Rock bands’ plane makes emergency landing in US Associated Press Writer

MOLINE, Illinois — A private jet carrying the rock bands Ratt and Dokken had to make an emergency landing in northwestern Illinois after smoke was detected in the cabin

Saturday afternoon. Chuck Brennan, a friend of the bands who chartered the flight, told The Associated Press that the plane took off from the Moline airport but pilots had to turn it around when smoke appeared in the front of the

plane at about 7,000 feet (2,100 meters). Brennan said the pilots donned oxygen masks and landed the Challenger 601 with no incident. There were no injuries reported by the pilot or the 13 passengers.

“The cabin didn’t fill with smoke,” said Brennan, the owner of shortterm lender Dollar Loan Center. Brennan, a former promoter who opened the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in his hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, said he had

chartered the plane out of Santa Ana, California, for a four-city tour. Ratt and Dokken, both big names from the 1980s hair metal scene, played in Moline on Friday night with Lita Ford and Sebastian Bach. They were heading to the Chicago suburb of Wauconda for an outdoor show Saturday with Ford, Bach and Warrant. Brennan said the two bands were taking SUVs to the Wauconda venue, which is about 170 miles (275 kilometers) from Moline, and were expected to make it to the show in time.

Robertson popped in for the nuptials of Mehgan Cook, who sported a camouflage sash on her dress, and Charlie Miller, who was completely clad in camo gear. The two hadn’t planned on marrying at the store but Cook said they were eager to meet Robertson. “I was going to cancel the wedding ‘cause I heard Willie was coming,” Cook told KDKA-TV. Instead, Cook said, her mother came up with the idea of a wedding at the store — and they got a surprise when Robertson appeared during the ceremony. “That’s a first for me, it’s good to be a part of that,” said Robertson. “They look like my kind of folks with the camouflage. that was cool.” Cook said she had been engaged to another man, but he died in a car crash four years ago. But she met Miller at the scene and eventually the two started dating. “I never thought it would happen again,” Cook said, tearing up. On the “Duck Dynasty” Season 4 premiere, which aired Wednesday, family members threw a surprise wedding for patriarch Phil Robertson, wearing a black jacket over camouflage garb, and his wife, Miss Kay. They could only afford a justice of the peace when they married 48 years ago. The show drew 11.8 million viewers on the A&E channel, making it the No. 1 nonfiction series telecast in U.S. cable television history in total viewers as well as all key demographic groups. The reality show chronicles the Robertson family in Louisiana’s bayou country who manufacture duck calls and love to go bird hunting.

DENPASAR - The struggle of all components of Balinese community to reject the Benoa Bay reclamation and to urge the Governor of Bali Made Mangku Pastika in order to revoke the decree on the reclamation permit ended in sweet result. After insisting, Governor Pastika eventually surrendered and officially revoked the Gubernatorial Decree No.2138/02-C/ HK/2012 on the Permit Conferral and Rights of Utilization, Development and Management of Benoa Bay waters dated December 26, 2012. Such assertion was made after chairing the 68th Independence Day of the RI at the Puputan Margarana Square, Denpasar, Saturday (Aug 17). “I have received the House’s recommendation (on revocation of reclamation permit—Ed). As of yesterday (Aug 16—Ed), the Gubernatorial Decree (No. 2138—Ed) has been declared void,” said

Pastika to reporters. In other words, the decree is revoked and what is the reason? When asked so, Pastika said that revocation of the decree has gone through various studies based on legal aspects conducted by the legal team of the Bali government following an open dialogue on August 3 in Wiswa Sabha, the governor’s office. “Yes (it’s revoked—Ed). It is based on various aspects (reason of revoking the decree No. 2138). And we received advice, suggestions and scientific studies conducted by the legal team of Bali Government,” said the former Chief of Bali Police. Another reason was based on a lot of

aspirations and inputs from various parties. Among others, they were the elements of society, both from academicians, NGOs, religious leaders and some others. Similarly, it was based on recommendation of the Bali House No. 900/2569/DPRD dated August 12, 2013 with the subject of review and or revocation of the Gubernatorial Decree No.2138/02-C/HK/2012. This Buleleng-origin governor added the Gubernatorial Decree No.2138/02-C/ HK/2012 was declared void by issuing the new decree. “There is a new decree declaring if the former decree is no longer applicable,” he said. When asked whether the revocation of the decree had been communicated and delivered to the investor, Pastika was reluctant to answer. Then, he hurriedly left reporters. Previously, a wave of intense rejection occurred against the Benoa Bay reclamation plan and the issuance of the gubernatorial

decree. Various aspirations emerged from the community, either from the academia, NGOs, religious leaders, tourism practitioners or others related to the Benoa Bay reclamation plan. They considered the gubernatorial decree should be revoked and the Benoa Bay reclamation plan should be canceled as having infringed various laws and regulations. Some of the rules infringed consist of, firstly, the Presidential Regulation No.45/2011 on Spatial Planning of Sarbagita asserting that in Article 55 paragraph (5) a and b is mentioned the waters of Benoa Bay and Pudut Island belong to a conservation area. Secondly, the Law No.27/2007 on the Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands that has passed through a judicial review in the Constitutional Court (MK) and it has been decided to revoke the entire chapter related to the concession of coastal waters (HP3).

10 people including tourists suffer burns Amlapura (Bali Post)—

Ocean Star boat caught fire in Lombok Strait about two miles from Padangbai Harbor, Thursday (Aug 15) around 09:30 a.m. Of the 32 passengers and three crews, 10 of whom suffered burns, including a number of foreign tourists. One of the boat crews, Komang Sujana, from Padangbai, Karangasem, told if the fire was kindled by the sparks due to short circuit in the boat accessories. After departing from Padangbai for some 15 minutes or about 2 miles from the harbor, the sparks of fire appeared from the right side of the boat that would carry tourists to Gili Trawangan, NTB. The fire immediately blazed. The boat crews attempted to put out the fire by extinguisher. Unluckily, the fire did not go out but it even grew bigger and grabbed the jerrycan or reserve fuel tank. Then, the boat smoldered. Luckily, at not too far distance came another boat namely the Ocean Star III. The boat crews of Ocean Star III were suspicious when they saw the Ocean Star billowing heavy smokes. The Ocean Star III directly approached it and provided help by evacuating passengers. A few minutes later, the other help from fishermen also came to do evacuation as well as the Karangasem Marine Police based at

Padangbai. They did a diving. Passengers and crews suffering burns were evacuated immediately to mainland and rushed to the Penta Medica Clinic, Manggis. Having got treatment for a while, the six passengers were eventually referred to Sanglah Hospital. They were four foreign tourists and two crews. Manager of Penta Medica Clinic, Putu Ardana, said last Saturday that his party received 10 victims suffering burns at the boat incident at 10:15 a.m. They were directly addressed. Two victims suffered severe burns of 45 percent, while eight others suffered burns of 1015 percent. The victims referred to Sanglah were Suzanna Ruth, 51, from the U.S. living in Mataram, Ilaria Cervelli, 28, Liugi Santone and Leonardo Callota entirely all from Italy. Meanwhile, the boat crew with quite severe burns was Komang Wibawa, 28, and Wayan Dadi, residents from Padangbai. The other victims only got minor burns but were treated in Penta Medica Clinic such as Ibrahim

Turget (Turk), Thomas Wanstall (Australia) and Marte Tatola (Italy) as well as Kadek Sujana, a crew from Padangbai. Those who suffered minor burns were allowed to go home after getting treatment in the clinic. Meanwhile, the Chief of Padangbai Harbor Police, Ketut Suartika Adnyana said last Sunday the burned Ocean Star had been pulled to the Padangbai Harbor. Captain of the unlucky boat was still questioned by the Padangbai harbormaster. Another crew of the Ocean Star, Komang Wibawa, said the blazing fire was quickly extinguished, despite raging about one minute. The witness Wibawa claimed to have heard the blast of fire. The boat had four engines with the power of respectively 250 PK. Based on observation, the illfated boat passengers apparently were still shocked. Some people claimed thankful because they could survive, even though 10 passengers and crews suffered severe to mild burns. (013)

Café is a name for a nightlife venue providing food and drink. It is also a hangout place to meet up relations and release stresses. However, the connotation of café has started to slightly deviate in the community. Many people immediately associate it with sex when others mentions about the café. Bali as a tourist destination definitely had a lot of nightlife spots, where one of which was café. The current problem was that those cafés were even available in rural areas. It was revealed by the founder of Citra Usadha Foundation and Chairperson of the Sanglah VCT, Prof. Dr. K. Tuti Merati Parwati. She explained the risky nightlife spots in Bali at this time were not even visited by tourists or migrants, but rather by local residents. It happened because the nightlife spots like cafés were not built at proper places. In terms of business aspect, those cafés should be established at location drawing many visitors, but in fact the rural cafés were established at quiet places like under bamboo trees, amidst the rice fields and other remote locations. Visitors of those entertainment facilities were not coming from far away, but residents around the cafés. “Based on the result of research, a risky sexual relationship is made at the location that leads to the transmission of HIV and STIs,” said Tuti. If such condition was left unchecked, then the transmission of HIV infection and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) would have an impact on both families of the perpetrators and those purchased the sexual service. “Similarly, young people will also have negative learning from the presence of the cafés existing in their environment as well as get infected by HIV from their parents. The overview of risky nightlife does not belong to Balinese culture and it should be avoided,” said Tuti. On that account, Tuti expected each customary village in Bali to control the presence of those risky cafés as well as the government to issue a permit for the cafés and other nightlife spots. According to Tuti, the government should control and inspect whether the permit issued to build café had complied with the rules or deviated from the rules. When known to have deviated, the government should decisively impose sanctions against the cafés and violating nightlife spots. (kmb24)

People wait for realization of sport center

Gianyar community is now waiting for the realization of the sport center discoursed by local government. Decision of the House having approved the status of Kebo Iwa Terminal to be revoked received positive appreciation from many circles in the community. After issuance of the recommendation, residents expected the conversion into the sport center can be realized, so that it is not only a discourse. Chairman of the Gianyar Golkar Representative Council (DPD), Made Dauh Wijana, said on Thursday (Aug 15) his party positively welcomed the conversion of Gianyar terminal which had not been functioning optimally into a sport center. Moreover, it was the people’s aspirations. “We positively welcome the conversion. Moreover, the House has agreed it. Now, it is just waiting for the realization,” he said. Rather than not functioning, the terminal should be converted so it could be really utilized for society. His party did not mind whether the sport center would be commercialized or not. According to him, the management would fully under the authority of Gianyar county government. His party asserted the presence of the sport center would also have an economic impact on the community. In addition to carrying out a number of sport events, the communities wishing to sell sport equipment could be accommodated in it. “Obviously, it will give a huge positive impact on the community,” he said. Earlier, the former Chairman of the National Sport Committee (KONI) of Gianyar, Ida Bagus Nyoman Rai, expected the government to be consistent with the planning and the goal to convert the Gianyar terminal into a sport center. “Utilization of the land formerly used as terminal into sport center should no longer be useless,” he hoped. Balinese Temple Ceremony Every Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc. The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

NYC museum exhibit shows virtues of living small

NEW YORK — Many New Yorkers live in small apartments, yet most of them don’t camp out in a micro-unit at a museum in order to demonstrate the virtues of living in tight spaces.

DENPASAR - As a world’s tourist destination, Bali goes through a terrible growth. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bali noted the economic growth reached 2.18 percent in the second quarter of 2013. Challie Stillman and Lina Franco arrived at the Museum of the City of New York at 6 p.m. Friday for a 24-hour stay in a studio apartment that’s part of an exhibit called “Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers.” The exhibit, which runs through Sept. 2, also features designs that were submitted to a small-apartment competition announced by Mayor Michael Bloomberg last year. Stillman and Franco normally live in a 650-square-foot (60-squaremeter) apartment in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The museum’s 325-square-foot (30-square-meter) studio is half that size but seems spacious because of the specially designed furniture and appliances. The murphy bed includes a couch that slides under when the bed is out of the wall. A chair converts to a stepladder for reaching storage spaces. The kitchen’s under-the-counter refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher leave ample work space. Stillman and Franco invited six friends for dinner Friday, but they had food delivered because

the appliances are not hooked up. “Everyone had a place to sit, had a place to eat, and it worked out perfectly,” said Stillman, who is the design director for Resource Furniture, the distributor of the furniture in the apartment. Stillman said it would be possible for two people to live in the apartment for real. “You’d have to edit your belongings, definitely,” she said. “And also, you have to be neat. Everything has to have its place, and if it’s not in its place, and it’s messy in here, you’re going to start to get agitated.” Her partner, Franco, a lawyer, couldn’t quite see living in the micro-apartment. “We would need a little more closet space,” she said. “We’re both girls and we have clothes. And shoes.” Visitors to the exhibit Saturday said they were impressed. “I would totally live in that apartment if I were on my own,” said Rebecca Hersh of Highland Park, New Jersey, who was accompanied by her mother, Pam, and her two children, ages 6 and 4. “It’s all about good design.”

car event in Carmel, California. The car, about the length of an Audi A8 or Mercedes S-Class, is built on the underpinnings of a new full-sized Cadillac sedan that is under development, said David Caldwell, a spokesman for the General Motors brand. GM CEO Dan Akerson has said a new ultra-luxury rear-drive Cadillac is coming in the next two years. The look of the Elmiraj could show up in the new sedan, and a coupe is an option as a variation of the new car, Caldwell said. The Elmiraj is 205 inches long, about five inches (12.7 centimeters) longer than the XTS, which currently is the biggest Cadillac. If the Elmiraj or the sedan go into production, they would be GM’s first entry into the large luxury performance car category since the DTS went out of production in 2010. “It explores performance driving, as well as how we’re approaching elevating the Cadillac range,” Mark Adams, the brand’s design director, said in a statement. Cadillac said the Elmiraj will

take advantage of lightweight metals to cut weight and raise fuel economy. But the car will be powered by a 4.5-liter, twin-turbo V8 that puts out around 500 horsepower. Inside, the Elmiraj has highperformance seats that are designed to support spirited driving, Cadillac said. The dash has backlit titanium trim with camel leather and wood trim from hand-picked fallen Brazilian rosewood. The car also has a large 10-inch (25.4-centimeter), high-resolution touch screen for navigation and Internet connectivity. The screen can be hidden in the instrument panel when not in use. The car was designed at GM’s studios in North Hollywood, California., and built by hand in Michigan. Designers were influenced by the 1967 Cadillac Eldorado twodoor luxury coupe, as well as the CTS-V coupe now on the market, Cadillac said. Caldwell said it’s too early to say when or if the Elmiraj would go on sale or how much it would cost. Its Audi and Mercedes competitors start from $75,000 to $90,000.

Divers, however, retrieved the bodies of a man and a woman in the ferry, which sank in waters about 33 meters (100 feet) deep. “We’re still on a rescue mission,” Davide told reporters. “We have not given up on them.” Relatives flocked to a ticketing office of ferry owner, 2GO Group Inc., and pasted pictures of their missing loved ones. The trial of Bo, 64, a “princeling” son of a late vice premier who is still popular with conservatives and the disaffected, is the country’s most divisive since the 1976 downfall of Mao Zedong’s widow, Jiang Qing, and her Gang of Four at the end of the Cultural Revolution. Bo’s wife, Gu Kailai, and his estranged police chief, Wang Lijun, have both been jailed over the scandal stemming from the November 2011 murder of British businessman Neil Heywood in the southwestern city of Chongqing, where Bo was Communist Party chief. Fishery exports up 17 percent

DENPASAR - Bali exported US$44.54 million worth of fishery commodities in the first five months of the year, up 16.95 percent from the same period last year. The fishery sector contributed 20.54 percent to Bali’s total export value of US$216.92 billion in the five months period. Fresh and frozen tuna dominated the exports of eight types of fishery commodities from Bali in value. Tuna exports, fresh and frozen, totaled 5,114 tons valued at US$28.36 million in the January-May period, according to data from Bali Central Statistic Agency (BPS). The volume and value of tuna exports rose 3.88 percent and 5.35 percent respectively over the same period last year. Other fishery commodities exported from Bali included the groupers, decorative fish, skip jacks, crabs, lobsters, shark fins, and sea weed. Japan is the main market for fishery commodities from Bali, followed by the United States and Australia. Other export destinations included Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Britain, France, Germany and Spain.

Another 13.23 percent went to several other countries. He adding that Bali’s silver handicrafts were one of 17 types of local handicrafts that have penetrated the global market. The president played five hours of golf Saturday in an unlikely foursome that included the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star, former U.S. trade representative Ron Kirk and businessman Glenn Hutchins, a part owner of the Boston Celtics. Obama spent a couple hours Saturday morning with his wife and daughters on a private beach on the island’s south shore. The first family went out for dinner Saturday night at The Boathouse Restaurant, which overlooks the harbor in historic Edgartown. The president has kept a low profile during his stay and spent most days golfing. He spoke out publicly only once, to condemn escalating violence in Egypt. He flies back to Washington on Sunday night.

NAIROBI, Kenya — Somalia is suffering an “explosive” outbreak of polio and now has more cases than the rest of the world combined, an official said Friday. Vaccine-wielding health workers face a daunting challenge: accessing areas of Somalia controlled by al-Qaida-linked militants, where 7 of 10 children aren’t fully immunized. Polio is mostly considered eliminated globally except mainly in three countries where it is considered endemic: Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. India marked a major success in February 2012 by being removed from the World Health Organization’s list of countries plagued by the disease. Somalia now has 105 cases, figures released Friday show, and another 10 cases have been confirmed across the border in a Kenyan refugee camp filled with Somalis. Globally there have been 181 cases of polio this year, including those in Somalia and Kenya. Vaccination campaigns in Somalia have reached 4 million people since the outbreak began in May, but those health officials have limited access to about 600,000 children who live

in areas of Somalia controlled by the armed Islamist group alShabab. “It’s very worrying because it’s an explosive outbreak and of course polio is a disease that is slated for eradication,” said Oliver Rosenbauer, a spokesman for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative at the World Health Organization in Geneva. “In fact we’re seeing more cases in this area this year than in the three endemic countries worldwide.” In a bit of good news, Rosenbauer said in a phone interview with The Associated Press that polio numbers are down in the three remaining endemic countries. “The only way to get rid of this risk is to eradicate in the endemic countries, and there the news is actually paradoxically very good,” he said.

Somalia was removed from the list of endemic polio countries in 2001, and this year’s outbreak is the second since then. It began one month after Bill Gates helped unveil a six-year plan to eradicate polio at the Global Vaccine Summit. That effort will cost $5.5 billion, threequarters of which has already been pledged, including $1.8 billion from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The outbreak in Somalia does not set back the six-year plan, said Rosenbauer, because unpredictable and intermittent outbreaks were programmed into the timeline. In al-Shabab controlled southcentral Somalia, disease surveillance is functioning, but health officials are likely not able to detect all polio cases.

HAILEY, Idaho — Fire crews on Saturday faced another challenging day battling a rapidly growing wildfire burning closer to two posh central Idaho resort communities, while other blazes in the West charred homes and devoured dry grass and brush. In northern Utah, about 10 homes were destroyed when a wildfire raced through the community of Willow Springs late Friday, jumping a state highway and fire lines, authorities said. As of midday Saturday, the Patch Springs Fire had burned more than 50 square miles. It was 20 percent contained. In Idaho, the Beaver Creek Fire grew by 15 square miles late Friday and early Saturday, to 144 square miles. Overnight, flames moved closer to homes and subdivisions in the mountains west and north of the communities of Hailey and Ketchum and the Sun Valley Resort. So far, authorities have issued mandatory evacuations for 1,600 residences in the valley, which serves as a vacation getaway for celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks. The blaze was started by lightning Aug. 7. It expanded significantly Friday, burning through tinder-dry brush and timber in the mountains west of the towns. JAKARTA - Indonesia’s president unveiled an ambitious 2014 draft budget Friday aimed at boosting a slowing economy before elections next year as his scandal-plagued party struggles to claw back popularity. Once a darling with investors, Southeast Asia’s top economy has this year been faced with slowing growth, high inflation and a plunge in the value of the rupiah. With the economy set to be a key battleground at presidential and legislative polls in 2014, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is desperate to restore the nation’s financial health. Announcing the $173-billion budget to parliament, Yudhoyono insisted the package would ensure that “Indonesia will be in a better position to overcome the challenges that may emerge”. The main themes of the budget were boosting consumer spending, a main driver of Indonesia’s economic boom, overhauling the nation’s ageing infrastructure to encourage investment, and narrowing current account and budget deficits. He said the government would implement a “keep buying strategy” to make sure consumer spending remained strong, something economists

believe is key to maintaining economic growth as global demand for Indonesian commodities weakens. “We acknowledge our infrastructure is far from perfect,” he conceded, vowing that major road, port and airport projects would be completed. Investors often complain that doing business in the sprawling archipelago of more than 17,000 islands is complicated by potholed roads, a creaking train network, leaky old boats and poor aviation infrastructure. He also said the country would look at new markets to try to put the brake on a widening trade deficit, blamed on falling Chinese demand for Indonesian exports such as coal and palm oil. Yudhoyono insisted he had already helped to lift some of the strain off the budget by hiking the price of fuel by up to 44 percent in June, reducing huge subsidies that were blamed for making the budget deficit balloon. MOSCOW - Forget the race. With Usain Bolt, the real fun happens after he crosses the finish line. Now that’s entertainment. Certainly more than his 200-meter win, when the Jamaican was so far ahead of the field that he loafed to the line with teammate Warren Weir far behind him.

And then the party was on at the world championships - Bolt style. Plenty of preening, lots of dancing and loads of over-the-top showboating. He did his trademark bow-and-arrow pose and kissed his muscles. He picked up a camera and snapped photos of Weir, who was trailing behind him just like in Saturday’s race. “Happy to really get it done,” Bolt said. “I pushed myself all season to be the best.” As if there was ever any doubt. Bolt almost worked up more of a sweat dancing than he did dashing down the track in 19.66 seconds (and that was with shutting it down with about 60 meters to go). He hopped and skipped to the reggae sounds of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” much to the thrill of the crowd. Guess that tender foot is quite all right, the one Bolt hurt when he dropped the starting blocks on it during a training session. Even on a bum wheel, Bolt’s still, well, Bolt. This easy win, coupled with his leisurely stroll last weekend in the 100, gives him

seven career gold medals at the worlds. He needs just one more to tie Carl Lewis and Michael Johnson for most-ever among men. And Bolt will go for another in the 4x100 relay on Sunday as the competition comes to a close. “That guy is unbelievable,” said American Curtis Mitchell, who finished with the bronze medal. “I trained with him in London prior to the championships. He’s a great guy. He’s laughing and having fun. He’s a normal guy - with superb talent.” In this race, Bolt provided all the electricity. There was no lightning before the race, no rain drops to add to the drama. He created the drama - or took the drama out - by pulling away after rounding the curve. Although Bolt promised to run allout all the way to the finish - and possibly make a run at his world record of 19.19 - he backed off the accelerator because of tired legs and an aching foot. That’s good enough these days, especially with no Tyson Gay (doping offense) or Yohan Blake (hamstring injury) to push him.
