Making a musical splash PVIS to stage “The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition” BY ANN MEAD ASH

Spring tea to benefit Christiana library

A relaxer, a listener, and a friend

Morgan, a 3-year-old black Labrador retriever who serves as the facility dog at Salisbury Elementary School, exhibits a calm demeanor that is welcome among students, faculty, and staff. “I find the benefit to be that the relationship with (Morgan) relaxes the student,” said Angela DeBalko, Salisbury learning support teacher and Morgan’s caregiver. “I work with students who have reading difficulties, and I find her to be a great support,” shared DeBalko. “She will lay with them while they read to her, and she is a great listener.” While the 60-pound female goes home with DeBalko each evening, DeBalko’s fellow learning support teacher, Amanda Lopez, is Amanda Lopez (left), Caroline Metzgar (center), also trained to work with Morgan. and Angela DeBalko all enjoy working with Morgan, the Salisbury Elementary School facility dog.

The Friends of the Moores Memorial Library will present a “Hop’n Into Spring” tea party on Saturday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event, which will feature afternoon tea fare, will take place at Christiana Fire Company, 214 S. Bridge St., Christiana. Although it is not required, attendees are encouraged to dress in tea attire, which includes hats or fascinators, which are decorative headpieces that are

attached to the head with a hair clip or comb. A limited number of fascinators will be available for purchase at the event. The tea is a popular annual event, and each year has its own unique theme. Last year’s tea was themed “Welcome Spring.” Previous themes have included “Downton Abbey” and “Gone With the Wind.” During the event, tea will be served in authentic teacups with saucers. “We will have an assortment of sweets and savories.
