The opening of BAF XXXV parade flushed by rain Bali Post DENPASAR - Opening of the Bali Arts Festival (BAF) XXXV was commenced by the art parade participated by several regions across Bali and Indonesia in front of the Bajra Sandi Monument, Renon, Saturday (Jun 15).

It took place festively though having been flushed by rain. The parade featuring approximately 15 colossal performances from numerous regions was officially opened by the President of the RI, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, marked with the beating of Gong Beri. Staging of the art parade was started by Adhi Merdangga marching band attrac-

tion and Shiva Nataraja dance performed by the students of the SMKN 5 Denpasar vocational school. It was a dance depicting the divine rays of Lord Shiva. Then, it was resumed with the presentation of cultural performance of Papua Province featuring special dance accompanied with red and white flag signifying the vivacity to struggle for togetherness in developing the nation.

Afterward, the parade was continued with the art presentation by some counties such as Karangasem, Jembrana, Buleleng, Gianyar, Denpasar, Sumenep, Bangli, Klungkung, West Lampung, Badung, Tabanan as well as Timor Leste.
