1.0 - DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS AND REFLECTIONS
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS AND REFLECTIONS Although the ramp design means that a disabled visitor to the site must travel much farther than an able-bodied person, the gradient is near constant (at 1:14), landings are at regular intervals, and there aere excellent views of the surrounding area. This should result a consistent and pleasant experience for users. The simple render below illustratres the route of the main ramp.
Despite the above considerations, the ramp design could be improved by adding a series of much larger, covered landings at strategic points, which could function as points of rest, shelter from the elements, and lookouts. The three points outlined in red below are potential points for such additions: they’re relatively evenly spaced and provide views from three different levels.
The ramp has railings at both 1m and 0.5m, heights that should prove adequate for all variety of users (see below). NOTE: THE RENDERS ON THIS PAGE ARE ONLY TO ILLUSTRATE MY DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS AND REFLECTIONS AND ARE NOT MY FINALS.

5.0 - VOLUME CALCULATIONS
ORIGINAL SITE MODEL EXCESS SOIL AFTER SITE MODIFICATIONS: 5,130.88 CUBIC METRES.
5.0 - VOLUME CALCULATIONS
This is roughly enough to create a large tiered planting on the steeper slope to the south west of the house, beside the ramp leading to the Upper path:
TOTAL VOLUME: 1, 848,357.68 CUBIC METRES.
MODIFIED SITE MODEL
This could be used to display specimens of interest, as a productive garden, or simply as a means to soften the slope for those traversing the landscape without the aid of the newly-constructed and super amazing accessible ramp.
NEW VOLUME AFTER CONSTRUCTION OF TIERED PLANTING WITH EXCESS: 1,848,507.93 CUBIC METRES (AN ACCEPTABLE MARGIN OF ERROR).
TOTAL VOLUME: 1, 843,226.80 CUBIC METRES.

ALSO NOTE: Although linework displays digitally as deformed and spikey along curvs in the geometry, the printed drawing contains no such irregularities.

5.0 - TOPOGRAPHIC MANIPULATIONS 7.0
TOPOGRAPHIC MANIPULATION #1
The terrain in this test was generated using a displace modifier with
Trees were excluded from the terrain where water is present by
a dem terrain map (see right) and a plane with a water texture, .
‘painting’ an exclude area in forest pack. This is an extremely useful and exciting tool (see right)!
On top of that is a turbosmooth modifier and three forest objects generated using ForestPackPro (one for trees, one for rocks, one for foliage on the ground).
Dem terrain map from Nepal.

THE ANIMATION OF THIS MANIPULATION CAN BE VIEWED HERE: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=FTWI82Z9KN4&FEATURE=YOUTU.BE This manipulation was generated using a simple ripple modifier animated over a hundred frames. Though by no means an excellent animation, it demonstrates: - how easy a simple animation can be - the impact that very simple tweaks to the modifier can have.
