Review: Bieber not in pop star form at concert Associated Press Writer
NEWARK, New Jersey — For all the negative publicity that’s surrounded Justin Bieber in recent months — the alleged drinking, smoking, spitting, fighting with a paparazzo and more — he entered the stage at the Prudential Center in angelic form: In all white, he descended to the center of the stage with wings on his sides as nearly 20,000 fans screamed at the top of their lungs. These girls had Bieber Fever, and they didn’t want to be cured. They cheered on the 19-year-old, who kicked off his Wednesday night concert with the high energy, electroflavored songs “All Around the World” and “Take You.” There were pyrotechnics bursting to match the tracks’ sparkle, fan-made signs in every row and lights beaming from the cell phones capturing pictures and video. Bieber didn’t have to move, and the arena would still have been in a frenzy. The pop star took advantage of that during his 90-minute concert. During the opening up-tempo numbers, he seemed to be lip syncing and his sluggish, lazy dancing didn’t match the oomph of the beats. Bieber was far better when he slowed things down, singing on grooves or mid-tempo tunes. But the multiplatinum singer is part of a group of contemporary acts who have a plethora of hits, but have not yet learned how to fully command onstage and truly connect with an audience. Bieber phoned in a good amount during his show; at some moments, he even appeared bored. He was clocking in — another day, another sold-out concert (Wednesday was Bieber’s second night at Prudential). When performing the hit “Beauty and a
Beat,” he couldn’t keep up with his background dancers. He was lip syncing again — much like a number of today’s pop stars when trying to keep up with decent choreography. Though talented, Bieber isn’t as good as Chris Brown, who also appears to lip sync but dances with clarity, precision and edge. During “She Don’t Like the Lights,” Bieber barely moved to the track’s futuristic beat (maybe it was the leather tights?) The Canadian singer was in better form when he sang R&B numbers and groovier jams instead of high-powered, dance-flavored tunes — much like his performance on his latest album, “Believe.” He impressed when he warmed up his vocals before singing the soft “Catching Feelings” and he offered a singer-songwriter vibe during “Fall,” where he also played guitar. While on the drums, Bieber was most natural, and during what feels like his life anthem — “Never Say Never” — he was confident as he sang the positive, inspirational lyrics to the crowd. The singer’s best effort was on “Die In Your Arms,” which samples Michael Jackson’s “We Got a Good Thing Going.” His vocals were crisp and his dance moves slick, as he and six background dancers paid tribute with the throwback performance.

Lohan completes rehab stint; more therapy ordered Associated Press Writer
LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan has completed her court-ordered stay in rehab and must continue therapy into late next year, a judge said Wednesday. The “Liz & Dick” star must meet with a therapist at least three times a week until November 2014, Superior Court Judge James R. Dabney said, following the treatment recommendation of Richard Taite, founder and CEO of Cliffside Malibu, the rehab facility where Lohan was recently residing. Taite wrote Dabney a letter stating the need for Lohan to remain in therapy. “Our entire clinical team is in unanimous agreement that if these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a setup for almost certain failure,” Taite wrote. The judge’s ruling calls for Lohan to receive 18 months of therapy and gives her credit for the three months of rehab that she has just completed. If the actress is traveling, she can meet with her therapist via videoconferencing software, the judge said. Lohan, 27, was not present
at the hearing meant to update Dabney on her progress. The actress remains on probation for a pair of cases involving the theft of a necklace and lying to police about driving.

For that reason, the elements of the Balinese people rallied on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. They rallied to force the governor to evoke the letter. In the letter stated the PT. TWBI is given the right to do reclamation on Benoa Bay. They protesters also brought posters
showing the effect of reclamation to Bali. According to some activists, the 834 hectare of reclamation will damage the environment such as abrasion in other places and affect the fishermen. It is also against the moratorium rule which is published by the governor himself. “We joined in Kekal Bali rejected the
reclamation in Benoa Bay. We also urge the governor to evoke the letter and don’t take the right of the people in Benoa,” said Era Sukmayanti who is also the Head of Unhi Student Association. The spokesman of the rally Suryadi Darmoko said that the letter number 2138/02-C/HK/2012 regarding the right to use and develop the water in Benoa Bay is given to PT TWBI since December 26, 2012. The weird thing is the Governor didn’t admit that he has published such letter. “Because of that the governor must apologize to Bali,” he added.
“The reclamation will threaten the life of Balinese people especially the one in the bay area. The will lost their source of income, that is way the reclamation must be prevented,’ Suryadi said. Musician also took part in the rally. The band Superman is Dead (SID) also rejected the reclamation plan. The one who was joining was Jerinx and Eka. “I rejected the plan. It has bad effect even though the governor said it is good for economy,” Jerinx said. He gave the example of the reclamation of Serangan Island which is given bad effect to the surrounding area. He urged everyone to reject the reclamation plan. (kmb29)
