Eric Clapton-owned Richter painting to sell in NYC Associated Press Writer

NEW YORK — An oil painting by German abstract artist Gerhard Richter from Eric Clapton’s collection is heading for a New York City auction. Christie’s auction house says “Abstraktes Bild” is estimated to sell for $20 million to $25 million on Nov. 12.

It says the English guitarist and songwriter bought the painting at auction in 2001. The large oil painting was executed in 1994. It has a rich palette of red, purple, violet and yellow evocative of a fall landscape. Richter’s “Domplatz, Mailand” set a record for any living artist at auction

RIO DE JANEIRO — Two American journalists known for their investigations of the United States’ government said Saturday they’ve teamed up to report on the National Security Agency’s role in what one called a “U.S. assassination program.” The journalists provided no evidence of the purported U.S. program at the news conference, nor details of who it targeted. Jeremy Scahill, a contributor to The Nation magazine and the New York Times best-selling author of “Dirty Wars,” said he will be working with Glenn Greenwald, the Rio-based journalist who has written stories about U.S. surveillance programs based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

“The connections between war and surveillance are clear. I don’t want to give too much away but Glenn and I are working on a project right now that has at its center how the National Security Agency plays a significant, central role in the U.S. assassination program,” said Scahill, speaking to moviegoers in Rio de Janeiro, where the documentary based on his book made its Latin American debut at the Rio Film Festival. “There are so many stories that

are yet to be published that we hope will produce ‘actionable intelligence,’ or information that ordinary citizens across the world can use to try to fight for change, to try to confront those in power,” said Scahill. “Dirty Wars” the film, directed by Richard Rowley, traces Scahill’s investigations into the Joint Special Operations Command, or JSOC. The movie, which won a prize for cinematography at the Sundance Film Festival, follows Scahill as he hopscotches around the globe, from Afghanistan to Yemen to Somalia, talking to the families of people killed in the U.S. strikes. Neither Scahill nor Greenwald, who also appeared at the film festival’s question and answer panel, provided many details about their joint project.

Hundreds of Islamic radicals held a prayer session in a mosque near the capital to express their anger, while Megan Young wept as she won the coveted title on Hindumajority Bali at the end of a three-week contest. The 23-year-old, wearing a pearl white gown, promised to be “the best Miss World ever” in front of a cheering crowd, which included many Filipinos, in a venue guarded by heavily armed police and water cannons. The final was moved to Bali, where there is little hardline influence, from its original venue just outside the capital Jakarta after thousands of protesters took to the streets across the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country. Denouncing the pageant as a “whore contest” and “pornography”, the demonstrators pressured authorities into shifting the venue, the latest sign of the growing influence of country’s hardline fringe. Hundreds of police were deployed across Bali for Saturday’s final, which saw 127 contestants clad in stilettos and shimmering gowns take to the stage in the Nusa Dua resort, southern Bali. The contestants were quickly whittled down to six. Then, they faced a question-and-answer round before the winner was announced in a contest broadcast to more than 180 countries. Young, the first ever Philippine Miss World, took the crown from last year’s winner, China’s Yu Wenxia. Young, who is studying digital media and also presents TV shows in the Philippines, pledged to “just be myself in everything I do, to share what I know and to educate people”. France’s Marine Lorphelin was second, while Ghana’s Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter came in third. Adding to security concerns in the run-up to the final, the American, British and Australian embassies had warned that extremists might attack the pageant. Bali has suffered extremist attacks before, notably in 2002 when bombings killed more than 200 people, most of them foreign tourists. But Saturday’s finale passed off smoothly, with no new protests or security scares -- despite a pledge by prominent hardline group the Islamic Defenders’ Front (FPI) to stage demonstrations. Flextravel Swiss and Pacto join hands to help SDN 1 Jegu

The SDN 1 Jegu elementary school in Penebel, Tabanan, received the arrival of a special guest on Saturday (Sep 28). The entourage of Swiss travel agency, TUI Travel Flex, was bridged by Pacto Ltd. to provide the assistance to the school. It consisted of school supplies and donations. Their arrival was enthusiastically welcomed by the students. The group arrived at 1:00 p.m. and was welcomed warmly by local students and teachers. The delivery of school goods took place after a short speech by Matthias Huwiler, Managing Director of Flextravel Switzerland,and Gunnel Burri, Product Director for Flextravel. They both appreciated the warm welcome given by the elementary school students. “We will show to Swiss travelers the condition of education and students in Bali. In fact, they are very enthusiastic about learning, including their participation in the extracurricular activities,” said Gunnel Burri in an emotional speech in German language. According to her, similar assistance will also be continued to other schools in Bali. Even, it would be packed in such a way into a tour package for travelers from Switzerland. Matthias Huwiler stressed that one of the future assistance will also be in the form of provision to disadvantaged students. He also also admired the diligence of the students to preserve their local culture. “With this CSR program, Flex Travel would like to express its concern for the community. Headmaster of the SDN 1 Jegu, Wayan Wijana, expressed his gratitude for the visit. He said that his school required a lot of helping hands, especially for the disadvantaged students. “We are grateful for the help extended. Hopefully, it could be useful for the students,” said Wijana while adding the SDN 1 Jegu had 83 students with 12 teaching staff. Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer Inbound of Pacto Ltd., Umberto Cadamuro, said the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity involved 22 Swiss travel agents.“We want them not only to enjoy the natural beauty of Bali, but also give real contribution to the destination.To that end, we suggested to perform social activities with the visit to SDN 1 Jegu, Jatiluwih, Tabanan, to provide the assistance,” said Umberto Cadamuro amid the event. According to him, as a form of

concern for the destinations they visited, the foreign traveler group organized by Pacto Ltd. handed over a set of school supplies to 83 students from grade 1 to grade 6 at the school. “They (the students—Ed) received the assistance in the form of school bags with notebooks and other stationery supplies such as pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, pen and ruler. We do hope the assistance provided could help the students in learning and the families in saving costs.”he said. He explained the travelers participating in the event belonged to the VVIP group of the Pacto Ltd., namely Flex Travel Switzerland, one of the largest agencies cooperating with Pacto. Previously, the construction of Waterboom at Sidembunut, Bangli, owned by a senior official in the Bangli House was known to have no permit. In fact, the motor cross track at the location was also known to have no entertainment permit from police authority. Operations Division Head of Bangli Police, Wimboko, said on Thursday (Sep 26) the motor cross track that would accommodate a lot of people should have an entertainment permit from police because there was possibility if the motor cross track could also be used as a gambling arena. The police authority having the rights to issue the entertainment permit was the intelligence unit. “If it really has not owned any permit, the motor cross track may not operate,” said Wimboko, accompanied by Chief of Intelligence Unit, Budiasa. He added the making of motor cross track should also pay attention to some standardization so that it could be declared really worth operating. One of which was the need to meet the health and safety standards. Not only that, the person in charge of the motor cross track should also be clear. Chief of Intelligence Unit, Budiasa, admitted that so far his party had never received any permit application related to the presence of the motor cross track at the Waterboom at Sidembunut. “Having been checked, in fact there is no permit application. Thus, we make sure if the motor cross track is illegal,” he said. According to him, the management of the arena should meet the permit in advance including the permit from the Bangli government. Previously, in a release sent by the project owner to reporters was stated if the local community was very enthusiastic about the development project. As evidence, many local residents came to location of the motor cross track every day to channel their hobby for free. The motor cross track, as admitted by the project owner, was intentionally provided for young children in Bangli that had hobby in the motor cross sport. Nevertheless, when traced, so far the track arena had not owned a permit. (ina)

Balinese Temple Ceremony Every Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc. The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Thousands in Nebraska for vintage Chevy auction Associated Press Writer

PIERCE, Nebraska — A handful of barely driven vintage Chevrolets fetched more than half a million dollars on Saturday at an auction that drew thousands of car buffs from around the world to a small northeast Nebraska town. Bidders and gawkers crowded shoulder-to-shoulder for the auction in a muddy field just west of Pierce, a town of about 1,800. Spectators in helicopters and airplanes circled overhead as the lead auctioneer, Yvette VanDerBrink, inched down the auction line on a wooden platform hauled by a pickup. Event organizers said an estimated 10,000 people traveled from as far as Norway and Brazil to see the sale in person, and more than 3,800 had registered online to bid at an auction website by mid-day Saturday. The auction of more than 500 old cars and pickups was expected to continue on Sunday. Organizers said they hadn’t yet totaled the bids for the roughly 50 most high-profile, low-mileage classic cars and trucks, which were auctioned on Saturday. As of midday, six of the most valuable models had sold for a combined $545,000. The collection belonged to Ray Lambrecht and his wife, Mildred, who ran a Chevrolet dealership in downtown Pierce for five decades before retiring in 1996. Unlike most dealers, Ray Lambrecht stashed many of his unsold cars in a warehouse, at his farm and other spots around town if they didn’t sell in the first year. The first vehicle sold — a sky-blue, 1958 Chevy Cameo pickup driven 1.3 miles (2.1 kilometers) — secured the largest bid at $140,000. Another bidder spent $97,500 on a red and white 1963 Impala with 11.4 miles (18.4 kilometers) on its odometer, the manufacturer’s plastic on the seat and a yellow typewritten window sticker displaying its original price: $3,254.70.

ATLANTA — The Georgia Aquarium is giving visitors the chance to peer inside the bodies of giant sea creatures. The exhibit, “Sea Monsters Revealed: Aquatic Bodies,” includes the preserved bodies of shark and other animals with their flesh stripped away to expose muscles, bones and organs

underneath. The exhibit, which opens Friday at the aquarium, is similar to the popular “Bodies” and “Body Worlds” exhibits of dissected human bodies that have toured the world. The “Sea Monsters Revealed” show includes 18 big sea creatures — a 6-foot(1.8-meter)-wide devil ray, a 15-foot(4.5-meter)-long mako shark and an 18-foot(5.5-meter)-long,

3,000-pound (1,361-kilogram) whale shark — along with more than 150 individual organs and smaller animals. As visitors walk along one side of the giant whale shark, the characteristic gray skin with white dots can be seen. Walking up the other side, that skin has been taken away to show the muscle structure underneath. A cavity opened underneath the shark shows comb-like structures along its gills that allows the shark to filter the water for food. Another remarkable part of the exhibit is a silky shark with the skin peeled away on one side to reveal several embryos inside her abdomen. “These are creatures that historically, in the early days when they were first discovered, were considered monsters because early sailors who saw these animals really didn’t know what they were,” said aquarium spokesman Cary Rountree. “Over time, it’s been revealed that they’re actually some of the most marvelous animals in our ocean.” Visitors to the Georgia Aquarium can see live examples of whale sharks and devil rays, and then see how their bodies work in the new exhibit, Rountree said.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Haiti has formed a special police force to protect the legions of tourists the government hopes to bring to the troubled Caribbean nation. Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin said at a Friday ceremony that 53 agents will patrol the country’s tourist resorts. Each has received 340 hours of classroom time to brush up on Haitian

history and geography. They have also studied Spanish and English to better help tourists. The agents will carry 9 mm handguns and will report both to the tourism and justice ministries. The two-year-old government of President Michel Martelly has sought to make tourism a priority. His government has doubled its tourism budget and is hoping that $27 million from Venezuela will help revive the once-thriving industry.

Collapsed revetment in the area of Subak Museum, Tabanan, injuring three students of the SDK Immaculata elementary school left a problem. Kediri Police immediately investigated the case to make sure. It was focused on the element of negligence that triggered the incident. The investigators planned to summon the museum attendants, including the ranks of the Bali Culture and Tourism Agency. The investigation plan to the deadly museum was disclosed by Chief of the Kediri Police, Erwin Pratomo, Saturday (Sep 28). This officer from Madiun, East Java, confirmed that his party would make coordination with Tabanan Police to handle the case. “We will coordinate with Tabanan Police to investigate the possibility of negligence. It occurred when dozens of students were joining a field study related to subak museum. When visiting the irrigation system, the revetment at the location suddenly collapsed and buried the students. Three students were injured and averagely bleeding in the leg. After the incident, the Regent of Tabanan, Ni Putu Eka Wiryastuti, temporarily closed the museum activity to avoid subsequent casualties. (kmb30)

of them was located at the location that should pass through a valley by going down and up on steep cliff. The BPBD team and other units were tired on Friday and decided to go down to Batudawa and arrived at 10:00 a.m. They climbed the mountain at night around 10:00 p.m. from Batudawa Kaja, Tulamben village. Previously, the team said prayers in the Bingin Temple at Batudawa Kaja for invoking safety. On the day before, the team was almost lost and could not find the way home as climbing at night to extinguish the fire. The team went down from Mount Agung

after putting out the flames blazing with a height up to 2.5 meters. Chief of the BPBD Karangasem, Ketut Sutirtayasa, was tired after joining the climb to the mountain. “The Chief of BPBD arrived underneath and directly led to the office of the BPBD and looked very tired,” said Prama Budarta. The forest fire was estimated to occur on the eastern slope of Mount Agung which was actually slightly bare and only overgrown by grassy weeds, shrubs and few trees. Since the past three weeks, the 3-kg LPG tube has been difficult to find at some retailers. If they are available, the price is more expensive than the regular price. It is also triggered by the absence of Fixed Retail Price (HET) at the level of sub-agencies or retailers. Some residents in Jembrana subdistrict met on Friday (Sep 27) complained about the difficulty of find the gas for their stove. However, if it was available, the price increased at IDR 2,000 per tube. This condition had occurred since the past three weeks. Moreover, ahead of Galungan and Kuningan festivity the 3-kg gas was in high demand. One of the LPG agencies located at the Sudirman petrol station no longer had stock. Of the 1,200 tubes, they were entirely in empty condition. Manager of the Petrol Station, Gusti Putu Sudiasa admitted the stock had run out due to a change from the agency. Originally, the distribution was made every day and then it was changed into once in two days. Similarly, the amount was not the same as the previous distribution. “Usually, we are supplied 560 tubes every day, but it was then reduced to 360 tubes,” said Sudiasa. However, according to him, the agencies sold it to retailers at the previous price. At the retail level, there was price increase. Probably, it happened due to the difficulty of getting the tube stock. So far, there were many consumers purchased directly to the agency and took up to more than 40 tubes. But due to lacking of supply lately, this agency could only serve the purchase of maximally 10 tubes. According to him, such condition had occurred since the past three weeks. Different condition was experienced by I Nyoman Suheriawan at Lelateng, Negara. The man becoming a sub-agency of LPG since the conversion of kerosene to gas admitted to have no problem with the stock. Under the contract with the agency, his LPG sub-agency was supplied with a total of 560 tubes or a truck except for holidays. “Whether we can sell it out or not, we are still given at such amount. But, we obviously have regular customers. Besides, we must also deliver it to customers,” he explained. According to him, the price was adjusted, and considered the location of every customer. Indeed, ahead of the Galungan and Kuningan festivity, the demand increased. His party could not set the price at the retail level because so far there was no a fixed retail price. He hoped the governor could issue a decree to establish the fixed price so that it would be clear. Additionally, there was a rule obliging the agency to seal the tube outlet with plastic. British housing market facing new bubble fears

LONDON - Britain’s house market is showing strong signs of recovery largely on the back of surging prices in and around London, fuelling fears of a new property bubble, according to analysts. The average cost of a home in the capital surged by 10 percent between July and September compared with the third quarter of 2012, British bank and major mortgage provider Nationwide said on Friday. It added that the average London home, including flats as well as houses, now costs £331,338 ($532,730, 394,551 euros) -- 8.0 percent higher than in 2007 or during the run-up to the global financial crisis that eventually led to prices crashing. Across Britain, the average price of a home stands at £170,918 after gaining 4.3 percent in the third quarter on an annual basis, Nationwide said. “The acceleration in house prices... reported by the Nationwide will fuel concern that we could be on our way to a new housing bubble,” said Howard Archer, chief UK economist at IHS Global Insight research group. “Housing market activity is now really stepping up a gear, supported by markedly strengthening consumer confidence and elevated employment, and fuelled by” government initiatives, Archer said. “On top of this, the Bank of England has indicated that interest rates are unlikely to rise before mid-2016, which seems likely to give many people greater confidence in their ability to purchase a house,” he added. The government launched a new programme called “Help to Buy” earlier this year, offering interest-free loans for a set time period to help buyers with only a 5.0-percent deposit to purchase newly built properties. The scheme will be extended in January to offer mortgage guarantees for new and existing homes worth up to £600,000. People will not be allowed to benefit from the scheme if they intend to own more than one property. The current state of the housing market has meanwhile led to splits in the governing Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition.

SHANGHAI - China Sunday launched a major free trade zone seen as a testing ground for long-awaited market reforms in the world’s second largest economy. Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng attended the opening ceremony for the zone, which covers 29 square kilometres (11 square miles) in the country’s commercial hub Shanghai. Reforms in the zone will be closelywatched as a test of China’s ability to make structural changes as it tries to realign its economic model in the face of slowing growth. “The establishment of the Shanghai free trade zone is a significant move for China to conform to new trends in the global economy and trade, and implement a more active opening-up strategy,” Gao said in a statement. The government will allow free yuan convertibility under the capital account on a trial basis, according to a statement released by the State Council (cabinet) on Friday. Market-set interest rates, seen by analysts as a key reform for China’s economy, will also be trialled, according to the statement.

Restrictions on foreign investment will be eased inside the area, which will also loosen controls on 18 service sectors ranging from finance and shipping to cultural services. Several financial firms including US-based Citibank, and China’s “big four” state-owned banks, will open branches in the zone, according to the Oriental Morning Post. International firms including Microsoft and Porsche are involved in investment projects there, the newspaper said. Excitement at the launch has boosted stocks of Shanghai-based firms and spurred a rally in home prices and land costs in areas bordering the zone in the past few weeks, state media has reported. But analysts interviewed by AFP adopted a cautious approach. “It shows that the new government is keen on making reforms,” said Stefan Sack, vice president of the European Chamber of Com-

merce in China. “We have to see what kind of regulations will really be implemented there.” But he added that “a free trade zone in Shanghai alone will not change how business is done in China”. Unlike with previous special economic zones launched by China’s government, the emphasis in the Shanghai free trade zone (FTZ) on the service sector, rather than export-oriented manufacturing, has been welcomed by economists. The government has been struggling to shift the domestic economy away from dependence on big-ticket investments and exports, and more towards consumer demand, as the key growth engine. MUMBAI, India - The search for survivors at the site of a collapsed apartment building ended Sunday in India’s financial capital of Mumbai with a final death toll of 60 people, an emergency response official said. Rescuers managed to save 33 people from the building’s wreckage in the two-day search. By Sunday morning, all 93 people listed as missing had been accounted for and the search was called off, said Alok Awasthi, local commander of the National Disaster Response Force. The five-story building that collapsed Friday was the third deadly cave-in of a Mumbai structure in six months. The cause is under investigation. High demand for housing around India’s crowded cities combined with lax inspections often result in contractors cutting corners by using substandard materials or

adding unauthorized floors. O n S a t u r d a y, e m e rg e n c y workers labored for six hours to free the last survivor, a 50-yearold man who was trapped for more than 30 hours with his leg crushed by part of a wall. Rescuers lifted up the slab of cement using a specialized compressed air-pressure bag, and the man was rushed to a hospital in the afternoon. “We were able to save him, but he may lose his leg,” Awasthi said. The building, which housed workers for Mumbai’s municipal government, was constructed in 1980, Awasthi said, adding they still did not know what caused it

to fall down. But local residents complained of substandard materials and corruption as the root causes of such disasters. Some neighbors said they even feared about the safety of their own buildings. “We can’t know that tomorrow it won’t be our turn,” said Anupama Shivalkar, who lives in a nearby apartment block. Two other buildings have fallen down in Mumbai this year. In April, at least 72 people died when an illegally constructed building fell. JAKARTA - Indonesia will maintain the value of its exports to countries grouped in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a deputy minister has said. The value of Indonesia’s exports to APEC economies last year stood at US$140 billion. “For Indonesia, APEC is an important economic region so that we will continue to maintain our export value to that region,” Trade Deputy Minister Bayu Krisnamurthi said over the weekend. The value of Indonesia’s exports to countries grouped in APEC reached US$140 billion, accounting for about 69.8 percent of total Indonesian exports. “Yet, we still suffer a deficit of US$7 billion in our trade with them. We should take this into account,” noted Bayu. Since the APEC region hosts 40 percent, or about 2.8 billion, of the world population, about 55-60 percent of the world trade volume is controlled by APEC economies. Thus, Indonesia, which is hosting the APEC leaders’ summit in Bali next week, should benefit from the regional economic cooperation and work to guarantee that its economic growth is maintained. “We should assure that it will help us maintain our economic growth. We should continue to play an active role so that policies to be taken during the APEC talks will live up to our interests,” Bayu Krisnamurthi said. The trade deputy minister said, however, that APEC still had a challenge to overcome, particularly the income gap among its members. “The economies of APEC members all experience growth. JAKARTA - The death toll from the sinking of an Australiabound asylum seeker boat off Indonesia’s main Java island rose to 28 Sunday, with many more still feared missing, police said. “We found seven more bodies after sweeping the coast this morning, six adults and a boy,” Warsono, police chief in the Agrabinta area of Java, where the boat went down, told AFP. He said the death toll from the accident was now 28. But officials fear that many more are still missing after the boat carrying would-be refugees from Lebanon, Jordan and Yemen broke into pieces and sank in rough seas south of Java on Friday. people who had been on the boat as survivors had given officials different accounts. He said he believed there had been around 80 on the boat when it went down, meaning some 25 were still missing. However, other officials have said they believe the boat was carrying around 120 asylum seekers. Survivors said they were trying to get to Australia’s Christmas Island, closer to Java than mainland Australia. They are the latest to try and cross the treacherous stretch of water that has claimed hundreds of asylum-seekers’ lives in recent years. Australia on Sunday insisted it provided “all appropriate assistance” to the boat, after survivors claimed their calls for help had gone unheeded.

BARCELONA, Spain — Atletico Madrid’s record-setting 1-0 win over Real Madrid brought an emphatic end to its crosstown rival’s 14-year unbeaten league run in their Spanish capital derby on Saturday. On-form Diego Costa struck in the 11th minute and not even Gareth Bale in his home debut for Madrid could help it rally. Atletico’s big win came after Lionel Messi scored before being substituted due to injury to help Barcelona win 2-0 at Almeria. Barcelona and Atletico set club records by staying perfect through seven rounds to start the season, opening up a five-point gap over Madrid. Messi and Diego Costa have guided their teams to their milestones and lead the league with eight goals each. “We are having a great year and we have to keep it going,” said Atletico’s Jorge “Koke” Resurreccion, who set up Diego Costa’s goal. “Diego Costa is in a spectacular moment. He has helped us a lot.” Bale, Madrid’s 100-million-euro man, went on at the start of the second half, finally playing in front of his new home fans after straining his left thigh while warming up before last weekend’s match. FRANKFURT, Germany — Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski scored twice each for Borussia Dortmund to rout 10-man Freiburg 5-0, while Bayern Munich labored past Wolfsburg 1-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Bayer Leverkusen beat Hannover 2-0 as the trio of leaders opened a significant gap seven games into the season. Dortmund leads on goal difference over Bayern. Leverkusen was a point behind them, six ahead of Hannover. In other matches, Hoffenheim rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw 3-3 with Schalke, and Hertha also came from behind to beat Mainz 3-1. Mainz lost its fourth straight. The change of coach paid off for Hamburger SV, which twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt in Bert van Marwijk’s first match in charge. Wolfsburg’s run of futility in Munich extended to 17 matches — the visitors have never won at Bayern and earned only one draw.
