ORLANDO, Florida — The centerpiece of the new Harry Potterthemed area at Universal Orlando Resort will take visitors into Gringotts bank to help retrieve a magical object and re-create a scene from the wildly popular book and movie series. Universal executives announced Tuesday that the ride will be called “Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.” It re-creates a scene from the final Harry Potter book and film. “It takes you into one of the great moments of the fiction,” said Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative. The ride and the themed area — called the Wizarding World of Harry PotterDiagon Alley — will open in the summer. It will double the size of the Harry Potter landscape in the park. Among the features of the new ride: a 60-foot (18-meter) dragon atop Gringotts

country’s Health Ministry. One of the patients was diagnosed and died in the last 24 hours, while the remaining cases were previously detected as critical cases, according to the Health Ministry’s portal. Of the six newly identified cases, one is receiving treatment at the ICU, three are in stable condition and two are showing no symptoms. Three of the new cases are from Riyadh, two from Jeddah, and one from Mecca. In addition, another six cases,
two men and four women, have fully recovered and have been discharged from the hospital. The coronavirus was first discovered in mid-2012 in an old man with acute pneumonia and renal failure. It has spread from the Gulf countries to North Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe, killing more than a hundred people and infecting hundreds of others. Saudi Arabia has recorded the highest number of MERS cases in the world, registering new cases and deaths almost on a daily basis.

Even, the price of pork in Tabanan was said to be much cheaper than in some other counties. “Unluckily, many Balinese people are reluctant to raise pigs today because of high feed costs. Secondly, many breeders failed due to weather factor and viruses,” he explained. Although the demand of fork was predicted to increase ahead of Galungan, a number of traders in traditional markets had not in-
creased their supply until Monday. Suwarya, for instance, a trader from Darmasaba (Badung) who sold pork in Kediri market (Tabanan) every day, admitted he only prepared 10 kilograms of meat per day. But such amount, he added, could not be sold out. “Maximally, I just can sell 7 kilogram,” he said. Ahead of Galungan, he predicted the price of pork could be sold at the range of IDR 42,00050,000 kilogram. This increase, he continued, was also influenced by the price of pork that went up as well. Balinese Temple Ceremony Every Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc. The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Nintendo is apologizing and pledging to be more inclusive after being criticized for not recognizing same-sex relationships in English editions of a life-simulator video game. The publisher said that while it was too late to change the current game, it was committed to building virtual equality into future versions if they’re produced.

Gamers can do things like shop, play games, go on dates, get married and encounter celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Shaquille O’Neal. Already a hit in Japan, “Tomodachi Life” is set for release June 6 in North America and Europe. Tye Marini, a 23-year-old gay Nintendo fan from Mesa, Arizona, launched a social media campaign last month seeking virtual equality for the game’s characters. “I want to be able to marry my reallife fiancé’s Mii, but I can’t do that,” Marini said in a video posted online that attracted the attention of gaming sites and online forums this past week. “My only options are to marry some female Mii, to change the gender of
either my Mii or my fiancé’s Mii or to completely avoid marriage altogether and miss out on the exclusive content that comes with it.” Marini said Saturday that he was “very happy” with Nintendo’s response. “I don’t believe they are a homophobic company at all,” Marini said. “I think that the exclusion of same-sex relationships was just an unfortunate oversight.” Yet the issue does mark a cultural divide between Japan, where gay marriage is not legal, and North America and Europe, where gay marriage has become legal in some places. It also highlights the problems with “localization,” the process when games are changed to suit different locales and customs. The uproar prompted Kyoto, Japanbased Nintendo Co. and its subsidiary Nintendo of America Inc. to pledge to create a more inclusive “Tomodachi” installment in the future. “We are committed to advancing our longtime company values of fun and entertainment for everyone,” Nintendo said on Friday. “We pledge that if we create a next installment in the ‘Tomodachi’ series, we will strive to design a game-play experience from the ground up that is more inclusive, and better represents all players.” While many English-language games don’t feature gay characters, several role-playing series produced by English-speaking developers, such

NEW YORK — U.S. small business owners are keeping a cautious approach to running their companies even as they grow more optimistic. Two surveys released Tuesday, one by Wells Fargo & Co. and the other by Bank of America Corp., found many owners still have conservative hiring plans and little appetite for loans. Stronger revenue and cash flow are behind the increasing optimism. In the Bank of America spring survey, 68 percent of owners said they expect revenue to increase in the next 12 months. They feel confident about their local economies but have their eye on national and international issues that could affect their businesses. About three-quarters cited health care costs and the federal government’s effectiveness, or lack thereof, as potential problems. Seventy percent are concerned about higher commodities prices. Wells Fargo’s second-quarter Small Business Index rose to 47 from the first quarter’s 45, its highest level since
the second quarter of 2008, before the financial meltdown. That was still far below the high of 114 hit in December 2006, but much better than the minus 28 posted in the third quarter of 2010. The Wells Fargo survey found owners are gradually getting more optimistic about the prospects for their companies’ financial situation a year from now. Sixty-seven percent forecast their businesses would be in good shape, up from 66 percent in the first quarter. Fifty-nine percent expect their cash flow to be good over the next year, up from 57 percent. The Wells Fargo survey and Bank of America’s are in line with other recent reports that show owners’ confidence slowly improving. Both surveys found owners willing to hire. In the Wells Fargo survey, 21 percent plan to hire in the next 12
months, little changed from 22 percent in the first quarter. A larger number of owners in the Bank of America survey, 52 percent, said they were willing to hire, a jump of 21 percentage points from a year earlier. Despite that gain, Robb Hilson, head of small business banking at Bank of America, still notes owners’ caution. “They’re probably not going to hire in explosive numbers like they did 10 years ago,” he said. Loans are easier for small businesses to get, adding to owners’ confidence, although many don’t want to borrow. Only 14 percent of owners surveyed by Bank of America said they plan to apply for loans this year, down from 19 percent a year ago. Owners just don’t need loans right now: More than half said their businesses are well-funded, and 42 percent said they don’t want to take on any more debt. The Bank of America survey questioned 1,000 small business owners during March. The Wells Fargo survey questioned 600 owners from March 31 to April 4.
LONDON - Home ownership is pursued almost as a right in Britain but the housing market has a history of boom and bust -- and fears are growing of a new bubble. The Bank of England, three former finance ministers and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have all raised concerns that rising prices could threaten Britain’s economic recovery. House prices across the country rose at 10.9 percent in the year to April, the fastest rate for four years. In London, the increase was 18 percent, according to Nationwide, Britain’s leading mortgage provider. The cost of a house in the capital is now 20 percent higher than it was at their previous peak before the financial crisis in 2008 sent values tumbling, although the rest of the country has yet to regain pre-recession levels. Buying their own place is a dream of many Britons, encouraged by successive governments, notably that of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher, which allowed tenants of social housing to buy their homes. But the dream is becoming harder and harder to realise. In the early 1980s, the average first-time buyer was 27 or 28 years old and paid an average of £17,000 (the equivalent of £49,000 or 60,000 euros/$83,000 in today’s prices) for their home. Today, they are 30 and pay an average of just under £147,000, according to a study by HSBC. In London, the average property now costs £480,000 (590,000 euros) according to online portal Rightmove, 14 times the median salary and a sum beyond the reach of key workers such as nurses and many teachers. Some of the growth has been fuelled by foreign investors looking for a safe haven for their money. In a new record for property in London, a buyer from Eastern Europe reportedly bought a penthouse in an exclusive development overlooking Hyde Park recently for a staggering £140 million. Finance Minister George Osborne sought to calm the rampant overseas interest that risks transforming parts of the city into ghost streets, by announcing in March a new tax on high-end properties owned by non-residents. “We know we should be nervous about what’s going on in the housing market,” the Bank of England’s outgoing chief economist Spencer Dale told parliament earlier this month. Jon Cunliffe, deputy governor for financial stability, has also said that spiralling property prices are the “brightest (hazard) light” on the Bank’s dashboard. BOSTON — Three college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are asking a federal judge to have their cases tried outside of Massachusetts. Attorneys recently filed change of venue motions for Dias Kadyrbayev, Azamat Tazhayakov and Robel Phillipos, who used to attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with Tsarnaev. The three are set to appear in court this week starting on Tuesday, where they are expected to testify. Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov are Kazakhstan nationals who are charged with tampering with evidence for removing Tsarnaev’s laptop and a backpack containing fireworks from his college dorm room shortly after last year’s fatal bombing. Kadyrbayev also faces conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges. He and Tazhayakov have been held without bail for more than a year. Phillipos, of Cambridge, is accused of lying to investigators and wants his case to be tried separately. He has been held under house arrest. They have all pleaded not guilty. Their trial is scheduled to begin on June 30. Their lawyers say because of overwhelming media coverage of the case their clients won’t receive fair trials in Massachusetts. But prosecutors are opposed to any change of venue. Tsarnaev, 20, has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges in the April 15, 2013, bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260. He and his older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, allegedly placed two pressure cooker bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line. Three days later Tamerlan was killed in a gun battle with police, the same night Massachusetts Institute of Technology security officer Sean Collier was also shot and killed. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is facing state charges in Collier’s death. Federal prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the trial that is set to begin in November.

The communications ministry announced that the US-based site would be blocked following the discovery of Vimeo pages with names such as “Art of Nakedness” and “Nudie Cutie”, featuring naked and scantily-clad women. “We have recently received reports from the public about websites carrying negative and pornographic content... One of them is the site Vimeo.com,” said the ministry in a statement published late Monday. The ministry, headed by Communications Minister Tifatul Sembiring who has waged a campaign against illicit material on the Internet, said that Vimeo had been added to a list of 119 other sites banned over content deemed pornographic. Vimeo said on its Twitter account that the site was “blocked for some Indonesian users, but it’s on the Indonesian side and we can’t unblock it”. Other web users still appeared to have access on Tuesday morning but a ministry spokesman said all Internet service providers would have to fall into line with the government order. Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim-majority coun-
try, introduced a tough anti-pornography law in 2008 that criminalises any work that could be deemed obscene. Indonesian social media users reacted furiously to the news that the site, which hosts a huge variety of videos uploaded by its members, was being blocked. “It’s insane... The world will laugh at Indonesia for considering Vimeo a pornographic site,” said a post on Twitter from Savic Ali. Another Twitter user, Adi Dzikrullah Bahri, said: “It’s a pity... Many people uploaded educational and creative videos on Vimeo.” Guidelines on the Vimeo site say that it “does not allow videos that contain explicit depictions of nudity or sexual acts (in most cases)”. However the website added that it does allow “depictions of nudity and sexuality that serve a clear creative, artistic, aesthetic, or narrative purpose”. In 2011 the maker of BlackBerry smartphones blocked access to pornographic websites in Indonesia after the government threatened to withdraw its operating permit. The ban remains in place.

TANGERANG - The Soekarno Hatta airport customs has foiled four attempts to smuggle methamphetamine worth RP4.9 billion in the street to the country. Head of the airport customs office Okto Irianto said here on Tuesday the first attempt was to smuggle 922 grams of the illicit drug worth Rp1.2 billion. In the case the customs authorities nabbed suspects -- BD (47 years), a South African and FA (53 years) an Indonesian. The second attempts was to smuggle 1,224 grams worth RP1.6 billion of the drug involving three suspects -- an Ugandan TM (46) and S (35) and AL (32) both Indonesians. The Ugandan, who was an English teacher in his country, swallowed the drug . The third attempt was to smuggle 842 grams of
the drug worth RP1.1 billion in the street involving a suspect CT (56) from Taiwan. CT tried to hide the drug in his under pant. The fourth case involved another suspect from Taiwan LC (34) trying to smuggle 724 grams of the drug worth Rp977 million. He tried to hide the drug in his under pant. “Altogether the customs authorities confiscated 3,712 grams of methamphetamine worth more than RP4.9 billion,” Okto Irianto said. Deputy chief of anti narcotics police of the Soekarno Hatta airport police resort Adj. Comr Subekti said the suspects were charged with violating criminal law and facing a maximum jail term of 15 years with a fine of Rp10 billion. “The suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the police criminal detectives for further investigations,” Subekti said.

sentatives’ Commission IX. Current news circulating in the local media about MERS is considered insufficient to disseminate information related to the deadly virus threat to the public in general. “I have not yet seen any notification notes about MERS being circulated by the governmental institutions to the Hajj and Umra travel agents,” Okky pointed out. Both the Health Ministry and Religious Affairs Ministry should have distributed pamphlets regarding the prevention of the deadly MERS vi-
rus outbreak before any citizen goes for a pilgrimage journey. “The government’s plea to postpone the pilgrimage for people above 50 years of age is not effective. If the government can directly sent notification notes to the travel agents then it will significantly help in raising MERS awareness,” Okky added. The Hajj and Umra travel agents should have been asked to provide face masks or gloves for the Umra pilgrims as a preventative measure, Okky remarked.

The 2009 F1 world champion endured his third straight race with no points at the Spanish Grand Prix as his current car’s lack of downforce was fully exposed. With his contract at McLaren coming to an end later this season, 2014 has always been viewed as a key campaign for Button, who is now the oldest driver on the grid at 34 and is in his 15th season in the world championship. But rather than feel demotivated by his current difficulties, Button says it is making him even more determined to sort out a fresh deal. “I definitely want to be in F1,” said Button, when asked if retirement was being considered in light of his current situation. “This sort of season does not make you want to retire. “If you do retire, you want to retire on a high and if you have the possibility to do that, then you continue racing to get that high. “The problem then is when you do that, you don’t want to stop racing either, so you could be racing for many years. “But no, I don’t feel I want to retire at the end of this year. I am happy about my future, and think it is quite exciting.” With McLaren switching to Honda engines next season, Button has been widely considered as favourite to stay on board for 2015. SAO PAULO - Barcelona forward Neymar has almost recovered from a foot injury and hopes to play in Saturday’s Spanish league decider against Atletico Madrid, the Brazilian said in an internet chat with fans on Monday. The 22-year-old will have a late fitness test before the game, one that Barcelona have to win to take the La Liga title for the fifth time in six seasons. Neymar also said he would be back to full fitness for Brazil’s World Cup campaign, which begins next month. “I am in the home straight in terms of recovery and I’ll see if I am able to play (Saturday),” Neymar told fans. “I am back training.” Having lost in the Champions League to Atletico and the Copa del Rey to Real Madrid, La Liga is Barcelona’s last chance for silverware this season and Neymar said they would give it their all. Saturday’s clash between Atletico and Barca at the Nou Camp will be only the third “winner takes all” match on the final day of the campaign in history and the first since 1951. SAO PAULO - Barcelona forward Neymar has almost recovered from a foot injury and hopes to play in Saturday’s Spanish league decider against Atletico Madrid, the Brazilian said in an internet chat with fans on Monday. The 22-year-old will have a late fitness test before the game, one that Barcelona have to win to take the La Liga title for the fifth time in six seasons. Neymar also said he would be back to full fitness for Brazil’s World Cup campaign, which begins next month. “I am in the home straight in terms of recovery and I’ll see if I am able to play (Saturday),” Neymar told fans. “I am back training.” Having lost in the Champions League to Atletico and the Copa del Rey to Real Madrid, La Liga is Barcelona’s last chance for silverware this season and Neymar said they would give it their all. Saturday’s clash between Atletico and Barca at the Nou Camp will be only the third “winner takes all” match on the final day of the campaign in history and the first since 1951. A win or a draw would be enough for Atletico, while Barca need to beat the Madrid club to triumph by virtue of a superior head-to-head record, used to separate teams if they finish level on points. “We are really ready for this,” he said. “Atletico have a great team, great players and it is going to be hard to beat them but we have no other choice other than to go for it.” Neymar has struggled with injuries this year. He pulled a muscle that kept him out for several weeks in January and February and then injured the fourth metatarsal of his left foot in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid in April. However, he said the worst was over and promised to be 100 percent fit for the World Cup, the first to be held in Brazil since 1950. “I was a bit anxious over the call-up but after it happened I was really happy,” he said of last week’s squad announcement. “The penny hasn’t dropped yet, that will only happen once we’re there. There’s no reason for me to be nervous or feel pressure, you’re in your own country, with your family.” Neymar, who is thinking about getting a new hairstyle for the World Cup and plans to rehearse goal celebrations with his team mates, said he had told Barca team mate Lionel Messi that Argentina can forget about winning the World Cup in Brazil. “I told him: ‘There’s no way you’re going to do that in Brazil,’” Neymar said. “Our fans alone make it 1-0 to us.” Brazil play the opening game of the tournament on June 12 against Croatia in Sao Paulo. With his contract at McLaren coming to an end later this season, 2014 has always been viewed as a key campaign for Button, who is now the oldest driver on the grid at 34 and is in his 15th season in the world championship. But rather than feel demotivated by his current difficulties, Button says it is making him even more determined to sort out a fresh deal. “I definitely want to be in F1,” said Button, when asked if retirement was being considered in light of his current situation. “This sort of season does not make you want to retire. “If you do retire, you want to retire on a high and if you have the possibility to do that, then you continue racing to get that high. “The problem then is when you do that, you don’t want to stop racing either, so you could be racing for many years. “But no, I don’t feel I want to retire at the end of this year. Car bomb attacks kill 28 people in Baghdad
BOSTON — Three college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are asking a federal judge to have their cases tried outside of Massachusetts. Attorneys recently filed change of venue motions for Dias Kadyrbayev, Azamat Tazhayakov and Robel Phillipos, who used to attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with Tsarnaev. The three are set to appear in court this week starting on Tuesday, where they are expected to testify. Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov are Kazakhstan nationals who are charged with tampering with evidence for removing Tsarnaev’s laptop and a backpack containing fireworks from his college dorm room shortly after last year’s fatal bombing. Kadyrbayev also faces conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges. He and Tazhayakov have been held without bail for more than a year. Phillipos, of Cambridge, is accused of lying to investigators and wants his case to be tried separately. He has been held under house arrest. They have all pleaded not guilty. Their trial is scheduled to begin on June 30. Their lawyers say because of overwhelming media coverage of the case their clients won’t receive fair trials in Massachusetts. But prosecutors are opposed to any change of venue. Tsarnaev, 20, has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges in the April 15, 2013, bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260. He and his older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, allegedly placed two pressure cooker bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line. Three days later Tamerlan was killed in a gun battle with police, the same night Massachusetts Institute of Technology security officer Sean Collier was also shot and killed. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is facing state charges in Collier’s death. Federal prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the trial that is set to begin in November.

The communications ministry announced that the US-based site would be blocked following the discovery of Vimeo pages with names such as “Art of Nakedness” and “Nudie Cutie”, featuring naked and scantily-clad women. “We have recently received reports from the public about websites carrying negative and pornographic content... One of them is the site Vimeo.com,” said the ministry in a statement published late Monday. The ministry, headed by Communications Minister Tifatul Sembiring who has waged a campaign against illicit material on the Internet, said that Vimeo had been added to a list of 119 other sites banned over content deemed pornographic. Vimeo said on its Twitter account that the site was “blocked for some Indonesian users, but it’s on the Indonesian side and we can’t unblock it”. Other web users still appeared to have access on Tuesday morning but a ministry spokesman said all Internet service providers would have to fall into line with the government order. He tried to hide the drug in his under pant. “Altogether the customs authorities confiscated 3,712 grams of methamphetamine worth more than RP4.9 billion,” Okto Irianto said. NEW YORK — U.S. small business owners are keeping a cautious approach to running their companies even as they grow more optimistic. Two surveys released Tuesday, one by Wells Fargo & Co. and the other by Bank of America Corp., found many owners still have conservative hiring plans and little appetite for loans. Stronger revenue and cash flow are behind the increasing optimism. In the Bank of America spring survey, 68 percent of owners said they expect revenue to increase in the next 12 months. They feel confident about their local economies but have their eye on national and international issues that could affect their businesses. About three-quarters cited health care costs and the federal government’s effectiveness, or lack thereof, as potential problems. Seventy percent are concerned about higher commodities prices. Wells Fargo’s second-quarter Small Business Index rose to 47 from the first quarter’s 45, its highest level since
the second quarter of 2008, before the financial meltdown. That was still far below the high of 114 hit in December 2006, but much better than the minus 28 posted in the third quarter of 2010. The Wells Fargo survey found owners are gradually getting more optimistic about the prospects for their companies’ financial situation a year from now. Sixty-seven percent forecast their businesses would be in good shape, up from 66 percent in the first quarter. Fifty-nine percent expect their cash flow to be good over the next year, up from 57 percent. The Wells Fargo survey and Bank of America’s are in line with other recent reports that show owners’ confidence slowly improving. Both surveys found owners willing to hire. In the Wells Fargo survey, 21 percent plan to hire in the next 12
months, little changed from 22 percent in the first quarter. A larger number of owners in the Bank of America survey, 52 percent, said they were willing to hire, a jump of 21 percentage points from a year earlier. Despite that gain, Robb Hilson, head of small business banking at Bank of America, still notes owners’ caution. “They’re probably not going to hire in explosive numbers like they did 10 years ago,” he said. Loans are easier for small businesses to get, adding to owners’ confidence, although many don’t want to borrow. Only 14 percent of owners surveyed by Bank of America said they plan to apply for loans this year, down from 19 percent a year ago. Owners just don’t need loans right now: More than half said their businesses are well-funded, and 42 percent said they don’t want to take on any more debt. The Bank of America survey questioned 1,000 small business owners during March. The Wells Fargo survey questioned 600 owners from March 31 to April 4.
LONDON - Home ownership is pursued almost as a right in Britain but the housing market has a history of boom and bust -- and fears are growing of a new bubble. The Bank of England, three former finance ministers and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have all raised concerns that rising prices could threaten Britain’s economic recovery. House prices across the country rose at 10.9 percent in the year to April, the fastest rate for four years. In London, the increase was 18 percent, according to Nationwide, Britain’s leading mortgage provider. The cost of a house in the capital is now 20 percent higher than it was at their previous peak before the financial crisis in 2008 sent values tumbling, although the rest of the country has yet to regain pre-recession levels. Buying their own place is a dream of many Britons, encouraged by successive governments, notably that of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher, which allowed tenants of social housing to buy their homes. But the dream is becoming harder and harder to realise. In the early 1980s, the average first-time buyer was 27 or 28 years old and paid an average of £17,000 (the equivalent of £49,000 or 60,000 euros/$83,000 in today’s prices) for their home. Today, they are 30 and pay an average of just under £147,000, according to a study by HSBC. In London, the average property now costs £480,000 (590,000 euros) according to online portal Rightmove, 14 times the median salary and a sum beyond the reach of key workers such as nurses and many teachers. Some of the growth has been fuelled by foreign investors looking for a safe haven for their money. In a new record for property in London, a buyer from Eastern Europe reportedly bought a penthouse in an exclusive development overlooking Hyde Park recently for a staggering £140 million. Finance Minister George Osborne sought to calm the rampant overseas interest that risks transforming parts of the city into ghost streets, by announcing in March a new tax on high-end properties owned by non-residents. “We know we should be nervous about what’s going on in the housing market,” the Bank of England’s outgoing chief economist Spencer Dale told parliament earlier this month. Jon Cunliffe, deputy governor for financial stability, has also said that spiralling property prices are the “brightest (hazard) light” on the Bank’s dashboard. The OECD added to pressure to cool the housing market in a report last week, warning that prices were soaring when compared to rents and household incomes. Nintendo is apologizing and pledging to be more inclusive after being criticized for not recognizing same-sex relationships in English editions of a life-simulator video game. The publisher said that while it was too late to change the current game, it was committed to building virtual equality into future versions if they’re produced.

Gamers can do things like shop, play games, go on dates, get married and encounter celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Shaquille O’Neal. Already a hit in Japan, “Tomodachi Life” is set for release June 6 in North America and Europe. Tye Marini, a 23-year-old gay Nintendo fan from Mesa, Arizona, launched a social media campaign last month seeking virtual equality for the game’s characters. “I want to be able to marry my reallife fiancé’s Mii, but I can’t do that,” Marini said in a video posted online that attracted the attention of gaming sites and online forums this past week. “My only options are to marry some female Mii, to change the gender of
either my Mii or my fiancé’s Mii or to completely avoid marriage altogether and miss out on the exclusive content that comes with it.” Marini said Saturday that he was “very happy” with Nintendo’s response. “I don’t believe they are a homophobic company at all,” Marini said. “I think that the exclusion of same-sex relationships was just an unfortunate oversight.” Yet the issue does mark a cultural divide between Japan, where gay marriage is not legal, and North America and Europe, where gay marriage has become legal in some places. Balinese Temple Ceremony Every Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc. The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

ORLANDO, Florida — The centerpiece of the new Harry Potterthemed area at Universal Orlando Resort will take visitors into Gringotts bank to help retrieve a magical object and re-create a scene from the wildly popular book and movie series. Universal executives announced Tuesday that the ride will be called “Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.” It re-creates a scene from the final Harry Potter book and film. “It takes you into one of the great moments of the fiction,” said Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative. The ride and the themed area — called the Wizarding World of Harry PotterDiagon Alley — will open in the summer. It will double the size of the Harry Potter landscape in the park. Among the features of the new ride: a 60-foot (18-meter) dragon atop Gringotts
Wizarding Bank, a labyrinth of Gringotts vaults, and a marble hall with goblins. Riders will be taken into a world as part of a quest to retrieve a magical object to defeat Lord Voldemort. by a novel corona virus (MERSCoV), which was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause diseases ranging from common cold to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Earlier, the Xinhua news agency reported that Saudi Arabia’s registered number of MERS coronavirus cases had increased to 480 by Saturday (May 10), including 139 deaths, after adding six new cases and six more deaths, noted the
country’s Health Ministry. One of the patients was diagnosed and died in the last 24 hours, while the remaining cases were previously detected as critical cases, according to the Health Ministry’s portal. Of the six newly identified cases, one is receiving treatment at the ICU, three are in stable condition and two are showing no symptoms. Three of the new cases are from Riyadh, two from Jeddah, and one from Mecca. In addition, another six cases,
two men and four women, have fully recovered and have been discharged from the hospital. The coronavirus was first discovered in mid-2012 in an old man with acute pneumonia and renal failure. It has spread from the Gulf countries to North Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe, killing more than a hundred people and infecting hundreds of others. Saudi Arabia has recorded the highest number of MERS cases in the world, registering new cases and deaths almost on a daily basis.
