It’s a very fast-paced comedy.” Samir, a senior who plays multiple parts, including a lorry driver and a featured dancer, said the audiences can expect a lot of singing and a lot of dancing, with both music and dance in a variety of styles. Meet local authors at library event BY CAT SHANNON

Eastern York is a community rich in creativity and talent, and Kreutz Creek Library hopes to shine a light on that. The library will host “Meet Local Authors!” on Saturday, March 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at the library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam. Local authors participating in the program are Joshua B ra n d s t a d te r, w h o w r i te s children’s books; Janine Eaby, author of young adult fantasy

books; Metro Sean Heller, who writes thrillers; M. J. McCluskey, who writes children’s books; Joan Patterson, who has written a memoir; Joshua Stauffer, author of middle-grade books; and John Verrico, who has written nonfiction self-help books. Each author will sign and sell copies of his or her books at the event, and vendors will sell book-related merchandise, said Jennifer Johnson, library manager. There will also be door prizes. All seven authors will be on-site for the duration

ake some mistaken identities, millions of dollars and a wheelchair-bound corpse, and what do you get? “Lucky Stiff,” a murder-mystery musical that will be performed by Columbia High School. The show will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, through Saturday, March 29, with an additional performance at 2 p.m. on March 29. It will be performed in the high school auditorium, 901 Ironville Pike. “This show is a mix between ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ and ‘Clue,’” shared senior Michael Unkow, who plays several parts in the show, including Mr. Loomis and the croupier. “It’s about a guy who finds out his uncle has passed away, and his uncle has left him $6 million in his will. But he only gets the money if he takes his uncle’s dead body around Monte Carlo for one last vacation.”

If Harry, the nephew, does not take the embalmed body of his uncle, Tony, with him for a variety of adventures Tony has preplanned, the inheritance will go to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn instead.

Inclusion is at the heart of an Easter egg hunt organized by the Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 7045. The Eggceptional Egg Hunt, for people of all ages with special needs, will be held on Saturday, April 5. The event will begin at noon at the VFW, 341 Yorkana Road, Hallam. “The idea for the special egg hunt specifically for people with special needs came up as a way to provide a safe and judgment-free environment for individuals with special needs to enjoy the Easter fes- Children enjoy crafts at last year’s tivities,” explained Lisa Price.
