Every year hundreds of volunteers give thousands of hours to make Farm Show week great. Many go unnoticed, working here throughout the year when no one else is around to make sure the buildings and grounds are ready to go or doing the never-ending paperwork required for something like this. Others show up to set up and tear down. And some show up during the show and ask what needs to be done. Every year it amazes me how people work together to make it all work.
The change of pace of Farm Show week allows us to reconnect with people we haven't seen in a while. A wide variety of food stands gives us a break from cooking while supporting local churches and civic groups. The livestock auction on Friday evening gives us an opportunity to support local youth by buying their projects for either our own use or to be donated to the food bank. Agricultural displays remind us of our heritage and where our food comes from, and many departments allow us to engage in friendly competition chasing the blue ribbon!
Every year seems to have its challenges, and this it will be parking. We will not have access to the school parking lot due to construction, and we have lost a lot of spaces along the creek due to the stream restoration project. If you haven't before, please use the shuttle bus to and from the Farm Show. Avoid the fuss, go by bus!

• Prize winners must collect their money any time after 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, October 8th and Saturday, October 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Farm Show Office off Adele Avenue.
• Premium checks not cashed within 60 days will be void and considered a charitable contribution to the Manheim Community Farm Show.

The support of buyers makes it possible for the members to continue their projects in the future and become more proficient in raising livestock.

A. Any individual, firm, businessman, company or corporation has the privilege to exhibit their goods or products in the commercial section of the Farm Show providing they abide by the following rules and regulations:
1. The exhibit must be educational.
2. No concessionaires or gambling will be permitted.
3. All merchandise or goods that have been placed on display shall not be removed at any time during the fair, without permission of the committee.
4. No noise nuisances will be permitted during the exhibition.
5. The exhibitor is liable for any loss or damage of his own property.
6. There shall be no fraud or misrepresentation of the products or goods during the exhibition.
7. Exhibitors shall arrange their displays so that they will not interfere with other exhibits.
8. All machines with moving parts and cutting edges are to be guarded by the exhibitor at all times.
B. Booth and Time
1. The booths in the building will be 10' x 10'.
2. Exhibits may be placed on display Thurs., September 30, & Fri., October 1, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Sat., October 2, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. or Mon., October 4, 7 a.m.-noon. The exhibits must be removed Sat., October 9, from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. or Mon., October 11, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
3. All space shall be paid for on or before Mon., October 4.
C. The committee reserves the right to make any alteration necessary for a successful exhibition and sincerely solicits your cooperation and support.

The Manheim FFA members would like to thank everyone who donates materials for the Children's Farm Show display and to all who contribute at the Gospel Sing.
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
• All exhibitors will need new exhibitor numbers for 2021.
• No scooters, roller blades, skateboards, or pets/dogs (except certified service dogs) allowed on the Farm Show Grounds.
• Each exhibitor must first register and receive his or her number which will be used on all of his or her entries throughout the Farm Show.
• Prize winners must collect their money any time after 6:00 p.m. Friday evening, in the Farm Show Building, or Saturday a.m. between 8:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.
• Exhibits must remain in place until closing time or exhibitor will not be permitted to show in next year's show.
1. All exhibitors are entered free unless otherwise specified under each department.
2. Each exhibitor shall have grown or produced the article exhibited, unless otherwise specified.
3. Each exhibitor should give the class, variety and name of his or her exhibits to the committee in charge upon entering the article.
4. An exhibitor will not receive more than one premium, in any particular class, or subdivision of a class (except livestock).
5. Each exhibitor will take his or her exhibit directly to the department after obtaining entry number.
6. An exhibit entered in one class cannot compete in another class, unless otherwise specified. No exhibitor may compete with himself or herself in any class or subdivision of a class.
7. No discriminating marking shall be left on any article exhibited in competition until after judging. Exhibit cards will be fur nished.
8. All livestock entries close at the time specified in each department. Livestock entries to be made in writing. Address all entries to Department Chairman unless otherwise specified.
9. All exhibits will be entered on Sunday, from 2:00-5:00 p.m., and Monday from 7:00-10:00 a.m. except the following Departments:
Art, models and woodwork entered Sunday 2:00-5:00 p.m. only.
Baked Goods — Monday, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

10. Ribbon premium will be given on those articles exhibited that are not classified in the premium list — subject to the decision of the judges.
11. When there is no competition in a class or subdivision of a class the exhibitor shall receive ribbon merited, and prize money as listed in the premium list. The judges may withhold any premium for a lack of merit or may award second, third, fourth or fifth premium only if deemed best.
12. Ribbons will be awarded on all placings as called for in the premium list, provided the exhibit merits a placing.
13. An article on display cannot be removed before 8:30 p.m. Friday. Exhibits in the Farm Show Building may be removed 8:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday or Monday, 8:00 a.m. to noon & 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. NO SUNDAY PICKUP.
14. All exhibits not called for by 6:00 p.m. Monday, after the Show, will become property of the Fair, and will be disposed of.
15. Label all baskets, bags, crates, etc. that will be left at the Fair for the return of the desired products.
16. The management will take every precaution in its power for the safe preservation of stock and articles on exhibition after their arrival and arrangement upon the grounds, but will not be responsible for any loss, damage or accident that may occur. Any persons detected purloining or injuring them will be dealt with according to the law.
17. Competition in the various departments is open to exhibits as specified under the general rules and regulations and the special rules given under each department.
18. No concessionaires or gambling will be permitted at the exhibition of the M.C.F.S. No person, firm or corporation shall sell, solicit sales of, offer for sale or otherwise dispose of stock or securities of any corporation, concern or organization of any name or character, during the exhibition.
19. All refreshment rights are reserved for civic or community groups.
20. Committee chairman may refuse any entries not worthy of exhibition. Decision of Committee chairman is final.
21. No one is permitted to spend the night on the Farm Show Grounds.
All decisions on rules will be made by the livestock committee and the decisions will be final.

All exhibitors must be present when animals are shown and sold unless prior permission is granted.
No dogs in barns or farm show grounds - unless certified service dog.
Youth exhibitors must maintain an approved 4-H/FFA project book.
BREEDING:
Sheep and Beef
Open to youth who are members of any Lancaster County 4-H livestock club or FFA Chapter. The Committee reserves the right to limit the number of entries if space becomes limited.
Dairy
Entries are limited to exhibitors from Lancaster and Lebanon counties, with priorities given to Lancaster youth exhibitors and filling the remaining openings first from Lancaster and then Lebanon open exhibitors.
SALE ANIMALS:
Any youth who is a member of a Lancaster County 4-H club or Lancaster County FFA chapter and resides or attends school in Manheim Central, Donegal, Hempfield, Elizabethtown, Manheim Township, or Warwick is eligible to compete.
A three (3) percent deduction will be made on all selling exhibits. This deduction will be used for advertising, equipment and buyer appreciations.
(AS OF PRINTING TIME, THESE ARE THE RULES FROM PDA. THEY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this printed on the CVI (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection which requires a veterinarian’s signature) is required. Animals appearing unhealthy upon arrival may not enter the exhibition grounds. Animals showing sign of illness during the Farm Show will be dealt with on an individual basis in accordance with the Show Ring Code of Ethics.
All animals must bear unique permanent identification per species requirements.
All drug and vaccine label directions must be followed, including but not limited to milk and slaughter withdrawal periods, and the final dose of vaccine must be administered at least 15 days prior to entry into the exhibition.
ALL certification of veterinary inspection papers (Health papers) shall be dated May 1, 2021 or after for ALL species, except swine. Swine CVI needs to be within 14 days of the opening of the Manheim Farm Show. Dated no earlier than September 4, 2020.
Sheep:
• Individual official USDA scrapie animal identification is required. Official scrapie ID includes:
✓ A scrapie ear tag; OR
✓ A scrapie tattoo with individual animal ID (tattoo); OR
✓ An ISO-compliant RFID tag.
• A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age and older (market lambs are exempt from this vaccination requirement). All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all rabies vaccinated sheep must be accompanied by a rabies vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be included on the CVI. If a rabies vaccination certificate is proveded, the certificate must contain legible name and contact information of the veterinarian who administered the vaccine and the veterinarian’s signature. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificate is acceptable.
Goats:
• Individual official animal identification is required. Official ID includes:
✓ A scrapie ear tag; OR
✓ An ISO-compliant RFID tag; OR
✓ A scrapie tattoo. Goats with an official scrapie tattoo must also have a unique individual animal ID (tattoo) to meet the scrapie ID requirements; OR
✓ Goats having a breed registration tattoo and accompanied by a registration certificate are exempt from the scrapie ID requirement if the tattoo is legible and a registration certificate (copy acceptable) or a CVI which lists the tattoo and registry accompanies the animal at all times during transport from the premises of birth.
Cattle and Dairy:
• Vaccinations against the following diseases are required: IBR and P13.
• Individual official animal identification is required: An ISO-compliant RFID tag.
PLEASE READ
• A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age and older (market cattle are exempt from this vaccination requirement). All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all rabies vaccinated cattle must be accompanied by a rabies vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be included on the CVI. Dairy Beef:

• Signed ownership form with proof of breed and calf birthdate must be presented at sign in. These forms may be obtained through the 4-H dairy beef club or Manheim FFA.
Swine:
• Premise ID is required. An official 840 series radio frequency identification (RFID) ear tag is the only ID accepted.
• All Market Swine exhibited in department sponsored market shows shall move directly to a POA or USOA licensed slaughter facility following the animal exhibition and may not be diverted to premises other than a recognized slaughter establishment or a slaughter market in which the sales are designated slaughter only sales.
All livestock entries (except rabbits & cavies) must be entered through the Showman app by September 10, 2021. See Manheim Farm Show website for link. *The RFID number must be on CVI.
• NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
• All exhibitors will be assigned a new exhibitor number.
• Please refer to Livestock Exhibition Information Chart for specific times species can be entered.
• Parking will be limited. Please see exhibitor mailing.
• All exhibitors will be directed to enter the Farm Show grounds via Farm Show Lane Sunday evening. One vehicle at a time will stop at the Commodity Tent. Exhibitors should have the following forms ready to hand in upon arrival at the Ag Promotions Tent:
1. Swine PQA certificates - swine exhibitors only
2. Health Paper - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (signed by the veterinarian).
3. Show Ring Code of Ethics form - Parents and exhibitors need to read and sign this form. (Ethics form(s) will be sent to each exhibitor upon species chairman receiving entry forms.)
Each species will have a sponsor for their respective Good Housekeeping Award. The Good Housekeeping award will be announced at the beginning of each species at the Youth Livestock Sale.
All equipment, feed and show boxes must be kept in designated areas.
Purpose of Good Housekeeping Award
• Keep animal areas clean and safe.
• Educate the public about the livestock being exhibited.
• Promote the agriculture and livestock industry. Award Selection Criteria
• Cleanliness of animals and animal preparation area.
• Cleanliness of bedding and aisles
• Exhibitor cards and awards displayed with animal(s) all week
• Feeder(s) kept clean and feed properly stored
• Water kept fresh and clean
• Equipment kept neat and in tack box when not in use
• Promotion of livestock industry to the public
• Promotion of 4-H and FFA organizations
• Consideration to fellow exhibitors
The management will take every precaution in its power for the safe preservation of stock and articles on exhibition after their arrival on the grounds. However, management will not responsible for any damage or accidents that may occur during the week.
Any person(s) found stealing, damaging or injuring exhibits will be dealt with according to the law
Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any loss, injury, or damage done or arising from any animals exhibited by him or her if such negligence is on his or her part. Any individual, spectator or patron handling animals without the consent of the owner is liable for all damage or injury done to themselves or animals. NO youth exhibitors or non-exhibitors will be permitted to stay overnight on the Farm Show grounds. Dairy exhibitors who will be preparing dairy cattle the night before the show accompanied by an adult and a parent permission slip. Tobacco use by any youth exhibitors (regardless of legal age to purchase tobacco) on Farm Show grounds is PROHIBITED! Any exhibitor who is found breaking this rule will forfeit premiums. Repeated offenses will be handled on an individual basis by thelivestock committee.

The Champion showman from each of the seven livestock shows will return to the show ring to select a champion “Showman of Showman.” The purpose of this competition is to have all our premier showman in one competition for the public to see and recognize.
Four classes of showmanship will be judged with all seven showman competing in each class. The classes may include: Dairy Beef, Market Goat, Breeding Sheep, Dairy Cattle, Breeding Beef, Pygmy Goat and Market Hog. One judge will evaluate the breeding classes and one judge will evaluate the market classes.
Rules:
1. If the Champion showman of a species decides not to take part in this special Showman of Showman competition on Thursday they MUST tell their species chairmen BEFORE the Overall Champion is selected. The Reserve Champion will then be given the opportunity to show in the “Showman of Showman” competition.
2. If one showman wins more than one show no other showman will be invited from those species to the “Showman of Showman” competition.
3. A $25 gift card will be given to each participant in the “Showman of Showman” competition.
4. Each class will be judged with first place receiving 1 point, second place 2 points and so on. Showman will not be physically placed in each of the four classes. Each showman will wear a number on their back. At the conclusion of the competition the scores will be added up. Lowest score wins. If there is a tie, the names of all four classes will be put into separate envelopes. One envelope will be drawn and the lowest score for that class will be the winner. Only first place will be announced.
5. No animal from any of the showman will be used. Evaluation will be based solely on showmanship. No fitting will be considered.
6. Zurin Masonry will sponsor the traveling trophy. If an exhibitor wins the trophy twice it will be retired to that showman.

1. ENTRIES - All participants must complete an entry form on the Showman app by September 10, 2021. NO LATE ENTRIES will be accepted.
2. ARRIVAL AND RELEASE TIME POLICY -
Arrival: All 4-H and FFA members in Manheim Central School District must have their heifers in place by Sunday, October 3, during the 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. check-in.
All dairy exhibitors are welcome to arrive on Sunday, October 3, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. as well. Milking cattle and any non FFA or 4-H exhibitor may arrive Monday, October 4 from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Any animals arriving before or after these allotted times will be sent home.
Release: Cattle may leave Thursday AFTER the Showman of Showman Competition. The Supreme and Reserve Supreme Dairy Cow that are selling their milk must stay through Friday night; release time for these animals will be 10:00 p.m.
3. CARE OF ANIMALS - Exhibitors must see to the delivery of their animals as well as to attend to their animals while on exhibition. Exhibitors are asked to keep manure cleaned up and keep aisleways clean and swept. Signs and displays promoting the dairy industry are not only recommended but judged for good housekeeping.
4. GOOD HOUSEKEEPING AWARD

* Unruly animals will not be tolerated and will be asked to leave.
* No microwaves, canopies or other large inconvenient items will be allowed.
* All milk must be dumped after milking. No milk leaves the premises. No exceptions.
*Un-kept exhibit areas will NOT be tolerated; exhibit and exhibitors must be neat and tidy
*Anyone staying overnight to care for their animals must comply with the chaperone policy.

5. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS - All cattle must be accompanied by a "Certificate of Veterinary Inspection" (CVI) signed by an accredited veterinarian. Health chart must be issued after May 1st. Cattle must be immunized against IBR, PI3, and rabies. Must have a rabies certificate.
6. FEEDING AND BEDDING - Shavings will be provided through the week.
7. GROOMING - Exhibitors may only use grooming products that are FDA approved for use on meat and milk producing animals when fitting any animal for show. Unapproved products may contain ingredients that result in unacceptable residues. Any exhibitor found using an unapproved product will be disqualified and stripped of premium earnings.

3. Divisions, Classes and Evaluation
No person shall interfere with the judge in any manner while in the performance of his/her duties as a judge.

Eggs:
Eggs must have been laid and kept under refrigeration for maximum of 30 days.
For biosecurity purposes, visitors will not be able to touch the eggs.
Farm Show egg cartons will be provided for all eggs at entry.
Eggs should be clean but not scrub washed. No cracked or broken eggs will accepted.
Any entry with polish, spray, coloring or any other substance applied to egg will be disqualified. Judging will be based on uniformity of size, shape, and color.
Judges reserve the right to disqualify eggs if they do not match the class definitions.

This show is open to any youth, ages 5-18, who resides in or attends school in Manheim Central, Donegal, Hempfield, Elizabethtown, Manheim Township, or Warwick school districts.
The Meat Pen Division is only open to youth 8-18 who are maintaining a 4-H or FFA rabbit project.
1. Rabbit and Cavy exhibitors must complete a Show Ring Code of Ethics form at check in and sign the Animal Owner or Caretaker's Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) on entry form. The VCPR simply means you have a veterinarian who cares for your animal if needed.
2. If any animal presents with signs of illness upon entry or at any time during the show, exhibitors will be asked to remove the animal(s) from the grounds. The Manheim Farm Show is not responsible for any animal that develops illness following exhibition at the show.
3. Single rabbit entries will be received on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
4. New for 2021: Meat Pens! A meat pen consists of three rabbits of the same breed, weighing between 3 and 5 pounds each, and not older than 70 days, or 10 weeks in age. Meat pens must be presented and weighed in from 4-5 p.m. on Monday, October 4, prior to the show. They will remain in transport cages until shown. All meat pens will return home at the conclusion of the show Monday, except the champion and reserve champion pens which will remain on the grounds until the livestock auction Friday evening. The exhibitor must be present to display the meat pen during the sale.
5. All other rabbits must be picked up on Thursday between 6-8 p.m.
6. Coop numbers will be temporarily marked in the animal's right ear at the time of entry
7. Exhibitors will be responsible for feeding/watering their own animals at least once a day, or planning with another exhibitor to do so. They will only be watered by the Farm Show volunteers in the case of an extreme emergency.
8. Exhibitors are required to clean their pens daily. Bedding will be provided.
9. YOUTH EXHIBITORS MUST BE PRESENT A THE TIME OF SHOW. Youth exhibitors are responsible for bringing their animal(s) to the show table when their class is called. If the animal is not presented by the exhibitor when called for, they will be considered a scratch.
10. It is strongly recommended that animals are groomed and have their nails trimmed prior to arrival at the show. Contact your 4-H Leader of FFA Advisor if you need help.
11. Although not a sanctioned show, all animals will be judged according to ARBA standards.
12. Animals not conforming to a specific breed standard should be entered in the "Pet" breed category.
13. Special ribbons will be awarded for Best of Breed, Best Opposite Sex of Breed, Best of Show, and Best Opposite Sex of Show.

OWNERSHIP
1. All market lambs must be owned by JULY 1 of current year. All breeding sheep must be owned by JULY 15 of current year. Market lambs sold at previous livestock shows and sales after JULY 1 MAY NOT be entered as a sale or non-sale lamb, and after JULY 15 MAY NOT be entered as a breeding sheep.
2. Each exhibitor may not show more than four market lambs (2 sale & 2 non-sale). Market lambs must be slick-shorn and are recommended to weigh between 100-150 lbs.
3. All sheep must be in the care of the FFA or 4-H exhibitor. Each member is to provide feed, trough, water bucket and have entire charge of his or her animal(s).
4. Only three breeding sheep per class per exhibitor.
5. Total of 8 sheep per exhibitor including breeding sheep and sale/non-sale lambs.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:
1. Identification - Purebred animals must be identified by registry name and number, corresponding to the ear tag or tattoo number. Grade animals must be identified by farm-flock number, corresponding to the ear tag or tattoo number.
2. Flock inspection - Flocks must be examined anytime after May 1. The veterinarian who has examined the entries and the flocks from which they come must certify on the health certificate that he has found no evidence of transmissible disease and to the best of his knowledge, no exposure thereto, and are not subject to any quarantine restrictions. Breeding sheep are required to have rabies vaccine.
3. IMPORTANT RULE - Certification by owner and an accredited veterinarian that the identified animal(s) is (is not) known to have been exposed to scrapie.
4. NEW RULE - All sheep must bear official USDA/APHIS eartag to be exhibited at the show. Sheep from flocks on the Voluntary Scrapie Program must bear the official eartag, tattoo, or electronicear implant.
5. REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST ACCOMPANY ALL BREEDING SHEEP, EXCEPT CROSS BRED CLASS.

1. OWNERSHIP - All swine to be shown at the Farm Show are to be the property of FFA and 4-H club members by July 1, 2021.
2. All entries to be registered through the Showman app. Limited to a maximum of 2 entries per active 4-H or FFA member residing in the Manheim, Donegal, Hempfield, Elizabethtown, Manheim Township and Warwick school districts.
3. Exhibitors must be present when animals are shown and sold.
4. All exhibits must be placed between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. promptly on Sunday, October 3 ONLY! Be prepared for project pictures Monday.
5. It is mandatory that pens be cleaned out on Wednesday afternoon/evening. Wheelbarrows and a spreader will be available.
6. No body clipping of market hogs allowed.
7. NEW Health charts must be dated within 14 days of show opening.
8. CLASSES AND WEIGHTS - Individual pigs must weigh 230-290 lbs. to compete and be sold. Pigs will be divided into classes of 4-5 head for the show. Divisions will be:

RULES
1. The contest is open to the Manheim FFA. (limited to 16 contestants)
2. Tractors will be furnished by the Manheim FFA Chapter.
3. The Management will not be responsible for any accident or injury caused by the contestants.
4. Judges reserve the right to stop a contestant who shows inability to operate the tractor.
5. Judges will be selected to score each contestant in accordance with the State FFA tractor driving score card. The low score will win the contest.

1. In selecting vegetables for exhibition, choose such specimens that will bring the highest market price. Do not select the largest; select medium-size specimens. If at all possible, do not mix varieties.
2. Consider the following:
A. Trueness to variety type. If at all possible, pick the specimens from one variety.
B. Uniformity in shape, size and color.
C. Be sure to pick out a perfect specimen, then select the others as similar to it as possible. Never mix specimens of different maturity.
D. Protect from dirt, disease, infection, and mechanical damage. Select specimens that are perfect and show no blemishes of any kind.
E. Condition and maturity. Be sure that exhibits are of high quality.
3. Read premium material, carefully following all rules and their regulations. If any entry calls for 5 specimens, be sure to exhibit that number; do not enter 4 to 6. In any instance, your exhibits will be disqualified if the correct number of specimens are not entered.
Entries such as root crops can be displayed with tops on if no class should contain both root and bunch breeds.

1. Entries must be baked or made by the exhibitor. Each item can only be entered in one category. No commerically made products will be accepted. Any entry that the judges deem to be commerically made will be automatically disqualified.
2. Competition in this section is limited to baked goods from Lancaster County. (Exception with Homemade Chocolate Cake, Apple Pie Contest and Angel Food Contest)
3. Items will be judged on general appearance, flavor, consistency and texture.
4. All entries should be entered on disposable plates and wrapped. Items will not be accepted on a returnable plate.
5. The Baked Products Section is unable to accept any entries that require refrigeration, due to the delay between the entry day and the judging. This includes cream cheese, frostings, and fillings. Also, no baked cream cheese fillings. (See Specialty Section for their rules.)
6. Decorated Cakes will be judged on appearance only and will be sold at the auction. Decorations must be edible.
7. Baked entries will be accepted from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

1. Participant must be an individual amateur baker (age 8 through and including 18 years old) who is a Pennsylvania resident. One entry per person.
2. Entrant may NOT have won 1st place in the PA Preferred™ Junior Baking Contest at any other fair in 2021.
3. Entry must be a plate of six (6) individual sized portions of the baked entry item.

1. All canned goods must be in clear, standard (half-pint, pint or quart) canning jars.
2. Jams, jellies, butters, preserves, conserves & marmalades may be in standard jelly jars and must be heat sealed in boiling water bath. Because different fruits require different processing times, consult a curent Ball canning book for proper times.
3. All entries must be sealed and include rings and lids that are clean and free from rust.
4. For the most part, judging will be done on general appearances such as uniformity of food size, color and clearness of liquid. Jars may need to be opened, however when spoilage is suspected or differences among entries is very small. In that case these items will be marked "opened" by the judges and should not be eaten when the event is over. The fair management is not responsible for spoilage of any canned good during exhibition. Any foods that are considered hazardous to consume will be disposed of including the jar that contains the food.
NOTE: Jams, jellies, marmalades, conserves, fruit butters and preserves will be opened and tasted for judging.
5. It is suggested, but NOT required, that exhibits be labeled with the name of the product, date preserved and method of preservation. Example: Peaches, hot pack, boiling water canner, 20 min., July 2021; Spaghetti Sauce, hot pack, pressure canner, 11 lbs. pressure for 45 min., July 2021.
6. All entries must have been preserved within the last 12 months.
7. Judges will not award a premium unless the exhibit is worthy. Exhibits without competition will be judged on their own merit and will receive an award only if determined worthy by the judges.

1. Baskets will be received Sunday 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. and Monday 7:00 - 10 a.m.
2. Farm Show visitors will be able to cast one vote per day per category.
3. Voting will be from noon on Monday until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winners will be announced at auction on Thursday evening.
4. All baskets will become the property of the Manheim Farm Show and will be sold at the Thursday Night Benefit Auction, with the proceeds going to the Manheim Farm Show Treasury.
5. The container does not need to be a "basket"; another appropriate container will be accepted.
6. Baskets must be wrapped in clear cellophane before entering.
7. All baskets must be named.
8. Attach a typed list of contents that can be easily read and a second copy for the auction night.
9. Individual name of entrants will be hidden from the public. Business & Non-profit catagories may display names.
10. All contents of basket must be family-friendly (no alcohol, etc.)
11. All contents should be new. Exceptions include antiques, sports memorabilia or other nostalgic items.

PURPOSE: Manheim Community Farm Show Parade exists to promote a positive, wholesome family activity. RULES:
1. Throwing of objects from vehicles is prohibited; however, objects can be handed to the crowd, and all food or candy must be in original wrappers.
2. The Parade Committee and/or the Manheim Community Farm Show Board may refuse any entry. Decision of the Parade Committee is final.
3. Liability - Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any loss, injury, damage done, or arising from any animal, vehicle, or participant.
4.A responsible adult must accompany a group of participants under the age of 18.
5. Cleanliness - You are responsible for any trash or manure.
6. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed before or during your participation in parade activities.
7. All participants driving in the parade must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
8. All tractor safety rules must be followed while participating in the Manheim Community Farm Show parade. This includes no riders policy.

1. Judging will be based on:

2. Past Manheim Farm Show Parade entries are welcome, however they will be scored lower in the creative category.
3. Any child, 7 years and under (as of October 2, 2021), must compete in younger category. Costumed adults are welcome; however, they are not considered in the judging.
4. Only one entry is required for a pair or group of children.
5. A contestant may enter any division desired; however, that division must be selected by the contestant, previously, on entry blank.
6. The committee has the right to combine or eliminate categories based on the number of entries.
7. No live animals are allowed.
8. All contestants in WALKING DIVISION MUST WALK OR BE CARRIED. If a child is being pulled or pushed by another child or adult, he or she cannot enter a walking division.
9. DIVISION F (wagon with platform) — Platform not to exceed 4 feet by 4 feet.
10. A float with any moving part must enter Division J (Mechanized).
11. All vehicles must be hand-pulled (no motorized vehicles will be allowed in any division).
12. No entries will be allowed to change their division after 9 p.m. on October 2.
13. The committee reserves the right to reject any entry not meeting their approval.
14. Contestants should report for judging at Island Field (Memorial Drive - behind football stadium). If need be, a decision to cancel the parade on Monday because of inclement weather will be made by 1:00 p.m. Monday and be rescheduled for Tuesday at the same time. If there are any questions as to whether the parade is canceled, call 665-7480.
15. All entries must be ready for judging by 5:30 p.m. Any late entries (after 5:30 p.m.) may not be judged. This decision will be at the discretion of the judges. Entrant may still parade, however.
16. All entries must be registered and wearing registration number or they will not be allowed in line of parade.
17. Only one person may accompany the entrant on the street during the parade. If more than one person is needed for the larger floats, prior permission is needed from the committee.
18. Prize winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m. at the Farm Show on Adele Avenue.
19. All grand prize and first place winners in all divisions will be invited to participate in Wednesday Night's Farm Show Parade.

The antique tractor display is open to any farm tractor manufactured prior to 1960. All makes are invited to be displayed near the baseball field. Priority will be given to Manheim-area residents.
Exhibitors are invited to participate in the Maheim Farm Show parade on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Space is limited and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for entries is Sunday, October 3, to have entry form to antique tractor chairman. One entry per exhibitor to give as many an opportunity to participate. See parade department for parade policy and contact information.
Receiving hours for tractors are Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. or by appointment.

The purpose of the Manheim Community Farm Show Queen Program is to enhance and enrich the lives of young girls and women in our area by the promotion of agriculture and the representation of our community at a local and state level. By doing so, we want to instill valuable life lessons to the girls such as self-esteem, leadership, teamwork, public speaking, responsibility and above all a sense of pride in our rural community and its heritage.

ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR LOCAL AND STATE QUEEN CONTEST:
1.Be a female who is a U.S citizen and a resident of PA, specifically attending Manheim Central High School or residing in the district.
2.Be at least age 16, but no older than 20 years of age as of June 1 of the year entering the local contest.
3.Be the certified representative from the local fair where she was crowned.
4.Have not been a former local Fair Queen winner, not a former State Fair Queen.
5.Not hold any other title for any other commodity group or pageant.
6.Must have her parent(s)/guardian(s) consent to enter the local and state contest.
7.Be single, have never been married, have not been pregnant nor given birth.
8.Be of good moral character (at the discretion of the Queen Committee).

10.Must exhibit something in the Manheim Community Farm Show (in any department).

12.All contestants will be given a personal interview, a 3-5 minutes speech to a panel of judges and select members of the Farm Show Queen Committee. Interviews will be held Tuesday, September 17. Exact time and and location to be announced.
13.Entrants must submit a photo no larger then a 5x7 with the application. Photo does not have to be professional but should be of good quality.

15. Misconduct of any contestant will not be tolerated (i.e. cyberbullying, etc.) Consequence will be immediate dismissal form contest and contestant will be banned from participating in any future royalty contest. Judging will consist of:
1.Personal interview utilizing your biographical information and other questions.
2.Knowledge of the Manheim Community Farm Show.
3.Memorized presentation of speech on “Why You Should Come To The Manheim Community Farm Show”.
4.Written essay of 300 words or less on “What The Farm Show Means To My Community”.
5.Poise, appearance, neatness, and ability to communicate.

1.The Queen must agree to promote the Manheim Community Farm Show for one year and participate in events as requested.
2.The Queen will reign over the 2021 Manheim Community Farm Show, presenting ribbons and trophies with the help of her court at all animal shows, family fun night, sale, and participate in events as requested.
3.When she has any free time she must be in the Children's Barnyard helping to teach them about the importance of Agriculture.
4.The Queen and her Court must ride in the Farm Show Parade on Wednesday evening, October 6, 2021. Rain date October 7.
5.The Queen must be present at the Livestock Sale Friday night to hand out trophies and banners to the winners and buyers.
6.The Queen and her family are asked to come to the Farm Show Banquet which is held in November, and she will be asked to give a short speech.
7.The Queen may be required, pending budget approval, to attend at least 8 work sessions preparing her for the state Queen Contest in Hershey, PA.
8.The Queen and her parents may receive, pending budget approval an all-expense-paid trip to the State Fair Queen contest in January 2022.
9.She must conduct at least one Ag in the classroom session, and teach some aspect of agriculture or submit a request to the committee for an alternate service project.
10.The Queen will be expected to be present at the next year's swine show (2:30 p.m.) to hand out awards.
11.The Queen will participate in the ceremonies to crown the 2022 Farm Show Queen and will be expected to recount her past year as Queen.
12.Most importantly the Queen is expected to present herself in a pleasant, professional manner at all times.
