The Quarryville Fire Department will host its first car show on Saturday, June 24, at Memorial Park, 297 Park Ave., Quarryville. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it will include live entertainment, food vendors and prize drawings. Members of the public are invited to enter vehicles such as vintage cars and antique tractors in the show. Vehicles will be able to be entered by donation. Food will be available to purchase from vendors such as Bulldawg BBQ, The Fry Shack and Premium Shaved Ice, and live entertainment will be provided by a DJ. Attendees will have an opportunity to enter several 50/50 prize drawings throughout the event, and proceeds will benefit the Quarryville Fire Department. Registration is not required for the show; anyone interested in participating may arrive at Memorial Park with his or her vehicle on the day of the event. The Quarryville Fire Department decided to introduce the car show this year in addition to its regular fundraisers such as food drives, as well as other community events. “We’re looking forward to bringing people together and having fun with the community,” said Jason Hess, a fire police officer from the Quarryville Fire Department.
