NEW YORK - Robert Downey Jr, the star of Disney’s Marvel superhero film franchises “Iron Man,” and “The Avengers,” is Hollywood’s highest paid actor for the second consecutive year, with estimated earnings of $75 million, according to Forbes.com. The 49-year-old star made most of his money from June 2013 to June 2014 from “Iron Man 3,” which made $1.2 billion at the box office and assured him the top spot again in the annual ranking. “As Iron Man, he’s the driving force behind four of Marvel’s biggest hits, including ‘The Avengers,’” Forbes.com said. Former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 42, who starred in “G.I. LAS VEGAS — Country superstar Shania Twain says she’ll end her residency in Las Vegas with a final show Dec. 13, two years after she began performing at Caesars Palace. Twain announced 16 “Shania: Still the One” shows in October and December, in addition to summer performances running through July 26 at the Colosseum. The singer known for hits including “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much” arrived in Las Vegas on horseback in November 2012. Traffic down the Las Vegas Strip was temporarily halted for the herd of horses that accompanied her on her grand entrance. Her stage show features trained horses, a live band and a flying motorcycle. Organizers said at the time that Twain’s residency would be a two-year engagement.

JAKARTA — Indonesian presidential election tally shows Jakarta governor Widodo wins 53 percent of vote. Meanwhile former Indonesian general Prabowo Subianto said Tuesday he rejected the presidential election process as unfair and that he was withdrawing from the contest as nearly complete results showed his opponent leading with 52 percent of the vote. The announcement came as the Election Commission was finalizing the tally of the July 9 election and preparing to declare a winner later Tuesday. Thousands of policemen were deployed around the commission’s building in downtown Jakarta to maintain security after a particularly nasty presidential campaign. Jakarta governor Joko Widodo, nicknamed “Jokowi” and known for his common man image, has maintained a slim lead of about 4 percentage points in unofficial “quick counts” by polling agencies released after the election. But Subianto, who has declared assets of $140 million and is on his third bid for the presidency, has repeatedly claimed that polling firms with links to his campaign showed

he was ahead. After meeting with leaders of his coalition parties Tuesday, he declared that there was massive fraud during the election and that it was undemocratic. “We reject the 2014 presidential election which is unlawful and therefore we withdraw from the ongoing process,” Subianto said. He ordered his witnesses to leave the commission building where the officials were counting votes from the final five provinces. The presidential campaign was Indonesia’s ugliest since the Muslim majority country of 240 million emerged from the long and brutal Suharto dictatorship 16 years ago. Supporters of both men used social media for personal

attacks, and Subianto’s supporters led a smear campaign against Widodo, spreading unfounded rumors he is not a Muslim. Widodo, a former furniture maker, is widely seen as untainted by the often-corrupt military and business elite that have run Indonesia for decades. He likes to wear casual plaid shirts, listen to heavy metal music and make impromptu visits to the slums. Some 190 million people were eligible to cast ballots to choose the next president for a five-year term. It takes about two weeks to collect and tabulate votes from nearly a halfmillion polling stations across the country’s 33 provinces. Social Unrest

When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Yahoo did not disclose how much it paid for San Francisco-based Flurry, but online reports valued the deal in the hundreds of millions of dollars for the startup founded in 2005. “Yahoo is committed to being a part of consumers’ daily life on mobile,” Flurry chief executive Simon Khalaf said in an online post. “More importantly, Yahoo knows that it can’t do this alone.” The take-over will provide Flurry resources to ramp up platforms for developers to build applications, target users, and explore ways to make money, Yahoo said in a release. TORONTO - Women looking to enhance their image but wary of spending money on expensive cosmetics can take the guesswork out of finding a new look, or improving selfies, with the latest beauty apps. Consumers can experiment with different looks in the apps that act like augmented reality mirrors. With the Beauty Mirror app, which uses filters, people can see how they would look with fewer wrinkles, bigger lips or lifted eyebrows in a real-time photograph or video.

“Our idea was to apply a subtle, realistic change to a person’s reflection so that when someone put it on Facebook no one would know it was an altered video,” said Parham Aarabi, the CEO of Toronto-based ModiFace, which created the app. The app uses facial tracking technology to apply anti-aging and beauty enhancements, such as a lip enlargement, to the person’s image in real time. “They look the same but everything is just a little better - their wrinkles are gone, their eyes are retouched,” said Aarabi. In addition to enhancing self-

portraits, Aarabi said the company plans to use the technology to help skin care and cosmetic companies to showcase their products. “Selfie apps have become all the rage. The ability to change 2-D photos before uploading them to Facebook has been really popular, but now people can take video and touch it up using the app too,” he said. Tens of ships to carry travelers at Gilimanuk Port

DENPASAR - Forty one passenger ships, including reserve ships, are being prepared to transport post-fasting Idul Fitri holiday, or Lebaran travelers, at Bali’s Gilimuk port, according to a transportation official. “We are preparing 38 ships, plus three reserve ships, to serve passengers at Gilimanuk port,” Head of Bali’s Transportation, Communication and Information Service Ketut Artika said on Monday. He noted that the three reserve ships prepared by the Bali office of the Inland Waterway company (PT ASDP) were to be used in case of an anticipated increase in the number of Lebaran travelers. The transportation service official also explained about pier preparations at the port, where he said six piers were expected to serve Lebaran travelers, locally known as ‘pemudik’. At the port, which links Ketapang port in East Java, at least five ticket windows were available to the public, two being for motorcycles and four-wheel vehicles. “We have also prepared one lane for trucks, so they can directly embark on the ships,” he added. The announcement comes a week after the Bank of Japan also lowered its outlook to 1.0 percent from an earlier 1.1 percent. Japan has seen widening trade imbalances since the Fukushima nuclear crisis in March 2011 forced it to switch off its atomic

reactors and turn to pricey fossil fuel imports to plug the energy gap. “The latest forecast was based on weak demand overseas and stronger-than-expected imports,” a Cabinet Office official said of the downward revision. The cut was also “due to weak domestic demand following the consumption tax increase in April”, the official said. However, the government said

growth would bounce back to 1.4 percent in the following fiscal year as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s policy blitz takes hold. Abe last year launched a threepronged plan to kickstart the economy, announcing huge public spending, largely on public works, while the Bank of Japan embarked on an unprecedented monetary easing plan to fight off debilitating deflation. The moves stoked growth and

drove a stock market rally, but Abe has so far made little progress on the so-called third prong -- promised economic reforms, including shaking up rigid labour markets and convincing more women to join the workforce. GENEVA - The Swiss and Chinese central banks signed a currency swap agreement in Beijing on Monday, marking an important step in the development of a market for yuan in Switzerland, the Swiss central bank BNS said. The agreement, highlighting steps towards international use of the yuan, ensures that Swiss francs will be available in China and that yuan, also known as renminbi, will be supplied to financial centres in Switzerland. The BNS statement said that the agreement was “an important step” for the renminbi business in Switzerland. The agreement permits the two central banks to buy up to a maximum of 150 billion yuan or 21 billion Swiss francs (17.3 billion euros, $23.4 billion). The deal was signed by the governor of the People’s Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan and BNS president Thomas Jordan. The BNS also obtained a quota of investment in yuan which opens the way for it to invest part of its currency reserves on the Chinese bond market. Under this arrangement, the Chinese central bank allows BNS a quota of 15 billion yuan or about 2.0 billion Swiss francs to invest on the Chinese interbank bond market. In a separate statement, the Swiss finance ministry welcomed the agreement with China, saying it showed that Switzerland was playing an increased role in the internationalisation of the Chinese currency. A free-trade agreement between China and Switzerland took effect on July 1. It is the first agreement of its type between China and a European country. China is the sixth-biggest export market for Switzerland, and the fourth supplier to it. Switzerland hopes that with this agreement it can get ahead of other European countries, acting as a bridgehead into Europe for Chinese trade and companies, and also as a centre for finance in yuan. Switzerland is not a member of the European Union but has close trading relations with it. The Swiss finance industry is also re-structuring its activities to compensate for constraints arising from new international agreements, and from US action clamping down on cash outflows into foreign banks.

Meanwhile, the intensity of rainfall since the past few weeks had started to decline replaced by hot weather. After the discharge of water in Lake Batur, local communities around the lake were required to re-adapt or make adjustment to the existing environmental conditions. In addition to the adaptation, he also expected the public to make mitigation measures so as to reduce the impact of the

lake overflow. In this case, it reduced the quarry activities that could affect the silting of the lake. “In addition to adapting, the community mitigation program also needs to be encouraged,” he said. I am an honest man and not a type of traitor,” General Budiman stated on the sidelines of a roll call of the military forces in charge of pacification of the 2014 presidential election at the Army headquarters in Central Jakarta on Tuesday. Budiman also denied various rumors regarding his replacement as the Army chief, which was carried out in the run up to the announcement of the recent July 9 presidential result by the General Elections Commission (KPU). One of the rumors was an allegation wherein he had mentioned that Yudhoyono’s government was now like a sinking ship. This alleged statement is believed to have angered the president. The UNSC’s resolution condemns the shooting down of the MH17 aircraft and called for a full, thorough, and independent international investigation to be immediately carried out. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ star was greeted by pianist Lang Lang at the Wukesong Sports Center in Beijing in front of hundreds of basketball fans. The two exchanged gifts, with Lang Lang receiving a pair of basketball shoes and James getting an album of Lang Lang’s music and a CD with the FIFA Brazil World Cup music. The two stars also played the piano together — a “piano dunk” as Lang Lang called it. “Every time I come here, the game of basketball grows more and more,” James told the crowd. “It’s been great all the way from before I came to 2008 Beijing Olympics and all the way now for me to come back in 2014. The game continues to rise and I think that’s amazing.” The five-day trip is being sponsored by Nike. James will also be visiting Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and two cities in Taiwan — Kaohsiung and Taipei.

“I am very blessed and the game of basketball has given me everything and more than I can dream of to my family, myself and my friends,” James said. “And that’s why for me, I always give everything I can to the game, when I am on the basketball floor, both on and off court, because it has given me so much things that I never dreamed about.
