WFCS students clean up trash in Parkesburg’s Minch Park.

Additionally, WFCS had a dumpster available at the school from Harris Metals of Coatesville where school family members and the community could donate recyclable metal, also to benefit the school. By the end of the day, students and parent volunteers had collected over 100 bags of trash. “In addition, we filled two large containers with metals,” reported WFCS principal Heather Furlong, noting that for all the scrap metal collected, Harris Metals donated 100% of the proceeds to the school. Community yard sale set in Parkesburg BY FRANCINE FULTON
Parkesburg residents are invited to take part in a spring community yard sale on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. And in addition to setting up at their homes, sale tables for vendors will be available in Minch Park, courtesy of the Parkesburg Action Committee (PAC). “PAC is adding something exciting to our annual community yard sale,” said PAC member Tina O’Connor. “(There has been a yard sale) for 20 years or more.
There is one in April and one in September. This is the first time we are making Minch Park available.” Setup for the yard sale will start at 6:30 a.m. Tables under the pavilion in the park will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents may also bring thier own tables to the park. “ We are trying something different,” O’Connor added. “We have quite a few people who live in apartments (without space to set up a yard sale).” In addition to the yard sale See Yard sale pg 2
