ssisting veterans. That’s why the Millersville VFW Post 7294 Auxiliary exists, and the group is living up to its mission. On Jan. 2, the auxiliary delivered goods to Tenfold, a Lancaster citybased charity dedicated to helping people find safe and affordable housing. “I heard of the Veterans’ Victory House through the Tenfold organization that’s located on King Street,” said auxiliary trustee Phyllis Diller, who coordinated the project. “They help house homeless veterans, plus other families and couples in need of care. At ACYS, Singing Lessons Take on Whole Different Meaning BY JEFF FALK

Amadeus Chorale Youth Singers (ACYS) uses singing as an avenue, a tool, to provide children with opportunities to discover themselves and learn about the worlds around them. “Singing is a natural process,” said Darla Bair, the founder and artistic director of ACYS. “Many R124667

children sing before they speak. We all sing. The fourth annual Penn Manor Cheer Bingo Extravaganza will be held Saturd ay, Jan. 24, at Penn Manor High School, 100 E. Cottage Ave., Millersville. Doors will open at noon; bingo will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are available in advance and may also be purchased at the door. The prizes will include designer purses by designers Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Coach, along with tools such as drills, saws, and lights. There will also be four special games for an additional fee, with the big reward a Blackstone grill. Hot dogs, baked goods, soup, sandwiches, chips, and beverages will be for sale. The activity is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Penn Manor cheerleading program, booster club president Jen Breidenstein said. “It’s a day to have fun,” she said. “Drop by and support a local team.” Penn Manor Cheer will also accept donations for Loft Community Partnership. Each participant for bingo who brings a donation such as trash bags, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, and laundry detergent will get a ticket and be entered to win a prize, with a limit of 10 tickets. “It’s our little way of See Bingo pg 3
