weekend of holiday activities will take place at St. Mary of Providence Center, 227 I s a b ell a R oad, E l ve rs on , on S at u rd ay a nd Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15. Events will begin on Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with guided tours of the historic Potts Mansion, which will be decorated in a Victorian theme by local designers and artists. T he mansion is known as L angoma, which is a Native Amer ican ter m that means “homestead.” The mansion features 76 rooms, 22 fireplaces and numerous architectural highlights such as Tiffany stained-glass windows, “floating” staircases and woodwork detailing. HBCL to continue to offer services while under construction BY FRANCINE FULTON
Those who have driven past the Honey Brook Community Library (HBCL) lately may have noticed the huge construction project that is currently underway. Because of the work being done, the library will be temporarily closed to the public for in-person visits until mid-January 2025. However, curbside pickup will be available on select days and hours, subject to the construction
schedule. For the latest updates on curbside pickup, library patrons may visit www.honeybrook library.org or search for “Honey Brook Community Library” on Facebook. The Facebook page also contains drone images of the construction’s progress.
