Lacrosse Day will benefit scholarship BY CATHY MOLITORIS

On Saturday, May 11, the athletic field at Elizabethtown Area High School (E AHS), 600 E. High St., will be the site of lots of lacrosse when the third annual Colby Hall Lacrosse Day takes place. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature U10, U12 and U14 games as well as a final game pitting the high school boys’ team against high-school alumni. The event provides an opportunity showcase the sport of

lacrosse and raise funds for the Colby Hall Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award given to a senior lacrosse player to help the student pursue educational goals. A senior at EAHS, Colby Hall died in a car crash in October 2021. In 2022, his parents, Don and Melanie Hall of Elizabethtown, organized the first Lacrosse Day in honor of their son. “He loved lacrosse and played for 10 years,” Melanie said, noting that all games played at the event will be in memory of See Lacrosse pg 8 R105450

hat happens when a busybody matchmaker comes to town on a mission? In the case of “Hello, Dolly!” a lot of comedy, chaos and love. Mount Calvar y C hr isti an School will present “Hello, Dolly!” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, through Saturday, April 13, with an additional performance at 2 p.m. on April 13. Performances will be held at the school, 629 N. Holly St., Elizabethtown. “Dolly is very confident, bold and loud,” said Sophia Bozell, a sophomore who plays the title character. “She’s always the loudest one in the room.” When Dolly decides she wants to keep her latest match, Horace Vandergelder, for herself, her decision has a ripple effect that impacts several other residents of
