Those in Recovery Benefit From Jesus Advantage BY JEFF FALK
At PA CareerLink, Lancaster County Goes to Work
BY JEFF FALK
O
n average, Americans spend 15 years and three months of their natural lives working, a total of some 90,000 hours. For some people, a job is work. For some individuals, employment is a career. PA CareerLink Lancaster County caters to both groups of people and
helps individuals to navigate this critical portion of their lives. “It depends on the individual,” said Chris Roggenbaum, who’s been the site administrator at PA CareerLink Lancaster County for three years. “Some people may say they have a job. For me, my job is part of my career. It’s part of my path. Some people are looking for jobs. A lot of times, people put
their identities into whether they have a job or a career.” An arm of the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board, PA CareerLink Lancaster County, which is located at 1046 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, is a job center that provides locals opportunities to improve themselves financially, to enhance their lives and to self-actualize. Southeast Region of PFBC Promotes Waterway Well-being R126101
BY JEFF FALK
The southeast portion of Pennsylvania is the most densely populated part of a predominantly rural state. But that doesn’t mean all those residents have to travel far to enjoy Pennsylvania’s outdoor recreational activities. One of the main initiatives of the Pennsylvania Fish and
Boat Commission (PFBC) is to provide and promote natural fun in and around water. “I think we really need to make people aware of all the opportunities around them,” said Andy Desko, who’s been the outreach and education coordinator for the Southeast Region of the PFBC for 18 years. “We want to help introduce folks to

The category is: “Addictions for $200.” The answer: God and human interaction. The question: What are the two most important components of recovery? Pastor Rob Weatherholtz has never appeared on “Jeopardy!” But he does know a lot about recovery and addiction. “We believe Jesus is the way, the truth and the life,” said Weatherholtz, the pastor of addiction, recovery and discipleship at Breakout Ministries. “Jesus is our advantage on the battlefield of life. Without Jesus Christ, you can do nothing. When we establish biblical principles, we walk with purpose in life. The most effective longterm solutions are connections and a relationship with Jesus Christ.” Weatherholtz is also the founder of Jesus Advantage, a recovery program administered through Breakout Ministries. Jesus Advantage will be commemorating five years of recovery, truth and changing lives during an upcoming celebration. At 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, Jesus Advantage will host a fried chicken dinner at Breakout Ministries, 2400 Anita Court, Leola. The dinner, which is free to attend, will include all the fixings and sides. To register for the event, please reach out to Weatherholtz at 717-629-0429. “The meal will be a celebration of freedom and life,” said
