Chamber of Commerce Will Hold Conference BY GEORGE DEIBEL
The inaugural occasion was such a big success that the Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce (SLCCC) will host its second annual Professional Development Conference. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DoubleTree Resort Lancaster, 2400 Willow Street Pike. Tickets for SLCCC members and people from the community are on sale through Friday, Oct. 3. Community members will receive a coupon to use on their membership if they decide to join the group. Go to https://southernlan casterchamber.org/conference/ to purchase tickets. SLCCC conference committee chair Jadan Willis said the event is designed for small business owners and nonprofit organizations. “It’s a two for one,” said Willis. “It’s education and networking built into one event, and it’s affordable, and it’s efficient because you can cram a lot of value into a six-hour day. It’s customized to you in the sense that you can pick your own classes and then also meet new people, whether they’re members of our chamber or are other guests, because we will have a lot of networking time between the breakfast and the lunch and then in between sessions as well.” SLCCC president Kr isten Phipps added, “The networking is a big thing, bringing in a variety of business members and also professionals. It’s not necessarily only geared towards business See Chamber pg 2 WITH COUPON
