In 2024, George Kohlweiler lost his wife of almost 59 years to Alzheimer’s disease. Not one to sit around and wait for someone else to act, George took his grief and turned it into a way to help others.

peaking at Elizabethtown Area High School’s Class of 2025 graduation, valedictorian Austin Risser encouraged his classmates to stay present. “We’ve been dreaming about this for years, so don’t let it slip by,” he said. “Tomorrow, we can worry about college, or paying bills, or getting a job or anything else that lies ahead. But for tonight, let’s enjoy this moment.” The Class of 2025 held its commencement ceremony on June 5 at LCBC, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim. The ceremony included remarks by principal Jason D’Amico and superintendent Karen Nell and an introductory speech by Kylie Tobias.
