ark Mueller and his wife, Jackie, took a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and turned it into an opportunity to help others. Jackie was diagnosed with MS in 1998, and the couple sought to treat the disease as naturally as possible, without medication. They experimented with nutrition and exercise to see what worked and what didn’t, and their research led to MS FitEffect, a free, 10-week program for people with MS. The next session will run from Saturday, Sept. 6, through Saturday, Nov. 15, at Elizabethtown Fitness Club, 626 S. A World of Wonder Awaits Inside the Bookmobile

It ’s more than books on wheels. The Library System of Lancaster County’s (LSLC) bookmobile delivers knowledge, creativity, inspiration and joy. The bookmobile is kind of like a food truck serving up nourishment for the mind and soul. “Reading in general is very important,” said Audrey Lilley, the bookmobile’s driver, curator and full-time coordinator. “It’s important for kids to be reading. It’s important for them to

be able to pick up a book and see characters who look like them. Reading can be inspirational, and with retirees, it kind of comes full circle. I think retirees can find comfort in reading. For all people in between, it’s a way to relax and unwind.” W h e n n o t o n t h e g o to multiple locations all across Lancaster County, Lilley parks the bookmobile at LSLC’s main office at 1866 Colonial Village Lane, Suite 107, Lancaster. Visitors to last year’s Landis Woods Outdoor Fine Arts Show admire an artist’s work.

Not unlike beauty, art is in the eye of the beholder. Art is what you make of it. Art is where you find it. Art moves us all, each in our own unique way. Interpretation will abound at the Landis Woods Outdoor Fine Arts Show. “I’m not really an art guy, but it takes all kinds,” said

Outpour Seeking Singers for Kids’ Choir Katie Wieand believes in using her gifts to serve others. That’s why she is the director of the Outpour Community Worship Choirs. The choirs rehearse in Grace Community Church of Willow Street, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street. The Outpour Kids Community Worship Choir for children in kindergarten through eighth grade will practice from 6 to 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays from Oct. 2 to Nov. 13. The deadline to register at www.outpourkids .com is Sunday, Sept. 28. There is a fee, which includes music and materials and a performance shirt. “If finances are an issue, we have scholarships,” Wieand said. “We have people in our congregation who have set aside resources to be able to help families.” There is also an audition choir for students in grades six through eight who are advanced and interested in specialized training in worship leading. The fall auditions have already been held. The winter session will start Thursday, Jan. 29. The choirs are open to every kid regardless of location. “I think it’s important for families to know that by joining a choir here, it doesn’t mean you’re leaving your church,” Wieand said. “This is just like a a sports program that’s out at a rec league, and you’re just gaining skills to be able to use back at your school. This is here for the whole community.” The choir rehearsals will culminate with a free concert at Grace Community Church on Friday,

ctions can be moving and influential. They don’t need words. Silence speaks volumes. Hope Inspire Love’s Freedom Walk raises awareness and funds for the war on human trafficking and sexual exploitation through the silent treatment. “It ’s really power ful,” said Amy Thurston, who’s been Hope Inspire Love’s CEO and president for the last eight years. “When we hear our community say, ‘We’re glad you’re here,’ it really means a lot. The walk was something we attended in Harrisburg in 2017, and we asked, ‘What are we doing here?’ Everyone wears all black. What we’ve seen is that the community can get behind something that doesn’t cause a ruckus. People want to know why we’re quiet
