Church of Oak
Church of Oak Distillery is situated on the canal just outside Monasterevin, Co. Kildare. The distillery was a refurbishment that added an additional floor to the existing grain mill. The second floor added consists of gallery floors, exhibition spaces and a terrace. The structural floor (shown in the picture below) would have proved a challenge with other insulation products. The free-flowing qualities of energystore TLA® made it an ideal solution for this project.

“Our project was unique in that the 2nd floor finished floor screed was to be structural, so to achieve this, the project engineers devised a solution of introducing 180mm high mini stub columns at 1.0 metre centres in each direction to carry the structural floor. An insulation infill was then required within the 180mm void between all the mini pillars. With standard sheet insulation, wastage would have been a huge factor here, as well as time consuming exercise, in cutting accurately around all the mini pillars. Once approved for this area, it was used in all other areas. We will use TLA on future works, due to its cost effectiveness and efficiency.”
