Senior Communications Officer

£20,400 - £23,945 per annum / 37 hours per week The Council is looking to recruit a Senior Communications Officer to help keep our residents informed about matters which affect their lives, and to work closely with the media to explain and promote the authority’s services. The role will suit someone who has a clear understanding of the needs of local newspapers, radio, and TV broadcasters, who is also skilled in writing content for websites, social media and other digital channels. The successful candidate will be creative and proactive with strong communication skills, an excellent news sense, and the ability to work accurately under the pressure of tight deadlines

The Council is looking to recruit a full-time Benefit Officer with previous experience in assessing claims for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reductions and a general knowledge of other welfare benefits.
Housekeeping Staff Required
Duties will include means test assessments, allocating payments and any overpayments accurately, dealing with enquiries from claimants both by telephone and in person and effective liaison with other organisations (DWP / Citizen Advice Bureau & Landlords).
£13,125 per annum (full time, live out), 7.30am – 3.30pm approximately High standards of hygiene essential. Experience preferred, but full training will be given.
Parking Assistant £12,915 - £15,189 per annum
We are seeking to recruit two Parking Assistants to be employed at the Westmorland Shopping Centre Car Park in Kendal. The posts are full time working an average of 37 hours per week; this will involve working weekends on a rota basis. The post holder will assist the existing staff to provide a first point of contact with the public using the car park and duties will include collecting cash, dealing with enquiries and ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
Successful applicants must have previous experience, in a quality hotel / restaurant environment. Good communication skills and a team player essential.

Building Cleaner
£6.44 per hour Monday – Friday, 5.00 – 7.30pm The Council is seeking to employ a Building Cleaner at South Lakeland House in Kendal, working 12.5 hours per week. The post holder will assist the existing staff providing general cleaning duties to ensure all public and staff areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
