National Preparedness Month – Emergency preparedness

It’s important to be prepared for any workplace emergency. Emergencies are unexpected and can be disastrous if you haven’t put mitigation strategies in place in advance. As the kids go back to school and work activity picks up, it’s important to understand the basic elements of an emergency action plan (EAP) and how they work.

Each department manager has an RED Emergency Action Plan three ring binder Inside are instructions on what to do for specific events and contact information for all department heads, corporate contacts and third party services such as police fire, gas and electric, etc. Also, there are EAP Flip Charts posted throughout the building which have the same information with instructions and contact information.
