Church Will Host Free Meal And Clothing Giveaway BY CATHY MOLITORIS
If you’re in need of a warm meal and some free clothes, make plans to visit Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main St., Mount Joy, on Saturday, Jan. 28, when the 12th annual Clothing Giveaway and Community Meal will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. “People will line up outside and get a ticket for the meal and then come into the church,” said Savannah
Brosky, care coordinator at the church, noting that the event is first-come, first-served. “They can walk throughout the church to different areas set up by clothing type, and they can take as much as they want.” Clothing will be available in all sizes, from newborn through adult. “In the past, we’ve had coats of all sizes and men’s and women’s suits,” Brosky stated. “We will also have accessories and shoes.” See Giveaway pg 8

my goodness. Did you see this one?’” The Student Art Show will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy. New this year, it will feature art from students at all Donegal School District schools. In the past, the show has featured art from junior high and high school students, Beach said, noting, “This year, we decided to ask the elementary

and intermediate schools if they’d like to participate.” The show will feature a variety of art mediums. “You’ll see painting, chalk art, ceramic pottery and figures and some photography,” Beach commented. Some art will be displayed in a case in the lobby, with the rest of the show inside the library’s program room. Beach said she hopes to get 65 pieces of art to showcase.
When he served in World War II, Harry Dyer was a member of “The Hump,” a unit charged with transporting materials from India to China over the Himalayan mountains. He served from 1942 to 1945 as an aerial engineer before returning stateside to raise his family in Elizabethtown. On Jan. 5, Harry celebrated his 102nd birthday with a party at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab Center, where he lives. More than 30
