hen a new style of vehicle is introduced, the car stands out from the rest. However, as a style grows in popularity, that vehicle becomes just one of the crowd. Older vehicles that have survived and been restored, however, always attract attention because they do not resemble current styles, because they are reminiscent of a bygone era, and because they may invoke specific memories of younger days. Such is the case with the Terre Hill Antique and Classic Car Show. This will be the 42nd year that the lure of antiques, classics, street rods, muscle cars, and more will bring car collectors and members of the public to the borough. The 2025 show will be held rain or shine in the

noted that weather is often a factor in holding a successful event. “The show went very well last year,” he stated, adding that 130 vehicles registered to take part. “This is typical when the weather
is good - mostly sunny and 82 degrees last year.” Car owners often enjoy showing their cars while perusing the vehicles of other collectors and enjoying networking with other car enthusiasts. On April 28, the morning weather was agreeable for Bob Richards of Lititz, Tim Kilhefner of Akron, and Kurt Weaver of East Earl to bring their collectible vehicles to the park for a photo shoot. Each car exhibits unique characteristics that give it special appeal to its owner and others. Richards brought his 1957 Ford Thunderbird - the car that earned the best of show award at the 2024 Terre Hill event. Tim drove his 1993 GMC Typhoon, one of only 4,697 produced in 1992 and 1993 only and one of only 115 in that particular color and trim package. As summer approaches, children look forward to extended play time, but many parents may prefer that their children still spend time learning even when school is out. For homeschooling parents, learning may be a year-round exercise. To help make education sessions more interesting and enjoyable and less like schoolwork, the ELANCO Area Library has expanded the number of learning kits offered on loan. “These are great for summer learning, and they are also fun too,” said Anna D’Agostino, director of the
The New Holland Farmer’s 5K is now officially two decades old. “This is the 20th,” said Traci Tempone, Garden Spot High School (GSHS) cross-country team coach. The run has always raised funds for the GSHS cross-country booster club, which supports both the GSHS team and the Garden Spot Middle School team. The 5K is known for the relative ease of the course it offers in the area just south of New Holland. “The Farmer’s 5K is a nice,

flat race,” said Tempone. Past races have been held in April, but this year organizers decided to move the run to June to avoid conflicting with other foot and bicycle races, holidays, and students’ spring sports schedules. The 2025 Farmer’s 5K will be held on Saturday, June 7, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the New Holland Community Memorial Park, in the 400 block of Jackson Street. Registration and packet pickup that day will begin at 7 a.m. Registration will conclude See Farmer’s 5K pg 3
