Rock Band To Conclude Concert in the Park Series BY FRANCINE FULTON

The final performance in this year’s Honey Brook Concerts in the Park series on Sunday, Sept. 7, will feature the band Local Honey. The outdoor concert, to be held in Honey Brook Borough Park, 71 Pequea Ave. (Route 10), will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for donation to the Honey Brook Food Pantry (HBFP). Local Honey is a group of long time friends who have played in various bands through the years. Concert goers can expect to hear tunes from bands like the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band and Pink Floyd, as well as original material. To learn more about the band and to listen to music samples, visit www.localhoney.live. According to Jeanne Jenzano, vice president of Honey Brook Borough Council and chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, this is the first time that the band has played in Honey Brook. She explained that she finds bands to perform in the concert series from local music venues. “I spend a lot of time listening to live music around the county. If I hear a band that would be fun, I talk to them afterward,” she said. “I don’t like to book a band that I have not seen and heard in person. We want to make sure we are getting quality musicians. Plus I also have to consider the audience. I have to make sure the music fits the audience.” The concert series debuted in 2010 with one concert by a trio of See Concert pg 3
