Seven Sorrows BVM Parish to present live Nativity

even Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) Parish, 360 E. Water St., Middletown, will present its second annual live Nativity on the parish grounds on Friday, Dec. 6, from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will take place in the church parking lot, which will be transformed into Bethlehem, the place of Jesus’ birth. Guests will be guided by the
three Wise Men as they visit the Bethlehem innkeeper, shepherds, live animals, and the Holy Family - Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. The live animals will be on campus for an extended visit
this year, allowing for an immediate start time and longer time at the end. Guests may enjoy enhanced decorations and stor ytelling while they journey in line toward
the Nativity, passing by the shepherds in a field and Mary’s house and visiting the home of a scribe who wrote the words of Scripture. They will also hear Christmas music performed by the band See Live Nativity pg 4
Nearly $5 million in grants awarded on Oct. 22 will support critical infrastructure and school projects in Dauphin County, according to Rep. Tom Mehaffie. Local Share Account grants are not generated through tax dollars. Grant recipients include Conewago Township, $156,890 to construct a pole building with solar panels for electricity to store public works equipment; Derry Township Police Department, $178,128 to purchase equipment for the mobile command and communications vehicle that is used
for incident management; Derry Township Municipal Authority, $200,000 for projects designed to decrease flooding around both Cambridge Commons and the intersection of Bullfrog Valley and Wood roads; Lower Swatara Township Municipal Authority, $250,000 to increase capacity of its sewer system for future growth; East Hanover Township, $750,000 to replace 2,300 feet of aging stormwater pipes along Jonestown Road; Royalton Borough, $88,126 to renovate the borough hall;

Inside the ice hockey arena, sticks and “biscuits” - or pucks - are crucial for staging the contest. On the Thanksgiving table, drumsticks (or simply sticks) and biscuits play different roles that are just as important. Sticks and biscuits also have a lot of meaning to the Palmyra Cougars Ice Hockey Club (PCIHC). For it is from them that the club’s most important fundraising event, Sticks & Biscuits 5K, originates.
