Kendal Town Council has the following vacancies

Full-Time Town Handyman

37 hours per week (Permanent) Pay Range £16,231 - £17,714 (according to experience) Local Government pension scheme. We are looking for a Handyman who will be responsible for dealing with day to day activities resulting from Kendal Town Council’s responsibility for management of small scale infrastructure, allotments, Christmas lights and Kendal in Bloom. This will include a wide variety of tasks including allotment site monitoring, general maintenance such as grass and hedge cutting, repairs, liaison with tenants and contractors, overseeing the work undertaken by contractors and watering, feeding and deadheading of blooms. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and using their own initiative. They should possess experience of dealing with the public and contractors, be able to prioritise workloads, possess good physical fitness and flexibility. Experience of similar work and health and safety would be beneficial. A clean current driving licence is essential. Part-Time Mayor’s Attendant The role requires flexibility as the hours will be variable both during the day and evening. There is a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours per month. The position is paid on an hourly basis. Duties include giving talks to groups about the history of the Town Council and Mayor’s Parlour, care for heritage items and the Mayor’s Parlour, attendance at civic functions and Council meetings, provision and serving of refreshments and assistance to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Kendal.
