EAHS Will Present “Peter And The Starcatcher” BY CATHY MOLITORIS
Imagination will take center stage when Elizabethtown Area High School presents its fall play, “Peter and the Starcatcher.” The show will be performed at the high school, 600 E. High St., at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, and at 1 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. “This show is a prequel to ‘Peter Pan,’” explained Elyse Hayden, a senior who portrays Molly Aster in
the play. “It’s a very fun show, full of magic, comedy and drama. It’s enjoyable for everyone watching.” “Peter and the Starcatcher” tells the story of a young orphan sent on a ship bound for a distant island. Along the way, he encounters Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training, who is searching for magical “star stuff,” with a mission of preventing it from getting into the wrong hands, including the greedy pirate Black Stache. It’s A Not-Too-Scary Parade BY CATHY MOLITORIS

The parade will begin assembling at 4 p.m. and will step off at 5:30 p.m. “We had a lot of people in the community reaching out to us last year about how awesome it would be to have a Halloween parade in Etown,” said Tony Gibble, owner of The Tatted Toy Guys Toy Emporium. “Growing up in Manheim, I remember there was a costume parade coinciding with the Farm Show made up of businesses and people in the community and (I) had

The categories will be ages 1 to 5, ages 6 to 10, ages 11 to 14, age 15 and up, couples, organizations/groups, best on wheels (such as wheelchairs, bikes or ATVs) and vehicles/floats. “The judging will be by the Elizabethtown College president, Betty Rider; Scott LaMar of WITF; and Elizabethtown’s mayor, Chuck Mummert,” Clint said.
“We have fun, creative activities planned for everyone,” said Miranda Heistand, who is helping to organize the Rissers Mennonite Church Fall Festival. “Come enjoy food, fellowship, games, activities and experience parts of the Bible on display.” The Fall Festival will be held at the church, 8360 Elizabethtown Road, Elizabethtown, on Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
