LIBRARY FOUNDATION of Los angeles The Library Foundation of Los Angeles provides critical support to the Los Angeles Public Library resulting in free programs, resources, and services available to the millions of adults, children, and youth in Los Angeles. Through fundraising, advocacy, and innovative programs, the Library Foundation strengthens the Los Angeles Public Library and promotes greater awareness of its valuable resources. Serving the Los Angeles community since 1992 as an independent fundraising organization, the Library Foundation closely partners with all 73 Los Angeles Public Library locations to enhance the resources and services offered to Angelenos. Working to support the City’s responsibility to fund the Public Library, the Foundation has raised over $125 million in transformational support. From funding literacy programs to equipping libraries with the latest technology, the Library Foundation is dedicated to keeping the Library open and thriving for generations to come.Together, our dream is to transform Los Angeles and the World through the power of our Libraries.

IDEAL CANDIDATE The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles is an experienced and enthusiastic leader, setting an organizational vision that is responsive to the needs of both our stakeholders and the community we serve. A purpose-driven leader, the ideal candidate provides direction and mentorship to the staff of the Foundation, inspires strategic vision with the Board of Directors, and builds outstanding relationships in and throughout Los Angeles, to advance our fundraising and programmatic objectives. The President & CEO is primarily responsible for the organization’s ambitious fundraising initiatives, working with our dedicated team to raise an operating budget of $8M per year and driving the Foundation’s overarching organizational strategy. In collaboration with the executive fundraising team, the candidate will identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts from individual donors, corporations, and foundations in support of the Foundation’s vision and mission. The President and Chief Executive Officer embodies the vision, mission, and core values of the Foundation, and is the public face of its engagement and resources.
