It will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 713 Church St., Mount Joy. The evening will feature games, crafts, food and more, said Jessica Rockey, children and youth director for Glossbrenner Church. “We will have pumpkin decorating, as well as assorted fall crafts and an opportunity to get a fall family picture with a frame,” she stated. “We will have a variety of games for all ages with prizes and candy. We, of course, always have a bounce house which is a big hit for the kiddos and a relief to parents for them to get some of their energy out!” Everything at the event is free, she said, because the church wants anyone who is interested to enjoy a night out. ark Mueller and his wife, Jackie, took a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and turned it into an opportunity to help others. Jackie was diagnosed with MS in 1998, and the couple sought to treat the disease as naturally as possible, without medication. They experimented with nutrition and exercise to see what worked and what didn’t, and their research led to MS FitEffect, a free, 10-week program for people with MS. The next session will run from Saturday, Sept. 6, through Saturday, Nov. 15, at Elizabethtown Fitness Club, 626 S. A World of Wonder Awaits Inside the Bookmobile
BY JEFF FALK
It ’s more than books on wheels. The Library System of Lancaster County’s (LSLC) bookmobile delivers knowledge, creativity, inspiration and joy. The bookmobile is kind of like a food truck serving up nourishment for the mind and soul. “Reading in general is very important,” said Audrey Lilley, the bookmobile’s driver, curator and full-time coordinator. “It’s important for kids to be reading. It’s important for them to

be able to pick up a book and see characters who look like them. Reading can be inspirational, and with retirees, it kind of comes full circle. I think retirees can find comfort in reading. For all people in between, it’s a way to relax and unwind.” W h e n n o t o n t h e g o to multiple locations all across Lancaster County, Lilley parks the bookmobile at LSLC’s main office at 1866 Colonial Village Lane, Suite 107, Lancaster. Song, dance, cuisine, accessories, culture. What’s not to like? Not only does the One World Festival bring people out, the event brings people together. “Personally, I think people are more similar than they are different,” said Deepa Balepur, the chairperson of the nine-member One World Festival committee. “At the end of the day, we’re all human beings striving to be good citizens of the world. One world, many cultures, shared future.” The next installment of the annual One World Festival is upon us. The multicultural, multifaceted, multipurpose festival will be staged from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at Franklin & Marshall College’s Alumni Spor ts and Fitness Center, 929 Harrisburg Ave., Lancaster. The sponsored event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome, but registration at https://oneworldfestival lancaster.org is requested. “ We might have different customs and f lavors, but we are all living in this one world,” said Jenny Schulder Brant, a member of the One World Festival committee. “We do need to interact, and we have to find that common thread that unites us. We have people from all over the world living in this community. We all send our kids to school together. It’s nice to be able to celebrate that.” This year’s One World Festival will feature 12 musical/ d a n ce p e r fo r m i n g g ro u p s , including ones from the Indian, Latin-American, Irish, Greek,
