Dear fellow EO
Kenya members,
I know it feels like the new year has already begun but the current board is still in place until 30th June. We have been ready for this for a while.
When I decided to put myself forward for this role, I made a commitment to myself: that if this chapter was going to have a year worth remembering, it would require real preparation, not good intentions. So we started in January. We went to GLC in Ireland. We ran a pulse survey that reached nearly three-quarters of you. We held an externally facilitated Strategy Summit in May. We built a three-year Long Term Plan. And today, what you’re looking at is Year 1 of that plan — not a starting point, but a continuation of something already in motion.
I have been a member of EO Kenya long enough to know what it looks like when this community is working at its best. I’ve been Forum Moderator. I’ve been Member Engagement Chair. I know the moments that change people — and I know the friction that gets in the way. This board was built with all of that in mind.
A note from our Incoming President
Our three priorities this year are Member Experience, Net Growth, and Operational Excellence. But underneath the language, what we’re really committing to is simple: that by the time we hand over to the next board, every member in this chapter should be able to say they felt more connected to EO than ever before.
Below you’ll meet the people who are going to make that happen — and exactly what we’re putting on the line. We want you to hold us to it.
This is your chapter. We are simply fortunate enough to lead it.

Our strategy & commitment
Three priorities. One direction
Agreed at the Strategy Summit in May 2026. This isn’t a new idea — it’s the operating structure that delivers what we already decided together, and what we’re committing to put on the line this year.
PRIORITY 01 · MEMBER EXPERIENCE
Fewer, better, more intentional moments. Every event earns its place — quality over calendar-filling.
One story, told consistently, so EO Kenya finally has a clear and proud external presence.
To deliver a stellar member experience — so that every member feels more connected to EO than eve
PRIORITY 02 · NET GROWTH
A consistent, high-quality pipeline. Growth that protects forum health and chapter culture — not chasing numbers.
Everything after a member says yes — thoughtful integration, forum placement, and keeping the people we have.
To grow deliberately and retain intentionally — adding the right members and making sure no one slips away quietly.
Operational Backbone
Clear roles, documented processes, and a budget that follows strategy — the infrastructure that makes everything else possible
The full strategic framework is available to all members on request.
To run a chapter that simply works — so the board’s energy goes into members, not admin.
By 30 June 2027, every member of EO Kenya should be able to say: “I feel more connected to EO than I ever have.”
That's the single most important thing — everything above is in service of it. We'll check in openly at mid-year, share what's working and what isn't, and if we're off track, you'll hear it from us first. Hold us to it.
EO Accelerator Kenya 2026 – 27 Our future members. Our current community.
EO Accelerator is where the entrepreneurs who will one day be EO Kenya members are being built. This year, we are closing the gap between the Accelerator and the main chapter — deliberately and visibly.
What this means in practice
Joint programming
EO Accelerator is where the entrepreneurs who will one day be EO Kenya members are being built. This year, we are closing the gap between the Accelerator and the main chapter — deliberately and visibly.
Member mentorship
EO members matched with Accelerator cohorts — a bridge between where they are and where they’re headed.
Shared visibility
Accelerator milestones and wins featured in the Friday Shot alongside member news — one community, two programmes.
Graduation pipeline
A clear, supported path from Accelerator graduation to EO membership — no gap, no confusion.

Past Event: The Family Carrier
At our recent EO learning event, The Family Carrier, facilitated by Joe Okello of the Association of Family Business Enterprises, members explored a role that exists in many families and businesses, yet is rarely discussed openly.
A “carrier” is often the person who quietly holds responsibility, absorbs pressure, and becomes the steady point around which others rely. Not a hero, and not a victim, but someone carrying a weight that is often unseen by those around them. What resonated throughout the session was just how common this experience is. Many leaders recognised themselves, or someone close to them, in the conversations that followed.
Perhaps the most important takeaway was this: the goal is not to create stronger carriers. The goal is to build healthier systems where the load is shared, support is available, and no one person feels solely responsible for carrying the burden. A thought-provoking and highly relevant session for anyone navigating the complexities of family, business, and leadership. Be sure to catch future learning events hosted by the chapter.
