Boat Hire Assistants Permanent Positions

The right candidates will be responsible for following procedure in the hiring of boats and making the experience a safe and happy one for our clients. The role will include: • Working in a small team but as part of a larger business • Based in Bowness on Windermere • Giving tuition and safety advice to customers • Hiring the fleet of electric self-drives and taking payments • General cleaning, basic maintenance and upkeep of the boats to a high standard • Managing times of boats in and out • Logging safety checks and any incidents accurately Good rates of pay for the right candidates.
Marina Operative
We are looking for a Marina Operative to join our team on a full time, permanent basis - you must hold a full, clean driving licence with the provision to tow trailers. Preferably qualified forklift operator, although training can be given to the right person. You will need to be physically fit and able to swim, enthusiastic, friendly and presentable. You will work 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis which will include some weekend work as part of our yard team who look after launch and retrieval of boats and all general external jobs. Following a preliminary interview we may invite you to attend a practical interview and good rates of pay for the right candidate.
Marine Engineer Apprentice
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team and train as a Marine Engineer. No experience necessary but an interest in engines and boats is a must! You would be expected to ask lots of questions, get involved and be keen to learn. The position is Monday to Friday, 9am -5.30pm and you will be expected to go to attend courses off site to gain your qualifications on the skills you learn on site and a driving licence would be advantageous. Rates of pay will depend on age and relevant experience but will be in line with minimum wage or more.

South Lakes
Cumbria Waste Group operates waste management and recycling facilities across Cumbria, which together receive a mixture of domestic, industrial and commercial waste. We are currently looking to recruit an HGV Class 2 Driver/Operative to carry out various refuse collections and activities. Based in the South Lakes area, the successful candidate will be required to ensure that recyclables and waste are collected efficiently and courteously from locations throughout South Lakes. All applicants must hold a clean HGV Class 2 licence and a digital tachograph card. This work can be physically demanding at peak periods and applicants should therefore be reasonably fit and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Basic health and safety awareness and knowledge of the local road network will be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given. Basic hours of work are 40 per week Monday to Friday including early morning starts. Rate of pay currently £9.34 per hour. The role benefits from 25 days leave per annum plus public holidays, 11.9% employer pension contribution and industry-recognised training.
