Zooey Minnick plays Annabel Glick, the dog home employee. Chaos ensues as she pursues Harr y, played by Alexymahr Whitley, and as additional quirky characters become involved in the plot. “My character is a crazy lady, a New Jersey girl, who … stole $6 million from her husband,” said Namara Foster, a senior who plays Rita LaPorta. “She’s the person who killed Tony, and she needs to get the money back, so she’s after his nephew, Harry.” As cast member Samir Milligan explained, “There are a lot of moving parts to this show. It’s a very fast-paced comedy.” Samir, a senior who plays multiple parts, including a lorry driver and a featured dancer, said the audiences can expect a lot of singing and a lot of dancing, with both music and dance in a variety of styles. “Get ready for a night of sizzling excitement and paw-some fun!” said Tammy L. Jalbert, executive director of Columbia Animal Shelter. “Join us at Chopped for Charity to benefit the Columbia Animal Shelter where culinary creativity meets compassion!” The second annual Chopped for Charity will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Country Barn Farm Market, 211 S. Donerville Road, Lancaster.

The show will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, through Saturday, March 29, with an additional performance at 2 p.m. on March 29. It will be performed in the high school auditorium, 901 Ironville Pike. “This show is a mix between ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ and ‘Clue,’” shared senior Michael Unkow, who plays several parts in the show, including Mr. Loomis and the croupier. “It’s about a guy who finds out his uncle has passed away, and his uncle has left him $6 million in his will. But he only gets the money if he takes his

Eastern York is a community rich in creativity and talent, and Kreutz Creek Library hopes to shine a light on that. The library will host “Meet Local Authors!” on Saturday, March 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at the library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam. Local authors participating in the program are Joshua Brandstadter, who writes children’s books; Janine Eaby, author of young adult fantasy books; Metro Sean Heller, who writes thrillers; M. J. McCluskey, who writes children’s books; Joan Patterson, who has written a memoir; Joshua Stauffer, author of middle-grade books; and John Verrico, who has written nonfiction self-help books. Each author will sign and sell copies of his or her books at the event, and vendors will sell book-related merchandise, said Jennifer Johnson, library
