In the nine years since it started, the Spring Roses Vendor Show has grown in scope, size and impact, said Janessa Diffenderfer, head coordinator. “It was originally meant to showcase local business, crafters, makers and creators,” she recalled. “It has since become a way to get the community involved as well, as we also use it to bring awareness and raise funds for Teen Central, Manheim.” See Pairing pg 3 People shop at a previous year’s Spring Roses Vendor Show.
March may not have the best weather for traditional yard sales, but if you’re itching to pick up a bargain, Ruhl’s Church has you covered. The church will host its annual indoor yard sale on Saturday, March 7, from 7 to 11 a.m. It will be held at Ruhl’s Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim. “There will be over 30 different stand holders participating in the event, and there will be something for everyone,” said Kris Gray, one of the event organizers. Items for sale will include collectibles, household items, antiques, toys, books and tools. In addition to yard sale stands, there will be a food stand with a wide variety of items for sale, including egg sandwiches, homemade chicken corn noodle soup, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, bake d go o ds and ass or te d beverages. “Back again this year will be a table of new and used Bibles and devotional books for all ages that will be offered at no charge,” Gray said. She noted that shoppers may also sign up to be added to the church’s email list to learn about upcoming events and to be entered to win a Weis gift card. Proceeds from stand holder donations and the food stand help fund the missions and ministry activities of the Sunshine adult Sunday school class. “ This class organizes and distributes food boxes for local families in need at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter; supports our church’s participation in Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes at See Yard Sale pg 5
