for the project titled, Bidimensional. These experiences have given rise to an artistic, musical and pedagogical career of more than 18 years. Each of those years have convinced Imanuel that music truly is the universal language through which a sense of awareness can be awakened, one that connects us to our humanity. Since his arrival to Miami, Imanuel has been actively engaged with various orchestras such as The Villages® Philharmonic Orchestra, Miami Symphony Orchestra, South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Space Coast Symphony and Miami Dade College Orchestra, through which he earned the prestigious Emmy for Special Event Coverage. In 2019, he earned the distinguished honor to perform as Concertmaster for The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Pasquale Valerio.

JOSE ANTONIO GUÉDEZ He was born in San Felipe, Yaracuy state and began his violin studies at the age of 8, under the tutelage of maestro Samuel Parra at the "Blanca Estrella de Mescoli" Music School. The training of his career as a violinist continued under the preparation and guidance of teachers Raúl Rodríguez, Jesus Sira, Geronimo Isturiz, Rhio Sánchez, Francisco Diaz, Sergio Celis and Luis Miguel Gonzales, also participating in different Summer Courses organized by the "Academia Latinoamericana De Violín," where he had the opportunity to receive classes with teachers of the stature of Alvaro Lares, Victor Vivas, Pablo Vasquez, Roberto Valdés, Ana Beatriz Manzanilla, Rhio Sánchez, Alejandro Mendoza, Francisco Diaz and the renowned teacher Jose Francisco Del Castillo. He was an active member of the Chair of Chamber Music of Professor Evelyn Soteldo at the "Vicente Emilio Sojo" Conservatory of Music in the City of Barquisimeto. Alternating instrumental performance with teaching, in 2010 he obtained the title of Teacher in Music Education at the "Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador" (UPEL). 352-751-7799

LOBBY QUARTET ARTISTS In his musical career from an early age orchestral activity has always been present, forming part of important and recognized groups such as: The Yaracuy State Children's and Youth Symphony, Yaracuy State Symphony, Lara State Youth Symphony, Lara State Symphony, Venezuela National Children's Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra Of The Americas (YOA) in its 2005 and 2006 edition representing Venezuela as the second violins principal in international tours in Europe and South America. He was a member of the second violins Section of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, conducted by Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, with which he participated in concerts and international tours in countries such as Sweden, Russia, Norway, Greece, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Austria, England, Turkey, Switzerland, the United States, the Netherlands, the Dominican Republic, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France and Italy. He currently resides in the State of Florida in the city of Miami where he makes an artistic life as a guest musician with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra under the conducting of Maestro Aaron Collins, The Villages Phillarmonie Orchestra conducted by Maestro Pasquale Valerio and Charlotte Symphony. Orchestra in the city of Punta Gorda, he is also a collaborator in the Miami Dade College Symphony Orchestra under the conducting of Maestro Alberto Bade, he is an orchestral trainer of the string section in the International School of Music, conducted by Maestra Maria Salas, is a member of The Violin section of the Kameristika Chamber Orchestra under the preparation of Maestro German Marcano and is part of First Violins section of the Bolívar Phil Orchestra, he is also the first violin of the Exodus String Quartet, recently he was awarded as "Emmy Award Recipient" for his participation in the tribute and recording of the works of The Jackie Gleason Show with the Miami Dade College Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Alberto Bade.

LOBBY QUARTET ARTISTS KRYSTOF SREBRAKOWSKI Krystof Srebrakowski was born in the South - Western part of Poland next to the German border, half-way between Prague and Berlin. He started taking regular piano, organ and music theory lessons at the age of five. His teacher was of German origin, rooted in the traditions of great composers of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods of history. Krystof was exposed to the works of masters as a child, and his love towards music grew constantly. After graduating from the Institute Of Education in Arts (in Czestochowa, Poland) with Bachelor’s Degree, he moved to Boston and studied jazz piano performance at Berklee College of Music (1994). In 1996 he permanently settled down in Orlando, and began performing as a pianist/organist at Walt Disney World, where he played all possible theme park shows, countless conventions, recitals, and live concerts. In a meantime he was also an audition pianist for Cirque Du Soleil and full-time accompanist for Orlando Ballet. Since 1998, Krystof has been appearing regularly onstage with Jodi Benson (the voice of Disney's The Little Mermaid). He was also a pianist for the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, shared the stage with David Sanborn, Fernando Varela, Bernie Williams, and toured worldwide as a keyboardist with Julio Iglesias. He produced, composed and recorded several albums. Krystof was a full-time bandleader for the Phil Collins show at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Tarzan Rocks which ran from 1999 until 2006. He had an opportunity to analyze film scores, learn mechanics of music-to-picture synchronization etc. He composed music for two independent full-length films and several short films. Currently Krystof works as a featured organist for NHL Tampa Bay Lightning, and as Disney’s special events pianist. He continues to perform as a piano/celesta player with Breward Symphony Orchestra, The Villages Symphony Orchestra and Orlando Philharmonics. His orchestral compositions have been featured in live concerts in Central Florida. Krystof is also working on his music-theory book Symmetry In Music. In the Summer of 2017 Krystof was a featured pianist for the Pixar Live show at Disney Hollywood Studios, where he had an opportunity to perform on stage film music with the full orchestra. In the summer of 2018 Krystof was a featured pianist for the musical Something Wonderful based on Broadway music by Rodgers & Hammerstein (selections from timeless musicals My Fair Lady, Sound Of Music, Oklahoma, Carousel, Cinderella and many more…). He also had an opportunity to perform live with the Orlando Philharmonics full length score to Harry Potter by John Williams, synchronized to the movie. 352-751-7799
