T h e a n n u a l Pa r k e s b u r g Churches Community Outreach (PCCO) car show, which benefits The Parkesburg POINT Youth Center, will have an additional component this year - a holiday craft show featuring items made by the Christian Crafters from Parkesburg United Methodist Church (PUMC). T he event will take place rain or shine on Saturday, Oct. 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at The POINT, located at 700 Main St., Parkesburg. Admission is free; donations will be accepted. According to Mark Beiderman, PUMC pastor, the PCCO car show began about 15 years ago. “It (took place) in the Acme parking lot, which it is now Planet Fitness. Once The POINT moved into the old Charlie’s Supermarket, we moved it there,” he explained, noting that the car show was also held at one time at LC Auto Body in Parkesburg. “The participants have always been very generous, and the proceeds have always gone to The POINT. It is always a fun event, and the money goes for a great cause.” Vehicle owners of all makes and models are welcome; trophies will be awarded in various classes. “(Categories will include) original, best truck, best bike, best tractor and coolest ride,” said Beiderman. “People bring tractors, motorcycles, rat rods and original cars. Anything that has wheels on it is welcome to the car show.” Vehicle owners will be entered into a drawing for door prizes. Some prizes will be provided by
