We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Licensing Officer to work within the Public Protection Group. The post holder will be required to cover all aspects of the councils licensing functions. You will be organised, work on your own initiative and be capable of meeting strict timescales and demands. You need to be detail focused, have great numerical skills and work well within an active team. Applicants should ideally hold the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Licensing Practitioners (Alcohol) and BIIAB Level 2 Award for Licensing Practitioners (Gambling) (ALPG). The successful applicant will be expected to use their own car during the course of their duties. The post will be based in the Kendal offices.

Licensing Assistant Temporary (Maternity cover) – 37 hours per week Salary £16,572 to £19,048 We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Licensing Assistant to work within the Public Protection Group. The post holder will be required to deliver all administrative functions for all aspects of the councils licensing functions. You will be organised, work on your own initiative and be capable of meeting strict timescales and demands. You need to be detail focused, have great numerical skills and work well within an active team. The duties will include dealing with all applications for the various types of licences for which the Council is the Licensing Authority. This will include hackney carriage and private hire licences, premises licences issued under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005, animal licensing and other miscellaneous licences. Ability to work accurately and demonstrate a thorough approach to providing a high standard of customer service will be essential. The post will be based in the Kendal offices.
