Looking back, how would you describe your journey in EO so far?
The initial days of being a founding member of EO Kenya was exciting, like with any new venture journey. My role as the first Membership Chair was recognized as producing the highest growth in Chapter membership, because the Board at that time under Sri’s leadership embraced my process & system oriented approach to making membership recruitment into a well oiled machine. Another significant memory was attending the first GLC in Athens with the EO Kenya Board, and in the spirit of “Boldly Go”, we all rented out Segways for a night time tour of Athens ... and none of us had ever been on a Segway before. It felt like being a kid again.
What kind of value have you gained from these events?
When did you join EO, and what stage of life or business were you in at the time?
Recently moved to Kenya, looking for a trusted network, didn’t want to go the ‘Wednesday Koroga’ route, and although I had just joined YPO (an amazing trusted network), I imagined being in EO would mean I get to be around & learn from highly resourceful entrepreneurs, many of whom know how to live on the edge of risk vs opportunity. Also, I must give credit to Neel Shah of Kenblest for introducing me to EO, and Sri for sharing his powerful story of impact through EO. These two guys is why I joined EO.
Which international learning events or EO global programs have you attended?
What first encouraged you to attend your first international learning event?
Being a part of the founding Board of EO Kenya, wanting to learn from GLC train how to best perform in my Board role, and contribute to my own development & expand my trusted network.
What would you tell a new EO member about international learning events?
Sri would always say that in EO we “Carry Our Own Bags” ... for new members it’s important to really take it to heart ... this means what you put into your EO experience by attending events, committing to fourm, volunteering for leadership roles, etc... is what determines the value you get out of EO. Besides that I’ll add that it’s also important to be intentional about what you want to get from EO & be willing to open up and be vulnerable when it’s appropriate.
How can members make the most of everything EO has to offer?
Get Involved with intention, passion and vulnerability. During the 14yrs I’ve been asked many times about making time because life gets too busy. My reply is always the same ... EO & YPO are time hacks ... by attending events, forum and volunteering for leadership roles I learn so much & apply back in work & life without the hit & miss time waste that would happen if I tried to fix or learn stuff on my own.
In one or two sentences, what does EO mean to you today?
Embrace Extraordinary Ownership of one’s own experience of life by diving deep without fear or hesitation into everything that EO offers
Friday Shot
What has been the single biggest value EO has brought into your life?
My forum of 14yrs ... without a doubt. Every single person who is or was in the ZOAD forum has contributed to making me a better person in so many ways. While Neel & I are the two OGs in ZOAD since inception, it’s truly incredible how much impact newer members have had as they join the forum... simply because every forum member has managed to uphold the same purpose, values, discipline & confidentiality of forum all these years.
Is there one moment, insight, or connection from an international event that really stands out?
To be honest, I haven’t done many International Events in EO as I could or should have, so the one that stands out is still the first GLC I attended in Athens, getting pissed drunk while partying with so many fun-loving EOers on absinthe, waking up without remembering how I got to my hotel room, and getting to the GLC training on time & sober.
What would you tell a long-standing EO member who has never attended one?
I’m probably not the person to tell a long-standing member about attending International Events ... I need to walk the talk first.
What would you encourage members to do more of within EO?
Committ 500% to a Forum, and actively model what a great forum member should be. If you’re not getting value from the forum, be or make the change in the forum instead of leaving or quiet quitting. A great forum is a life saver.
Go to events & meet members you don’t know. Be intentional about what you want to learn from the event, or what questions you want to get answers from. Many times the answer is from the members ... not just the event speaker.
Volunteer for Leadership Roles - in your forum, chapter, region and global. This really amplifies the value you get out of EO
Meet-Ups with Members - inter-forum or random groups, etc.. to meet more diverse members over meaningful conversations. I need to do more of this ... we don’t need to wait for an event to meet.
Shot
Thank You ... I’ve said a lot but not necessarily walking the talk. This is something I’ll change in 2026 Any final message you’d like to share with the EO Kenya community?

Apply for an EO KENYA subsidy
You have just seen the overview of what is out there. Harvard, EMP, EO Universities, leadership academies, regional events and more. If something on that list excites you, we want to help you get there.
The EO Kenya board has set aside budget to subsidise members who want to attend approved EO programs and who are willing to bring the value back to the chapter.
How to apply for a subsidy
Please send an email to the EO Kenya Board with:
The program you want to attend
Name of the EO program, location, and organiser (for example EO at Harvard, EO University, RLA, GLC etc).
Dates and timelines
Event dates, application deadlines, and when you would need to commit or pay.
Your motivation
Why this program is right for you now in your EO and business journey.
Why EO should subsidise you
How you expect this experience to grow you as an entrepreneur and leader.
Want
What you will bring back to EO Kenya
to apply for an EO education program? 13TH
Specific ideas on how you will share your learnings or value with the chapter. For example a short learning session, a Forum exercise, a board presentation or a MyEO event.
Rough budget
Indicative cost of the program fee, plus a simple idea of travel and accommodation, so the board understands the total picture.
A few simple guidelines
• Subsidies are limited and will be granted at the board’s discretion.
• Preference will go to members in good standing who are actively engaged in EO Kenya life.
• We will look for clear alignment between the program and EO’s core values and products.
If you are even slightly curious, apply. Education is one of the most powerful parts of EO. We would rather have too many strong applications than unused budget.
