ark Mueller and his wife, Jackie, took a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and turned it into an opportunity to help others. Jackie was diagnosed with MS in 1998, and the couple sought to treat the disease as naturally as possible, without medication. They experimented with nutrition and exercise to see what worked and what didn’t, and their research led to MS FitEffect, a free, 10-week program for people with MS. The next session will run from Saturday, Sept. 6, through Saturday, Nov. 15, at Elizabethtown Fitness Club, 626 S. A World of Wonder Awaits Inside the Bookmobile

It ’s more than books on wheels. The Library System of Lancaster County’s (LSLC) bookmobile delivers knowledge, creativity, inspiration and joy. The bookmobile is kind of like a food truck serving up nourishment for the mind and soul. “Reading in general is very important,” said Audrey Lilley, the bookmobile’s driver, curator and full-time coordinator. “It’s important for kids to be reading. It’s important for them to

be able to pick up a book and see characters who look like them. Reading can be inspirational, and with retirees, it kind of comes full circle. I think retirees can find comfort in reading. For all people in between, it’s a way to relax and unwind.” W h e n n o t o n t h e g o to multiple locations all across Lancaster County, Lilley parks the bookmobile at LSLC’s main office at 1866 Colonial Village Lane, Suite 107, Lancaster. Mount Calvar y C hr istian School’s Benefit Auction and Kids Fest might take place on school grounds, but the event offers something for everyone, whether they are connected to the school or not, said Eric Stone, auction chair. “This is a community event, especially with the Kids Fest,” he shared. “Kids will have a good time. They’ll have a lot of fun, and this event gives everyone the opportunity to interact with our school in a very informal way.” The auction and Kids Fest will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, and Saturday, Sept. 27, at the school, 629 Holly St., Elizabethtown. Friday’s festivities will begin with dinner at 4:30 p.m. “We’ll be serving Harvey’s BBQ pulled pork, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, a dinner roll and a drink,” said Lindsay Norris, director of development and community relations for Mount Calvary Christian School (MCCS). Dinner will be available for dine-in or drive-through pickup at the school’s west campus, 35 Elm Ave. “The meal is a great option for someone looking to not cook on a Friday night,” she said. “Even if they don’t come to the auction, they can pick up an easy dinner.” Friday evening will also feature a variety of live and silent auctions, with Hess Auctioneers overseeing the live auction portion. “ This year, we’re focusing on experiences,” Stone said, noting that auction items might be vacation trips or tickets to sporting events. “One of our big features for Friday night are the class baskets.
