As another season draws to a close, we celebrate the competitive spirit that makes soccer so special. Our State Cup Championships showcased teams from across Eastern New York competing with passion, determination, and sportsmanship as they gave their best in pursuit of a title. We congratulate all of our participants and wish our National Championship qualifiers the best of luck as they represent our region on the national stage. As club competition concludes, we now come together as fans to support our nations and enjoy the excitement of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The 3v3 Summer Soccer Series is a statewide small-sided tournament that combines fastpaced competition with a fun, festival-style atmosphere. Find the location nearest you, bring your best game, and show us what you've got!

Competition is at the heart of every great soccer journey.

Throughout June, we celebrate Competition Month and the role competition plays in helping players grow, improve, and reach their full potential. Whether competing in local leagues, State Cup championships, or on the international stage, every challenge presents an opportunity to learn, develop resilience, and strive for excellence.

Closer to home, State Cup season showcased the very best of youth soccer as teams battled for championships and the opportunity to represent Eastern New York on a larger stage. The lessons learned through competition teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and determination help shape not only better players, but stronger individuals.

The impact of competition can be seen at the highest levels of the game. This month, we highlight five players on the U.S. Men's National Team World Cup roster who have ties to Eastern New York Youth Soccer. Their journeys demonstrate how dedication, development, and competition can create pathways world's biggest stage.

It is a drum I have beaten before, and one that is revisited on almost every coaching license or diploma course offered. Based on the many games I have watched this season, it is a drum worth beating again.

The conversation usually begins with a simple question: What makes soccer unique? From there, we connect the nature of the game to how players learn and what they enjoy most about playing.

Eventually, coaches arrive at an important realization: soccer is a game that demands players read and understand situations, scan constantly, and make countless rapid decisions based on what they perceive around them Decision-making is not a small part of the game it is the game
