Solanco High School To Present “Much Ado About Nothing” S

olanco High School will present William Shakes p e a r e ’s “ M u c h A d o About Nothing” as its fall play. Performances will take place on Wednesday to Saturday, Nov. 19 to 22, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Solanco High School, 585 Solanco Road, Quarryville. People may purchase tickets with cash or check at the door or in advance by visiting the main office at Solanco High School. All tickets are general admission, and students will receive a discount. With a script adapted for modern audiences by director Jennifer Blastland, “Much Ado About Nothing” is a fast-paced comedy full of love, laughter, and clever twists. Set in sunny Messina, it tells the story of two very different romances: the

fiery banter between Beatrice a nd B e ne d i c k , w h o s e e m sworn to outwit each other until their friends set a playful trap, and the tender courtship of Claudio and Hero, nearly ruined by a cruel trick. With mix-ups, misunderstandings, and the bumbling antics of Dogberry and the Town Watch, this play showcases some of Shakespeare’s sharpest wit and warmest moments. The production is financed completely by the Solanco High School Drama Troupe 1004, which is chartered by the International Thespian Society. This year, more than 50 students will be involved in the production as actors, crew members, set painters, set builders, and ushers. Free Coats Available for Community Members The Solanco Coats For All coat drive giveaway will take place on Friday, Nov. 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Oak Hill Fellowship Church, 1 W. Fourth St., Quarryville. The giveaway will be a free shopping event for anyone in the community who is in need of a coat. Refreshments, including cookies, will be available while people search for a coat. Throughout the month of October, businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals worked together to collect coat donations. Coat collection took place at various locations around the community, including Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, Neff Physical Therapy, Solanco schools, Oak Hill Fellowship, Solanco Neighborhood Volunteers display some of the coats that will be available

RTCM Plans Upcoming Banquets BY GEORGE DEIBEL

Restart Training Center Ministry (RTCM) is seeking business sponsors and selling tickets for two fundraisers. The 11th annual Valentine Banquet will be held Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at the Shady Maple Banquet Hall, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; the meal will be served at 6:15 p.m.
