‘Tis The Season For Special Holiday Events The community is invited to get into the spirit of the holiday season by taking part in special events and activities being planned by several Chester County organizations.

The city of Coatesville will present the second annual Pavilion of Trees at Gateway Park, 22 Lincoln Highway. The attraction will open with a tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. The display will feature 30 community-sponsored decorated Christmas trees. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite tree, and winning trees will be awarded cash prizes to be donated to a local charity on behalf of the tree sponsor. Santa will arrive in the park at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, and there will be music, food trucks, carolers and hot chocolate. For more information, visit www.christmasincoatesville.com.
The Uwchlan Garden Club will present a Christmas Fair on Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 1756 Uwchlan Meeting House, 5 N. Village Ave., Lionville. (GPS users should enter Exton.) Attendees will be able to purchase fresh evergreen wreaths and swags, holiday centerpieces, planters and homemade treats. There will also be a children’s corner and an opportunity to win prizes. Olive Street Presbyterian Church, 1400 Olive St. Coatesville, will present a fresh holiday wreath making class, along with a free lunch, on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Greens, a wire frame and floral wire will be provided. Participants should bring any extra decor they would like to incorporate into their wreaths, such as pinecones, bells and ornaments.
Fiorenza’s Food for Friends (F4), a Downingtownbased nonprofit organization that provides food for people in need, will host a 5K Reindeer Run/Walk on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Exton Park, 132 Church Farm Road, Exton.
