Please join us in congratulating James Barton on his promotion to General Manager, PFS-Somerset Operating Company, effective August 25th, 2025, reporting to Barry Dorris, Regional President. James brings over 30 years of foodservice experience to this role. He began his career in 1995 at Laurel Grocery in London, KY, where he served as Warehouse Manager and later Transportation Manager for 12 years. Since joining Performance Foodservice Somerset in June 2011, James has held several key leadership positions including Transportation Manager, Area Manager, Director of Operations, and most recently, Vice President of Operations. James has also been selected to participate in the Performance Foodservice Experienced Leadership Program for 2025, a recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife Shay, their three children, and granddaughter. In his spare time, you’ll often find him coaching or cheering from the sidelines of a softball field, baseball diamond, or golf course, supporting his children in their athletic pursuits. Please join us in celebrating James’s achievements and wishing him continued success in his new role!
